  1. AND Guest Relations is now saying that this type of FCC is actually a " a discount coupon and any unused amount is forfeited as they are a ‘one-time use only’ coupon." Take the cash!!
  2. $3.60 a can including the auto-gratuity of 20%.
  3. This is related to the old thread I resurrected but could be affecting many others as it might not be specific to this sailing. Has anyone else that had their cruise canceled and received both a refund and FCC gone to use their FCC and been told that the FCC is actually "a discount coupon and any unused amount is forfeited as they are a ‘one-time use only’ coupon?" Have you ever had a cruise that you had paid for be retroactively assigned to FCC without your knowledge or a refund of your payment?
  4. Grrrr. After my latest round with NCL saying I forfeited my FCC unknowingly, no Mountain Dew could be the last straw.
  5. Has anyone else had difficulty with using their FCC from this cruise? At the end of January 2022, I had a mass email stating that my cruise credit was about to expire. I called right away and was told that the email must have been sent in error. I have called various times since then updating my January 2023 cruise and each time was assured that my cruise credit was there. At the end of July when I called, the agent said, "Hmmn. I don't understand why I can't apply your credit to your 2023 cruise." She ended up getting a supervisor involved that said that the credit was only good until January 5 (I think it was?) so it could not be used for my cruise since my cruise went past January 5. Anyway, she said to submit a case to ask it to be extended. I pulled my cancellation notice received on the Pearl where it clearly stated that we had until May 31, 2022 to use it and submitted it imagining that it would be remedied as it was an obvious error. Today I received an email that they could extend the credit except that it had been used already. Now, I did go on a cruise a few days after the Pearl had to turn around, but I paid for it by credit card on the ship. I have the receipt and my credit card receipt. The FCC credit wasn't even available until January 10 per the letter that we received. I could not use it for a cruise departing January 6. The short cruise I took in January (since I was already in Miami and my plane didn't leave until the 14th) was not even close to what I had spent on the canceled Pearl cruise. Now they are saying that the canceled Pearl FCC was "a discount coupon and any unused amount is forfeited as they are a ‘one-time use only’ coupon." The FCC was over and above what I expected, but they did say it would be given. Now I find out that it never was, or if it was, it was used without my knowledge or consent for a cruise that I had already paid for. There is a refund from NCL on my credit card receipt that I am not sure what it is for but it is also not the amount that I paid for the short cruise either. I know many of you have been slighted by NCL and maybe I should have known better. Still, I am seeking any advice on how to address this or what others have done. Because NCL doesn't send your a detailed accounting of funds spent/refunded, I imagine that I am going to have a hard time fighting this.
  6. Shiver. That would totally creep me out. Guess I am not Haven material!
  7. I think they may have added a solo cruiser discount to some- or they always were and are just now advertising it. I'm going to call them after work and see if my cost has changed.
  8. I hope so- I sail Norwegian because I need Mountain Dew. You can buy Coca-Cola in most (all?) ports but you can't find Mountain Dew.
  9. It was still 6/30 here when I looked but I guess it might not be wherever Norwegian is counting from.
  10. I can see Coupons and Credits but the only thing listed is my CruiseNext certificate.
  11. In January, I tried and tried to check in electronically but it would never accept that I had watched the video. I printed my receipt which had just had a room change due to an upgrade. When I got off the shuttle, I was handed luggage tags to write my room number on. Well, that cruise was a bust so three days later when I again stepped off the shuttle at the pier with no luggage tags, already on my second room number ( I never did find out why the one the CruiseNext desk reserved for me got changed), they had a list which had yet another room number on it that they wrote on luggage tags for me. Honestly, I was surprised that my luggage arrived to the correct room, but it did.
  12. I went back to check on my January 2020 cruise which changed from 9 ports to 7 prior to embarkation and they did not change or reimburse any port fees for the difference. Sorry that you missed out on the ports you were hoping to visit. Even after two cancelled ports, I was looking forward to St. Kitts and St. Maarten but due to high waves, I didn't get to go to either. Enjoyed Martinique and Dominique instead though. I imagine at some point I will begin retracing my steps so maybe next time they will happen.
  13. $32 price reduction on an inside cabin. (I did already get a $900 decrease in May from what I had booked it for in March.) I could get an Oceanview for less but then I'd be down on deck 5. I don't think it's worth it. Does anyone who has stayed in an Oceanview have an alternate opinion?
  14. Mine's the 1/6 cruise but checking in on chat now--it does look like it has dropped to where I could get a balcony for less than my inside cabin.
  15. I have sailed on the Epic out of San Juan and done the other ports via the Joy out of Miami. I'd pick the Epic if I had to pick which to do again. One thing to note is that there are so many different islands in the southern Caribbean that if your ship can't get into one (high waves), they might just take you to a different one. Ended up on Dominique and Martinique instead of St. Kitts and St. Maarten (I think?). That's better than completely canceling your port day. I also really love San Juan. I recommend flying in early and doing some exploring in Puerto Rico. Recommend: https://www.viator.com/tours/San-Juan/Let-me-show-you-MY-island/d903-68888P1 - they'll pick you up at your hotel and drop you off at the port. Someday, though, I am going to actually get to go on a cruise out of NOLA on the Breakaway. Cancelled in January 2020 (which is how I ended up on the Epic) and then the pandemic cancelled my January 2021 NOLA plans and I ended up back at St. Lucia which I had loved when we stopped there from the Epic.
  16. When our cruise on the Pearl was turned around in January, we received a refund of all monies paid- that included port fees and excursions and Cruise Next restored. The FCC we received was just in the amount of the cruise fare not including port fees or excursions. Yeah, that took a second to figure out as I thought I would have a lot more FCC than I did, but it made sense once I realized it was the fare only. No amount of money was going to make it all okay, but I do feel that I was quite fairly compensated and am looking forward to using that FCC on an even longer cruise in January.
  17. YES! I had a cruise cancelled in 2019 even before the cancelled cruises of the pandemic so, yes, a heart stopping moment, even a bit of anger for a second, when it was just info regarding testing that could be completely different when I board in 199 days.
  18. I've even requested a price check through chat. Lucky thing too- the price had dropped $900. That paid for my flight.
