  1. I can only speak for myself, as I had never booked a CVP through a cruise line, only used one here at home. I did get one and there were 8 of us going, booking 4 rooms. She had a lot of work to get this taken care of, and if I had a question, I could either email her, or call. I KNEW we were not the only customers she had, but within a day or two, she always got back with me on whatever I needed to know. In fact I didn't have to, but after our cruise in February, I called and TOLD her how pleased I was with everything she took care of, to make our cruise an enjoyable one, from her end.
  2. Yes, I would say that is probably what you call it, a "photo opportunity," as I took advantage of it this year. The reason why??? 24 years ago I did my first one on another Princess ship, and I wanted to take it again, and "compare" my two pictures. 🙂
  3. I have not read the postings, but anytime I fly/cruise, I always take out insurance, for "just in case." Should someone on Princess apologized for what happened, yes. If you did have insurance coverage you need to file this as a claim.
  4. The 8 of us were on the February 25th Regal cruise. We were on deck 14, and I do recall at least 2 or 3 doors that were decorated pretty good as they "caught" my attention as I walked by. If they were ever removed, I don't recall this happening.
  5. I don't know if Travel Insured is the same as Travel Insured Store, as that is what I have used up till now. Fortunately, only a couple times in my many flight/cruises have I had to file. For me, the bad part is just getting ALL the papers needed to file, to get reimbursed back.
  6. SCX2, my friend like her bed pushed up next to the wall or closet wall, as it would sometimes give her support in the way she slept.
  7. MaryAnn2, that is what my 3 sons did when purchasing the Premier package. I'm sure my 3 sons had all of their pictures down loaded to their phone, and then one of my sons got the special stick, or whatever you call it, and ALL 8 of our pictures were loaded to his. We also were able to choose 3 of the 8 x 10 or 4 x 6 hard copy prints as well.
  8. I failed to mention when I posted earlier, I really enjoyed taking a tour of the food galley as well. The two men that did the talking of what goes on in the galley/kitchen before we did the tour, were so funny. I thought??? it would be boring listening to them, but they were really something else and so FUNNY!
  9. I don't know what deck that is on, but we had 4 rooms on Deck 14. I believe the video that someone posted here looks fairly close to what we had with our balconies too.
  10. I did not read your postings here, but the ONLY reason I wanted to do the champagne tower (and I do not drink champagne) was because I did it "24" years ago! For myself, I posted my picture from 24 years ago pouring the champagne, as well as the one I took in February, and considering my age of OVER 75, most people thought I looked just about as good as I did 24 years ago, and NO, I had not had plastic surgery. It was just FUN to redo it again after all those years.
  11. I have not read any of the other postings, but we just got off the Regal the 3rd of March. There were 8 of us, so we had 4 rooms next to each other. I know 3 of the rooms had the full beds, and my friend and I had twin beds. I won't say we had a lot of room, but we still had plenty of room to move around, in between the twin beds. For us, the bed and the comforter or whatever were wonderful. I had read if we didn't like the pillows, e could ask for another one, but we were very happy. As the expression goes, we were SNUG as a rug in our beds. 🙂
  12. I had read earlier before we did our cruise on February 25th, that the light house was closed, as I WANTED to be able to walk to the top. We rented a small car, and my son said we were going to check it out anyway. I am so GLAD we did. The reason I say this, the 5 of us climbed to the top of the light house, and this was my "3rd" time in my life, being 81 years old, I was HAPPY that I had no problems climbing to the top!
  13. CruzDayz, I finally got to eat some of it in a cup and it was good. Two or 3 of my sons had the BIG desserts (the picture being shown), but my one son said he ASK for brownies, and they said it was in the "bottom," but there never was any. Guess they "forgot"?? to put it in.
  14. Snaxmuppet, I figured that would happen, but with "8" people, I figured, but guess ???, I was wrong. 😞
  15. I will say the 8 of us went in/out our door many times, and NONE of us won anything.
  16. The 8 of us agreed, Belli the magician was GREAT. They did have the $10 sales pitches which I normally check out, but they didn't have anything I needed this time.
  17. I have not read anyone's responses on here, but the 8 of us just got of the February 25th Regal cruise. Yes there are 3 MDR's, but we always (we requested this from when we first arrived in the dining room) had the same table and waiters, which was very nice. Since there were 8 of us, we wound up (I noticed other groups like ours were eating about the same time too) eating around 7:30 or later, and we did have a set time. We were advised, that it might be a little later, as they cannot PUSH the earlier dining guest away from the table until they are through eating.
  18. The 8 of us just got off the Regal after our February 25th cruise. I felt the "inside" temperature of the cruise was just perfect for me. Now I will say since I normally get cold compared to many people, I also wore a light sweater, and never had a problem. A couple times coming in from outside where it was warm, and I did not have a sweater on, only something light over my arms as we had been to the beach, it still felt to ME, very comfortable.
  19. I have not read the different replies, and we (8 of us) did purchase the Premier package. It included what you are asking about, and I know for myself, I did NOT use everything that was available to me, but that was MY choice. This package covered all the gratuities, but I decided I wanted to give a little more, and this was my choice. So I did this for our room steward who was very good and also in the MDR people who took care of us for some of the dinners.
  20. I thought I would throw this in for good measure, and you don't have to check this out, unless you just want to. If you go on Facebook and look under Brenda Beshears, you will find MANY pictures (I have never posted this many pictures in my whole life). I was able (because of the package we purchased) to take a lot of pictures that was taken on our Regal Princess Cruise as well as the ports we visited too.
  21. Candy4040, that's great. We wound up paying about $160 per night pp. It was in a perfect location, so if we wanted to, we could do a lot of walking to various places.
  22. You are more than welcome. As you could see while I was posting here, my mind was going back/forth of what I had been doing on/off the ship. One nice thing was when getting off the ship and wanted towels, you did not have to get them around the pool area, as they were always in the area when leaving the ship too, and when coming on, you could toss them in a container as well. (Saved from having to pack them in your luggage. 🙂 ) I didn't know how the beds/spreads would be, as I had read if we were not happy with our pillows, we could ask for another kind, but my friend and I were COZY as a bug in the rug, as everything was great for us. As I take so much luggage, I figured I might have to put some of it under the bed, which I believe I could, but I found plenty of room in the closet to do this. I will just throw this in for good measure, sometimes there is a pretty long walk from the ship to the entrance of the port. More than likely you know they have the rickshaws that pull people. What surprised me was they they only charge $1 pp. I don't know if the Magician will be there when you are on the ship, but he is a MUST to see, keeping a person spelled bound through every thing he does. Getting on the ship goes pretty fast if you already have gone on line/phone and put all your information in, and received your medallion. I will say getting off the ship was faster than what I expected, even when we had to get our luggage. As usual, we had to go to an area to wait until they called our color/number, but it wasn't very long like it has been on some cruises I have been on. I had checked with the other members of my family to "make sure" they had turned in the paper (Tuesday before getting off the ship to go to the port) of the type of transportation we had, and what time we were needing to be off the ship. Low and behold they had NOT turned it in, as they thought???, I had done it. I thought oh my! I then called Guest Services and mentioned what had happened, and they took care of everything right then, which really helped. I had mentioned International Cafe which is right next to the Piazza, which has sandwiches. I know you want the meat cold, but speaking for both Donna and I, when we got the sandwiches, the bread/rolls/crescent rolls, were pretty cold. So we ask them to use the microwave to warm them up, and the sandwich meat or whatever was in the sandwich was perfect.
  23. ShipTraveler, unfortunately I won't be able to answer all of your questions, but I'll try with what I am familiar with. I do want to mention before I forget, we stayed overnight before we got on the ship on Sunday. We had to be out of the hotel by 11:00, and the beach was across the street. So we decided to start walking until our transportation came to pick us up later in the day before we boarded the ship. What we found was fun, was taking the trolley for a $1 pp. I think it has 2 routes and you can get a free transfer if you want to go the other route as well. That way we could see quite a bit of Galveston (our first time), which is a nice area. I also want to mention while I'm thinking about it, I was NOT interested in doing the Medallion (I'm an OLD lady, but my sons taught me quite a bit and that is how I learned.), but it did come in handy twice. My room mate and I were on deck 16 eating when this man came up to me and ask if I was Brenda Beshears? Of course, I had NO clue why he was looking for me, but my son had made reservations at Sabatini's speciality restaurant(Italian food) (one of the restaurants we picked form the premier package), and they had changed the time and wanted me to let the other people know in my group. Another time I had left my small purse behind (thinking I had left it in the MDR, but it was not there), and our main waiter told me that he would FIND it for me. Low and behold, I had left it on the back of the ladies restroom. I then knew, the medallion DID come in handy. That is just briefly what the medallion does, but it has almost anything you want to know/do on it that is going on at the TIME of the ship you are on. The other specialty restaurant was Crown Grill. I ask the other 7 with me which of the two they liked, and it looked like everyone like the Crown Grill. I think mainly because of the food. Another place on the Premier package is Alfredo's, and it has mainly pizza, but there is just about any kind you want, and it is GOOD! I was able to try (this was good too) Gelato, which I had never had before. Our main dining room, the food was good too, and every night (other than the two) we had something "different " to eat. I didn't eat much at the buffet, although it was available, but my room mate and I ate at International Cafe, which was a neat place to be, just next to the Piazza, where "everything" seems to be going on. They have several sandwiches, deserts, etc. Also, the TV in the room tells just about anything you want to know. For myself, close to the Guest Services, if you wanted a daily tally of what you have spent, etc. you put you medallion next to it, and it will print it up for you. I'm sorry this may seem a little zig zag, but I was thinking of what happened with me, and how I could answer this. If you did not understand something that I had mentioned, please ask,and I will try to answer again. Globaler, the 8 of us did not use the casino. I'm sure some people may have thought the ship was bad in some areas, but for myself (I never heard any of the other 7 say anything either), I never seen anything that needed to be replaced, etc. from wear/tear. Food was great, no matter where you went to eat it, and I never heard any of the other 7 complain about it. I'm not much of a seafood person, but there was quite a bit of it served in the MDR (of course, there were plenty other options as well) if you wanted it, and my family was always happy with it, when they had it. Service, no matter whether it was Guest Services (I called a couple times) and they always were able to answer my questions, no matter what. Our room Steward Felix was the best. I had only ask for once a day, but he was in there twice a day, and I believe either he or his assistant were doing the other 3 rooms too. No matter who worked on the ship, or what their "title" was, everyone was willing to help and very accommodating.
  24. CruzeQueen2, I agree with you 100%. I have been BLESSED to cruise around 20 times in my lifetime, and I will say, I never seen/heard anyone complaining about anything on the ship, and everyone (even on the PACKED elevators) seemed to be in such a great mood. Yes, when you see the MAIN ship staff visiting, laughing with the patrons, I think it just make everyone around them happy at the same time.
  25. Normally I write a lengthy review from the ship that I and the other 7 that were with me, just got off, and this time it was the Regal. I just don't have the time to do it like I normally do. I did not go all over the ship and check everything out, as 3 days I was off the ship with 5 others at the different ports. You may or may not have questions about the Regal (we did the Premier package), but if I can answer any of your questions, I will try, and if I don't have the answer, I will tell you that as well.
