  1. Nope. Celebrity is planning on adding a few microwaves and a refrigerator with leftovers from lunch by each coffee station. Guests that choose not to go to the MDR will be able to warm up their own dinner.
  2. Hopefully this experiment will fail faster than the Kobe beef burgers
  3. I suspect they will have a special and more expensive Valentine's Day Menu and you will not be able to reserve a place until you are onboard.
  4. I really don't understand Celebrity's approach to cutting these services and adding these upcharges. Sure, I understand that they took on a lot of debt during the pandemic but charging $10 for room service really isn't going to pay down the debt. The only thing that makes sense to me is that it is still a people problem and they still can't get enough crew members. How many times is each cabin going to order room service? How many crew members does it really take to run the OVC in the evening. I think Celebrity would be far better off to raise the fares by $50 or whatever it takes to pay for the extra staff and a few extra lobster tails so they can try to continue to market themselves as a luxury line. Raise the crew wages to fully staff the ships if that's the real issue. By taking this approach they can distance themselves from the other cruise lines that are nickel and diming people and become a more attractive option. Perhaps we are seeing the effect of the new CEO in charge of the Royal Caribbean group. If so, I don't think we will like the future direction of Celebrity, perhaps time to move to HAL. The Pinnacle Class ships look nice to me.
  5. Do you know if the person that took your bag has received their bag? I thought the port was holding their bag hostage until your bag was returned.
  6. Bingo, you've figure it out. The same type of passenger that finds value in the Park West collection won't notice the increasing cost and additional cutbacks of a Celebrity cruise. That's the target market for Celebrity.
  7. I agree with you husband and I tell the Matier'd that I don't to sit near those dish stations or by a major walkway. If it's too close I'll reject the table.
  8. I'm fine with this approach as long as I can sit on the edge of the pool.
  9. Now you've gone too far. The pool and the hot tub are the heartbeat of the ship's activity. I object to any charges for using the pool or the hot tub. Please look somewhere else for your nickels and dimes.
  10. Ok, if this is really true I'm cancelling my future cruises until they bring back the evening buffet. Final Payment of my next cruise is January 26. I need to know if this is really the plan by then.
  11. No, the issue is value for your money. You could have room service once a day for $70 on a 7-day cruise. Is that still a good value for you? Would you still go on the cruise if the cruise was $70 more expensive?
  12. We could order anything we wanted. But at the end of the day, if it costs an additional $10 for dinner to be delivered, is that really enough to change your choice of cruise lines?
  13. I very seldom did room service before I was quarantined to our cabin for several days. But after a couple of days, I started to enjoy room service. Even with Covid. My thought was that I would probably do room service more often on future cruises.
  14. I wonder what the plan is for cabins that have 3 or 4 people. Do you have to unfold the sleeper sofa or lower the additional beds from the ceiling yourself? Nothing says Modern Luxury like unfolding your own sofa bed. If Celebrity offers some classes in towel animals, we can even make our own animals after dinner.
  15. Lol, I wouldn't pay a penny for any of those things.
  16. Great, I'll stop by in a couple of weeks.
  17. My prediction is that history will view the E-class as a bad design and will not expand the customer base. I doubt that the next CEO will order any additional E-class ships.
  18. I understand your point, but I'm not sure that the CC customer is the typical Celebrity passenger. I'll suggest that most passengers would be equally happy on any one of several cruise lines.
  19. I thought RCL was changing to once-a-day cabin service model and you could still choose to have evening service. In some ways I might prefer that model, especially on sea days.
  20. Maybe Celebrity's attempt to rebrand themselves as a luxury line will work for the suite guests, but it certainly won't work for the non-suite guests. Sure, the E-class ships are still the shiny new objects but they really don't offer any additional service or features to the non-suite guest to warrant the higher cost. In fact many would argue that the E-class ships reduced features for the non-suite guests because they limited access to the limited open deck and forward-facing areas of the ship as well as eliminated true balconies for most balcony cabins. Celebrity can try to brand themselves as a luxury line but most guests won't see it and eventually won't pay for it.
