  1. Good point. Does she go to the Fjords every week, like Iona ?
  2. I'm not sure equating Eclipse to Iona is a fair comparison. Iona is 50% bigfer than Eclipse. Iona, like all mega cruise ships has an enormous superstructure, and is therefore much more adversely affected by wind than smaller ships. You could therefore argue that she is eminently unsuitable for cruising the fjords!
  3. No need to e-mail P&0. You take your own test within 48 hours of departure, and then you tell P&O that it was negative. So, yes, P&O are expecting passengers to be honest in their response, in the same way they expect everyone to be honest about other ailments that they might have.
  4. Careful - you will have John Bull after you with comments like that !
  5. In the current climate, no one is going to want to buy a second hand cruise ship ! Azura and Ventura are major profit centres for P&O, and therefore they will not be looking to off load them any time soon.
  6. I would always choose a port cabin on this crossing - far more sunshine.
  7. I'd agree, but Azura and Ventura are not likely to be sold for at least another ten years.
  8. Still (according to Moley and other analysts) a high enough occupancy level to generate an overall nett profit.
  9. Do you not realise John was joking, or do you not have a sense of humour ?
  10. All cod/haddock used in the UK fish and chip shops will come from the Atlantic, Baring Sea, North Sea etc.
  11. On our last cruise, our waiter knew that I was partial to a glass of red, so, would always bring me a "double" glass of merlot, and a single glass for my wife. As I never reached the 15 drink limit, I never found out if my glass was counted as a single or a double. My feeling is that Princess have other things to worry about than 75c worth of wine!
  12. Where shall I start ? My wife, my next door neighbours, the people across the street, the chap in the pub. Shall I go on ?
  13. Actually, the number of excess deaths from March 2020 to December 2021 is 133,000. Still an unacceptable number, but if you want to make a point, get your facts right.
  14. My reaction from reading the link, is that I will not be putting my life savings into CCL ! On the other hand, I won't be selling my hundred shares either, as long I continue to cruise on CCL brands.
  15. My understanding is that compensation only relates to ports missed once you have set sail. Not sure what you do if the itinerary is changed 24 hours in advance ! (Rhetorical question).
  16. Exactly. If people have an NHS test kit, why not use it ? If, in the future, they need another test, they will have to buy one. The overall effect is the same.
  17. Perhaps I'm being cynical, but P&O do seem to be sweating the assets when it comes to the older ships. New TVs would not cost a fortune - a £49 a night Premier Inn has better TVs than Azura!
  18. The good old British sense of humour ! You do know that your leg was being gently pulled ?
  19. Can't say I'd get worked up about a 7 day cruise out of Southampton on Iona in the middle of February !
  20. If it is more than 270 days (9 months) since the last of your two initial vaccinations, you need a booster if you want to cruise.
  21. Exactly, which is why P&O are building big new ships for the younger generation.
