  1. At least you're up to bat. We were on Navigator in June and both Greenland ports were cancelled due to 50 kt. winds, heavy rain, and icebergs. As you said " the captain’s decisions were absolutely correct! Safety is paramount." Enjoying seeing your photos of what we missed.
  2. Good point. Since I don't use the Casino and rarely go into the shops, I didn't consider that. I imagine late departures also benefit the cruise line with fuel savings.
  3. We love Sea Days, but if it's all late departures you can take advantage of the ports. Have a leisurely dinner in a local restaurant, go to a fun local bar, etc. If you don't want to do that, then just do on the ship what you'd do if it was underway. The only difference is you'll see the port lights rather than dark ocean, but ship facilities will all be open. For me, not a big deal at all.
  4. True, there is no requirement. But if you DO check in 24 hours prior, get your boarding pass digitally, you will avoid the problems that the OP had. This is still a very "strange" time. Regent Air is slammed with all the airline schedules, people booking cruises and wanting air deviation, and people with problems. The airlines are cancelling flights daily. Sure, Regent should notify you IF they were notified. But I, for one, will not leave it up to them. I check my flights frequently simply to avoid any surprises. I won't be caught going to the airport for a flight that was cancelled a week earlier.
  5. Not sure about Cabin changes, but as for getting on and off the ship, you can do it at your leisure. They prefer you to get off the ship as they do a complete turn-around cleaning and even though you can stay in your cabin and use public spaces, you'll still be in their way. Be sure your Seapass shows your actual debarkation date. If not check with Passenger Service and have it updated before you leave the ship. If you're changing cabins, the crew will move your stuff (you might want to move valuables in the safe). I would go to Passenger Service and get your new Seapass for the new room before leaving the ship. They can tell you what you need to do.
  6. We just had our Covid test done. The printout has all the necessary information except the lab that performed the test. It has the Dr.’s name that ordered the test on it. I also have an app version if we have access to Wi-Fi at the port. We leave tomorrow for Montreal so don’t want any glitches. Anyone familiar as to how detailed Regent gets as to “test provider?” Is the Dr.’s name sufficient?
  7. Celebrity will give you a refund if you have to cancel your cruise due failing the Covid test. So you will be covered if you fail the test 48 hours before. Here is the link to their policy. So you it appears you don’t have to worry. I would go with the policy that best suits all your concerns and not focus on the Covid portion too much. https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/cel-covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds-policy.pdf
  8. It’s fully refundable if you cancel prior to pickup date. There will be a small fee if luggage tags have been issued. Here is a quote from their website: ”Cancellations requested prior to the original scheduled pickup date will be eligible for a full refund….A reprocessing fee of up to $25 may apply if new luggage tags are shipped to you.” If your only hesitation is the possibility of testing positive on the Covid cruise, I’d go ahead and book. That way you’ll have your Tags with you and wont’ have to worry about them having them at the pier. Just easier and cleaner in my opinion.
  9. We are currently using Luggage Forward for our upcoming cruise in a few days. We arranged the service awhile ago. The sent us our luggage tags about 10 or so days prior to pickup and the package included our return shipment from the ship. I even added a 3rd bag for return, no problems. The people are extremely nice! I shoot them a question by email and I get at least one response within an hour or so. The pickup went as planned. You don’t even have to be there. You can leave your luggage on your front doorstep if you want. They tell me upon disembarkation in Southampton, the well have a representative waiting. We simply hand him/her our luggage and we’re done. Again, our first experience, but so far they seem to be outstanding. As for arranging on board, you will have to set it up yourself, as far as I know, Regent won’t do it. But you simply go on line and set up the service. They told me that they only needed about 24 hours notice if I wanted to add an additional bag (we decided to just add it early), and their representative would have all the paperwork. I would let them know as soon as possible though. Go on their website and ask via email how much notice they need to set up a post cruise pickup.
  10. Ours for both our back to back cruises also shows the box checked but says “complete online checkin.” We have done both and both boarding have been received, so no problems at all. I suspect it’s just a glitch that it doesn’t change to “completed” when complete.
  11. Thanks Goarmy and Chatkat. Appreciate the info. I will let my friend know. It might be find it easiest to meet a Quincy Market. Only 12 days until we board Navigator in Montreal. We're going into "self lockdown" mode just to be sure we "pass" the Covid test. Getting excited!!! 😎
  12. Our cruise coming up has a day in Boston. We plan to spend the day with a friend who lives there. He does not have a car so we're going to have to arrange to meet somewhere. My question, for those who've had Boston as a port of call, does Regent supply a shuttle anywhere that runs back and forth? If we had access to a shuttle it'd help in planning where to meet our friend. thanks
  13. We did 3 segments of a Grand Cruise in 2018. No, we were not invited to the special events, nor should we have been, we weren't on the Grand Cruise. But honestly, I didn't even know the special event was held until I was talking to one of the Grand Cruise passengers that went. If you have some concern about being included on the ship, not to worry. You won't even know who the Grand Cruise passengers are unless you ask them.
  14. Try this website to locate a testing facility: https://testfortravel.com If that doesn't work, here is a link to sign up for testing at the port of Seattle. I got this link off the Royal Caribbean website. https://docgo.com/royalcaribbean/
  15. There is no mention of any limitations on their website other than it does not include dry cleaning.
  16. We have an overnight port stop in Dublin, the ship is actually in Dun Loaghaire. We are doing a morning shore excursion and would like to stay in Dublin to enjoy the afternoon and evening. So our plan would be to leave the excursion early. We would, of course, advise the tour host so they will not be looking for us. Is this something that is easily done or does it create issues with the tour company? Thanks
  17. I know we have included laundry but not dry cleaning. My question is simply pressing clothes included or is there a charge for it? Thanks
