  1. We have always had great service on our previous Royal Caribbean cruises Wonderful wait staff, coffee for hubby delivered with desert, cheese plate on the table, great room attendant. Did all the above staff ask for a 10? Yes they did! When asked in the survey, "did anyone ask you to score them a 10" I say no they did not, because I was very happy with all that was done for us. I did tell the guy in the lobby of the MDR (with the clipboard doing the survey) asking "How was the meal," exactly what I thought, as in October last year, there were a few meals already with issues. First cruise since the changes is May 7th on Brilliance to Alaska. I have found with the survey, if you score high on any questions, you often do not get to make comments, even if you really want to. Staff DO ask for a 10, because they have issues if they don't get a 10. Not sure what I am going to do this time if service sucks. The only voice we really have is through the survey. I think I am just gonna be honest. Question: What did you do, and will it change?
  2. Hahahaha yep and on the survey after the cruise, they have the gall to ask " Did anyone ask you to give them a 10"?
  3. Just noticed in the app, under need to know, it says "Please note that guests using My Time Dining, may NOT opt out of gratuities" I did not know that.
  4. We have some bids in, but they are not high enough probably. Wouldn't that be amazing to Royal Up???
  5. We got a JS on Brilliance May 5th to Alaska. Ocean view was $1100 and JS was $1400 We are so looking forward to out first suite!
  6. I was told they are only coolers, not fridges.
  7. If you are willing to pay more, they will take it! Call Customer service and talk to them. Have an available Balcony room # or two that you like. Also check the cost as if you were booking a new room. They should charge the new price minus the old one.
  8. Still kicking myself for not leaving Toronto the day before the Xmas storm of the century. Lost our Xmas cruise as all airports were closed for days. Leave now! LOL
  9. It is just one more attempt to make back the losses they had through Covid. Less food choices of lower quality. Less staff, less cabin cleaning. Next we will need to take turns hoising the sails, or cleaning the toilets LOL
  10. You can book once you get on board, so the earliest you can get your boarding time the better. Hubby and I head straight for the Windjammer and book everything right away.
  11. I think they possibly work from the top down, so the Suites get first offers, and they shuffle them up, so then the Balconies get the next offers so they can shuffle them into the now vacant suites. Then the ocean views shuffle up to the balconies and so on.
  12. Was there in October 2022. Water was full of rubbish. It was awful. Still we waded in to cool down, but left abruptly when a condom floated along with me.
  13. Yes they will have more and they are already reduced. As it is the same around the world, finding employees that want to do the amazing hard jobs are few and far between!
  14. You have to remember, they work a LOT more hours per week for that money.
  15. G'day, Can someone tell me, do auto tips go into a huge bucket? Are they then shared out equally among all crew? If I remove my auto tips, does it just put less in the huge bucket? That would hardly make a dent, unless a lot of people remove the auto tips? We pay the auto tips, as well as give a few cash handshakes at the end. In the scheme of things it isn't very much, and its just part of the cruise fare for us. Hubby works for Wahl and we bring several good quality hair clippers on board as gifts, and give them to the barbers. Does anyone else give gifts that are not money?
  16. I believe that you can always get a second plate and a third, but you can only have one delivered at a time.
  17. After trying for a month to have our account page fixed, My hubby went on to Twitter and Personally messaged them. They suggested several things that we knew did not work. Finally they asked for our Crown and Anchor numbers. Both mine and Hubbys . Finally they fixed them!
  18. All new ships were ordered before Covid-19 They have not placed any new orders since then.
  19. G'day, Australia has a general no tipping policy. Across all industries. Lowest rate of pay in Australia is $21.38 Unlike some countries, very few people are on minimum wage. Employers are expected to pay their employees and not expect their customers to make up wages.
