  1. For some reason, I booked on points for the deal earlier in the year and see a $100 bar bonus and DBE on my "add ons." Does this mean I will actually get these?
  2. Sailing in a few weeks and just noticed a $100 bar tab bonus and deep blue extras on the app and website under my name. I did a status match but it was denied because my first booking and only current booking was using the points special they ran earlier in the year. Does this mean I really have deep blue extras? And is this a free $100 bar tab or do I need to buy a 300 bar tab to get an additional 100?
  3. You can ask for two vouchers to be credited instead and will get 50 off per person each way. But you should hurry as it may already be too late.
  4. I thought I read that some XL don’t have hammocks. That’s why I was reluctant to put in an upgrade.

    Pickleball?

Do they provide rackets and balls?
  6. Not surprising but can anyone verify the price increases? And how about for the cocktails on the menus—have these also increased? Does anyone have recent menus as the ones posted reflect what might be the previous pricing?
  7. Sorry if I missed this but did you not try SALT yet? I would be curious to see a menu from the Med and I would imagine the food would be delicious for this region.
  8. My wife and I are just a tad n older than you. We were among the youngest on our cruise last summer but still had a blast. We tended to be the last people on the dance floor. The excursions, even the very active ones, were pretty tame for us. But otherwise, we had a blast. We got dressed very smartly each night for dinner and usually ate later than most people, so things were not crowded. We met some really nice people too, but most were older. We were mostly looking for away time for the two of us, so not having a lot of similarly aged people was not a big deal to us. The food, bars, rooms and service were all top notch. Feel free to be more specific with your concerns and I’ll chime in.
  9. And then it’s not in the 10-15 range. You cannot find this type of wine for that price. Do you have the brand? Is it served in all of the restaurants.
  10. I apologize if this is slightly off-topic, but how come these lines carry premium spirits but entry point wines? Is it because the typical consumer knows the spirit brands, but cannot tell the difference between a $10 and $40 bottle of wine? The one exception is champagne, which tends to retail in the $30-$40 range. I guess the thought is that consumers recognize a champagne brand, but not a Napa cab or an Oregon Pinot or a French Sancerre. I just find it ironic that I can get a glass of a $60 single malt scotch at the bar included but need to settle for a very inexpensive glass of wine unless I pay more.
  11. Are the drinks the same as regular menu with same prices?
  12. First VV cruise. I booked with the points special mentioned on this board so no status matching available and no free bar tab either. That’s why I was asking about the possibility of getting a better bonus but it’s no big deal, especially because the trip is free!
  13. Does anyone have a clue about if VV might bring back the buy 300 get 100 bar tab offer. We already have a trip booked. The current promo we booked is only for $50. Would we even be eligible for the additional bar tab if it was increased after booking?
  14. Is there an ideal restaurant to eat at for Scarlet Night? I am thinking the Wake because it is the most formal restaurant from what I’ve read, but I’m open to suggestions. Also, do you have a recommendation on when to eat at Test Kitchen? I was thinking of eating there on the second and fifth nights so we can try both menus. Given the late lunch on the first night, I did not want a six course meal on sale away, but maybe I am wrong here. Also, does anyone know what the latest happy hour schedule is and times? How big are the deals? I’m asking because this will affect whether we pre-pay a bar tab.
  15. Yes, I have read every menu. Just like on land, I visit a restaurant's website to examine the menu but that doesn't preclude me from trying to get reviews about the place. Of course, a handful of people is not as helpful as hundreds of people on Yelp, but it's a start. I'm grateful to all of the constructive advice people have given about what they would skip, what time to eat, and how to get the most out of my 5 nights.
  16. We will be sailing on a 5 night voyage on Scarlet Lady out of Miami. I would be grateful for any advice on where to reserve (or if not available in advance what to aim for) with restaurants and shows. We ideally would like to eat at 7:30 most nights but can adjust based on your advice. We’d like to make it to the marquee events like the Scarlet Party, PJ party, and whatever of the signature shows they’re doing these days. We obviously can’t get to all restaurants in 5 nights. We’re considering skipping the Korean BBQ. It sounds very fun and social but we don’t eat shellfish or pork which is most of the menu (unless you think it’s still worth it). We are foodies so Test Kitchen seems like a must. The general cadence of our nights on a cruise is usually a pre-dinner drink, meal, show, and then dancing late. Where should we eat, at what time, and in what order to help us have an amazing time? Thank you in advance!
  17. Trying to secure biz class tickets from the US to Europe on miles to come in a week early. I am wondering if I can use Silversea's air program for only the way back on a Door to Door fare. Would I simply only get 1/2 of the air credit if this is possible? I would probably fly economy back since I try to stay up on return flights from Europe. A related question is if I can't secure a miles based ticket, can I use Silveursea's air program to fly biz one way and economy the way back?
  18. Can the $25 fee be taken from your prepaid bar tab? Also, will they store wine and transfer it to another restaurant if it is not finished?
  19. The voyages I have been looking at all went up about 10% from the previously listed port to port prices. So the port to port prepaid is pricing as the old port to port fares, but now with 100% cancellation fee. This is definitely in the wrong direction.
  20. Agree about the bread being so bad and Arts Cafe to have minimal offerings. La Terazza was outstanding as was Silver Note. for bars, we were on the Silver Moon recently and just went to SALT Bar. It was by far the best on the ship. The other bars were fine but just not as creative if you want an interesting cocktail.
  21. On my Silver Moon cruise last month, I wore a jacket every night. I brought five blazers and one dark suit with me. I enjoy dressing up. However, many times I would pair a blazer with smart jeans. I never got any looks or questions for wearing jeans and thought my looks were some of the best on the boat (ha!) What I’m saying is you’re eating in nice venues and should dress appropriately to the setting and meal. The dress code is trying to get to that environment but there is also some common sense too. And there should be some latitude too.
  22. Masks not required in the gym. Gym was mostly empty so it was not an issue for me. Masks required for Venetian Lounge. There is a big sign requesting them and staff pass them out. By the end of voyage, compliance dropped quite a bit. Masks required on tour buses. Compliance was pretty good.
  23. Yoga and Pilates. There is a nice sized studio for classes. the jogging track was pretty empty every time I was there and easy to navigate. Lunch was only available on the pool deck day of embarkation. We were turned away from Atlantide but people were eating there. Maybe we arrived too late, just before 2:00.
  24. I've put my impressions of the last week of this voyage in this thread here:
