Yup you got it. You can try turning on airplane mode and just connecting to your Wi-Fi at home. If you have Wi-Fi calling enabled, you should be able to make calls and text like normal. If it doesn't work, look for Wi-Fi calling in your phone settings and make sure it's enabled. You'll have to set your 911 address if you haven't done so. On cruise you are doing the same thing using voom.

Voom is a suite perk only on quantum and Oasis class ships. People always seem to ask when they are not on that class of ship so def check.

When you have 25 mil... Long as you aren't blowing it on multiple million dollar houses, or giving it all way you prob don't need to save costs by cruising carnival. While chances are high they would do private cruises on yachts instead, if they had family I can see them doing Star class on a royal for all the activities. They prob think it's a bargain lol. That's why I said "could be up to"... For all we know there's a bunch that love royal and book up all the star cabins all the time. We have millions of people in the US so plenty of people making that $.

Curious so did some googling... Looks like net worth for top 0.1% in US was about 25 million... ( 1 in 1000) Also top 1% makes about ~700k a year so on (10 in 1000) Given a ship has roughly 5000 people there could be up to 50 people 1% and 5 people in top 0.1%, so very possible people just have that sort of $. We have many people in the US making a ton of money lol.

And of course if you're making family memories and only cruising every couple years even 10k pp isn't bad. I was just saying yes relative to how much net worth you have... If you have 5 mil that's basically 200k of free money that your wealth is generating a year without you doing anything.

Newer model car... Depreciating asset. Choices you make. Don't get me wrong I do the same. I could spend the money on 20k suites but why when I can take a bunch solo in an interior or a Jr suite when my wife comes along for the double points. Why waste the money... Now if your net worth was over 5mil... Then it's an easier decision.

Yes if they are refundable on board credit which from a travel agent is usually refundable. On the ship you can check the type via app or TV billing area. It'll refund to your credit card on file after cruise.

Not saying who is right or wrong but this gave me a mental image of the subway staff with a clipboard pretending to write down the temp of the area where the veggies were stored for inspection... Lol If it's not automated and digital easy enough to write down what the values are early in the day when everything is good. Either way if you see kids bobbing for apples in the hottubs prob best to avoid.

Chlorine/bromine you knew what I meant. Pretty sure urine has to be fresh (and yours) to be "ok" to drink. And any urine in the tub is prob way passed due... 😉. Def agree on your statement on #2 cleanliness. When I do feel the need to use the hot tub (usually for muscles after flowrider or cold temps) I'll use the near by shower immediately after I get out and then shower back in the room when able. I use fancy air drying bidets at home so I know the differences between tp, wipes, bidet, and shower 😜

Just saying Pinnacle would freak if points reset. If comparing to airlines or hotels... They do use "lifetime" points to reward status as well which is basically similar to what royal is doing which makes sense since most of their customers are leisure travelers. Most people with high status on airlines and hotels are business travelers so not really a good comparison. Having said that.. being able to spread diamond and diamond plus status with people who only went on one cruise who then turn around to share with family forever doesn't make sense at all lol.

You do realize Pinnacle is 700 nights if done one point at a time? Pinnacle people would freak out if they had to redo this even every 5 years lol I think Royal realizes they can't use the same system as hotels since most people don't cruise all the time like CC folks lol. Most people do 1-2 a year which would mean they would be gold forever lol. I think just need to fix the ridiculous passing of the diamond/diamond+ benefits to anyone who lived in the same house forever then let them pass it on to their houses lol. That's just silly.

That's why they chlorinate the pools and hot tubs but I doubt the level in hot tubs so never let water near your mouth (seeing kids diving in the hot tub is gross) and def rinse off in the shower literally right next to most hottubs soon as you get out.

I would if I saw others do it but now I just wash after since no one seems to care before so why waste my time lol. But I think I've literally seen no one else use the showers after the pool/tub except me. Any one who swims regular knows lol

The showers are usually hotter than the hot tub so not really refreshing but it's def good for washing off after using the pool which I rare see anyone else do lol

You were lucky you didn't have some eating ice cream which is conveniently right next to the tub. This is the reason why I stopped going during spring break.

They do count. We usually get two at the start of cruise and just keep exchanging them all cruise. Usually on the last day we'll have a note from the towel police to make sure to return our towels. Of course if you are in a suite sometimes they don't even swipe your card to begin with.

I am sure people will be upset but how else is royal to stop the ridiculous hack of your child who didn't earn diamond passing on that unearned status with their significant other and children... And on and on. Especially when they are giving all those drinks for free. It's unsustainable without doing something to stop the diamond virus. Of course if your children got enough points to be diamond by being on the cruises then they def should have the status as well when they turn adult and still be able to spread the virus 😜 It just sounds like they fixed/updated the way they track relationships in their system/database to properly track status. Which in the long run will make it better for the people that actually earned the status and not a kid who is now an adult who inherited status by just going on one cruise with a parent who was diamond/d+. This would also fix other relationship issues like separation/divorce status.
