  1. I think the new blocks look better but maybe I am in minority. I like seeing the blue ocean and the colors on the ship.
  2. The best part about having only one device account is you don't even need to log off. Whoever needs to use can just log in and boot off whoever was last on. Very simple and easy. Gets a little more complicated if sharing multi device account if you want to make sure certain devices stay connected (then you would need to track which device is connected and log off).
  3. Understood just sharing info. UDP is a discounted way of getting lots of specialty dining. If you bought each specialty dining separately it costs way more which is of course what royal prefers which is why they get priority on reservations/time slots. I am not suggesting anyone who can't afford to tip extra to tip extra... Royal set the recommended tip amount so def don't pay extra if you can't and prefer not to.... But if service is outstanding and you like your server and want to see them again during the cruise more times doesn't hurt to be generous.
  4. Never said banks were going to disappear just saying need for tellers have drastically gone down since the ATM and it's only going to get worse. I would guess they would still need people for loans and taking large deposits but even that is iffy? Also the recent news of smaller banks taking risks in bad investments or even just bad appearance causing mass withdrawals causing banks to fail... Crazy to watch
  5. I think it's more like if you get a 1/2 off coupon at a nice local restaurant you may tip more than the 20% since you got such a good deal. Comparing to your friend who got something different is not a good comparison. Eg. You both get same steaks but you got yours for 1/2 price so if you both only paid 20% technically you pay way less.
  6. I hope otherwise and you get to enjoy many long years of cruising! Also depending on your location (older population) you may be perfectly ok to continue as you do! πŸ˜‹
  7. By the sound of things bank tellers are perfect cases for automation replacement sadly so in the not so distant future (10 years?) even local banks will mostly be automated for getting cash and will require a card or other identification. I am mid 40s and I think I go into a bank maybe once a year and use an ATM maybe once a month if that. Unless you run a business and make lots of deposits in cash? Every time I went into my local bank it was like a ghost town and you can tell the tellers were concerned about the lack of foot traffic. Even more so now with some of these smaller banks gone over night with what's going on.
  8. Much respect for admitting it's about you though. πŸ˜‹
  9. Nice smooth riding...(Ollie next?) Sure your son will catch up in no time. Learning how to stop 360s been there lol. Thanks for the video.
  10. In circulation could mean sitting collecting dust in random banks somewhere... The example that one guy who said they have $2 bills regularly at his bank but mentioned the bills were sequential should tell you they aren't well used lol.
  11. I knew you couldn't stay away being one of the strongest backers for the $2 movement πŸ˜‰
  12. I wouldn't worry about it in your scenario. You were bequeathed the stack of $2s so just give them out or use them as cash like normal. Not worth freaking out and exchanging. If you're worried it'll be taken wrong just saying sorry for the $2 when you give them out lol. Def don't write cute (creepy) notes on them like someone mentioned earlier and no winking/grinning after handing them over.
  13. Personally I wouldn't tip extra if the service was slow and mediocre since tip is already included. From experience though we've always gotten really good service from specialty dining. Remember this is extra tip so only do so if you feel generous and had a good time.
  14. We like to stay connected and available so dog sitter can reach us so we usually get one voom package to share and then 4 days before cruise ends we'll use the D+ benefit if we really need the extra bandwidth. Also I've confirmed hot spot does work on pixel 3 and 6 but I usually just pack a travel router since it doesn't drain the phone battery and it's good to have for hotels as well for convenience.
  15. My fav on Oasis... Burnt ends and ribs. Is it the best bbq in the USA? No def not but it's pretty good for a cruise ship! I was even happy with the banana dessert thing. I tried all the items and wasn't impressed with the brisket or sausage but burnt ends and ribs were very satisfying.
  16. Auto grats go to your room steward and other hotel staff you don't see as well. Just saying your not paying much in tips for the UDP. Feel free not to tip extra, just mentioning you're getting a great deal already if you're feeling generous. Shrug.
  17. Yeah we used to take a lot back to the room after covid restart and if it was after 10pm would leave it outside the room for pick up over night or just stack it on the trash bin during the day. It was picked up every time without issues. Only time I've had stuff taken when I wanted to keep it was when I had stock piled a bunch of soft ranger cookies on the desk on a plate... Now that made me sad when it was gone lol.
  18. 18% if doing UDP isn't that much total tip for all the eating you will be doing. Of course extra tipping isn't required but def nice. Let's said UDP for 7 night is 300 that's 360 with 20% tip. Given you'll prob do 7 dinners, 7 lunches, x extra snack locations eg pre-dinner sushi. You are getting a steal of a price and only paid $60 tip for all those meals.
  19. I do the same for two people but that's usually with paying the individual meal price. We never do udp since that would make us over eat. Considering you have 6 I am sure they would be happy with anything extra. Just don't give them a bunch of $2s πŸ˜‹ unless that's all you have then that's ok too lol.
  20. If you don't like to put it outside just stack it on top of the trash bin in the room. I would guess the room Steward may have gotten complaints when he/she cleared something the guest wanted to keep and didn't assume. Shrug.
  21. Same and I use bank of America. Usually do $100s and $20s on normal withdrawals. Most people use plastic these days, but doesn't hurt to have some cash for places that require it. Unless I am going on a cruise and then will get $1s, $5s, $10s, $20s and $100s (just for casino table games). I used to use $50s for tips but with people complaining about stores not taking $50s due to counterfeiting issues switched to $20s.
  22. Why not singles and make it rain? πŸ˜‹ But if you're serious and want to be nice $20s would be best in that scenario? πŸ˜‰
  23. True but more likely to be potentially surrounded by voom police if they wanted to find you. I mainly just use mine in the cabin at night so my wife can watch movies while I browse which is easy enough to do on one connection. If we were both watching movies I'd get 2 accounts for the extra bandwidth.
  24. Funny part is with all the $50 counterfeiting going on many places won't even take $50s which is extra annoying since most atms used to mainly give $50s. Now atms are back to $100, $20, $10s.
