  1. Nah, if it were Spirit or Frontier I'd agree with you. But I think Southwest is TBTF.
  2. We had a similar situation in 2018 with a hurricane. We ended up renting a car in Maryland and driving down to Florida the day before the cruise. We got as far as St Augustine and spent the night, finishing the drive in the morning. If you rent from Avis, there's a city office to return at just on the mainland not far from the port. You'll pay about $200 in drop fees ($0.20/mile) for the one way rental, but there's peace of mind. Rent another for the return, or take your chances with a flight back.
  3. They were selling them on the first day of our Spirit cruise earlier this month. They were selling them on the Lido deck, full of Fun Ship Special. I only saw them on the first day.
  4. Because they've sailed it to Alaska for years and years with no issues.
  5. That's the kind of talk casinos love!
  6. Play a 3 point molly (pass/odds/come/odds/come/odds) and you can play half the night on $100 unless you get a really bad break. Stay away from the center of the table. Dealers will try to talk you into hard ways and horn bets. Don't let them. Remember, there's a reason they want you to play them.
  7. Yup. My craps philosophy on 2x ship tables is to play only if it's a fast moving, fun table, and even then only for a short period. I don't mind riding the fence and breaking even for a while if it's a fun table with lots of action.
  8. Yup. The only good thing about that is you can't lose money too fast. You can play a 3 point molly all night on a small stake. Of course you won't win much either....
  9. Good luck, it's also hit or miss on table atmosphere too. One of the reasons I enjoy craps is because a lively table can be tons of fun. Earlier this month on Spirit we had a good table going until a group of people showed up that killed it. There were three of them and together they were doing all kinds of stupid ***** like ambiguous last second bets, throwing chips in the wrong place, complicated bets, and just generally trying to confuse the hell out of the dealers. It slowed the pace of the table to a crawl, led to them bringing in an extra dealer to help keep an eye on things, and basically killed the vibe at the table. Very disappointing as it was a fast-paced and fun table. I was $340 up when I colored up, and probably would have played much longer had they not killed the table.
  10. Nope, no limit. I think you may be limited to how many you can use in a single transaction, but you can conduct as many transactions as you like.
  11. The question wasn't about whether it was worth it or not. It was simply how much a $24 drink would cost under Cheers.
  12. There's no reason you have to chit chat with anyone at all. The table is huge - it's not your normal MDR table.
  13. That's the $1 "Lucky Ladies" side bet. And yes, the minimum is $6, which is a way of forcing you to make the horrible side bet if you want to play for $5/ hand. Otherwise you could play for, say, $10/hand with no side bet. FAIR WARNING: BJ PAYS 6:5 ON THESE TABLES, not 3:2. That's the difference between a 0.5% house edge and a 2% house edge.
  14. Able-bodied or not, I don't really want to be three inches from the person in front of me in an enclosed space! I won't even get on if more than 2-3 people are already on. I'll take the stairs, even though a single floor takes me 4-5 minutes.
  15. Exactly. I can't believe how many people will pile on an elevator to avoid one or two floors of stairs.
  16. What do you consider "basic strategy" in craps? Based on your screen name, I'm not sure we agree on what that is 🤔 But to answer your question, three weeks ago, Spirit's craps table was a $5 minimum. They have HORRIBLE odds though. If you think 3-4-5 is bad, Carnival's odds are capped at 2x, which takes away the biggest advantage a player has on the craps table. Even so, making the smart bets only, you can play a good while. Just don't let the dealers talk you into stupid ***** like prop bets. They try really hard to sucker you into horn bets and hard ways.
  17. Elevators! Out of all the places on the ship, this irritated me the most. The Spirit was NOT crowded when we sailed a few weeks ago, but people will pack elevators like sardines to avoid waiting for the next one. Have we learned nothing at all from the last three years?
  18. You're going to have to collect your luggage at least long enough to swap bag tags, but if you really don't feel like lugging them I would bet a generous enough tip would get a porter to take them to another terminal for you.
  19. Never had that problem. You aren't forced to socialize with your tablemates. In fact, besides the person you're there with, you're only really in speaking distance to one other person. None if you're on the end of the row.
  20. Think about it - if the reservations aren't PIN-linked, what's to keep me from signing you up for something you don't want? Is customer service just supposed to "take your word for it" that you're authorized to schedule a steakhouse for Aunt Judy and Uncle Bob? The only other option is to do what Butterfly girly said and hope for the best. This is risky, though, because there's no guarantee you'll get the 6 or 8 open slots you're hoping for at a particular time.
  21. Are you sure about that? Only a "few hundred" in play gets one a free casino cabin? That doesn't sound right.
