  1. It can vary between ships/chefs. I have one from the Spirit a few weeks ago I'll see if I can dig up.
  2. So now I'm confused. You want to be able to book things for them (like the steakhouse) but don't want to make changes to their booking. The problem is, you can't have it both ways. The reason the planner couldn't make THEIR reservations is because you don't have permission to make that request. You only get that permission by getting their reservation PIN and linking their booking to yours. And yes, that does give you more than just the ability to reserve the steakhouse. Simply booking a restaurant, though, won't make any other mysterious changes to their bookings. We have done this many times, it's quite useful when you're managing a large group and acting as your own sort of mini tour director. Linking reservations also ensures you'll get the same table in the MDR and your group won't get separated on shore excursions.
  3. Whatever. Personally, that's what I would expect a child to say, not an adult. Rules exist to ensure civility.
  4. Just link all the bookings and one person can make reservations for anyone in any of the cabins. We did exactly that with three bookings earlier this month. The only place we found this DIDN'T work was the Chef's Table. Each cabin got separate dining assignments for that, but we were able to straighten that out with the Maitre D' at the steakhouse on night 1.
  5. It's not 8 days, you know... It's 14. But don't worry about the temperature onboard - you can listen to people who "have their doubts" that the cabins are heated, or you can listen to people like me that have already cruised on the very same ship (Legend) to cold climates (Alaska) and can tell you for certain that the cabins are kept warm. In fact, some nights the cabins were so warm we had to prop doors open to get some cool air to avoid sweating to death. Now they may or may not be having a problem RIGHT NOW with heat, I don't know... But the problem is NOT that the ship "doesn't have heat in the cabins". That's ridiculous.
  6. No one said dressing up equates to being a grown adult. What was said was respecting rules equates to being a grown adult. Perhaps you should read a little better before you go on the defensive.
  7. It's entirely up to you. Wife and I always order at the same time (both with cheers). Depending on the bar, sometimes we add $2, sometimes more, especially with all the hard work they do at Alchemy. There's a difference between crafting a 6-ingredient cocktail and popping the top on a can of beer. Do what you feel is right and you'll always be right.
  8. We were recently in a balcony on Spirit. As we had an oxygen concentrator using the only electrical outlet in the cabin, we looked around for USB ports to charge a phone from when we hit on the idea that maybe there was one on the back of the TV. From this we found that A) yes, there IS one on the back (although not powerful enough to charge a phone), and B) it's next to impossible to get behind the TV because it's bolted down with no way to move it out. You can barely peer behind it and have to "feel around" by hand. Good luck connecting anything to it. (Cabin 6128).
  9. By comparison, we had the exact opposite experience on Spirit serenity. It was 12/3 - 12/11 and Serenity was never crowded. Always room at or in the pool. I guess it depends on when you go.
  10. It was absolutely on an elegant night on our last cruise. In fact, there was a chef's table EVERY night, including both elegant nights. We had booked the chef's table and so did our kids and we got assigned different nights. We were able to fix it only by getting another couple to change nights because they had a full house of 14-16 every single night.
  11. True, but shouldn't grown adults respect the rules without overt "enforcement"? Isn't that kind of the definition of civility?
  12. You're absolutely correct. The scenario he described is called a "hidden city", "hidden stopover" or "point beyond" ticket, open jaw is as you described.
  13. Nonsense! It's Carnival! Wear that T-shirt and shorts to the MDR with pride! On our Spirit cruise earlier this month we actually had a couple of guys wear those ridiculous tuxedo T-shirts on both elegant nights.
  14. Likewise, there are a ton of people that think finding $5/day cringe-worthy is a likely indicator that the cringers should maybe consider spending their money on something other than cruising and boozing, yeah?
  15. Lol, I think you were just luckier. I don't think they change the payouts and make them looser. We got off the Spirit as you were getting on (12/3 - 12/11). Had a great time and you're right, T-O-double-D is great.
  16. Despite the conspiracy theorists, it's not "fishy" or "suspect". I've been getting them every few weeks for both of my currently booked cruises. As others have said, just ignore them and pay on time. There's no reason to let Carnival hold your money any longer than they have to.
  17. Ditto what Rothko1 said. Just got off on Wednesday. Had a great time.
  18. Hello. We are leaving on a short cruise next Monday from the Port of Palm Beach. We will be returning a rental car at PBI (Palm Beach airport) and are looking for the best way to get ourselves (and our bags) from PBI to the cruise terminal at Palm Beach. I know there is no parking at the terminal (valet only), but is it easy to get a cab or an Uber (or some shuttle service) from PBI to the cruise terminal? How about back to the airport AFTER the cruise? Thanks for any insight.
  19. And this is exactly why you could never run a business. COGS is a real thing, you know. Those milkshakes you steal aren't free.
  20. I did, thanks. Just thought someone might know.
  21. No booze on any ship has ever been an 8oz pour.
  22. You just keep telling yourself that the scumbags stealing $50 a day in sodas, coffees and milkshakes for their kids have nothing to do with rising prices.
  23. I just can't believe people are so open about it. We all know it happens, I just thought those that DID it would at least be somewhat discreet about it or do it in moderation. Boasting about using one Cheers for THREE people to the tune of 20+ drinks a day, all cruise long is pretty brash.
  24. Dishonesty is everyone's business. If it weren't for cheats, prices wouldn't have to account for as much shrinkage, lowering prices for everyone. But hey, at least you're up front about having no moral compass. Your poor kids though - one hopes they are old enough to know right from wrong despite what you're teaching them.
