  1. Thanks! Booked May 30 to June 6. 2026 is a long way off but fun to plan
  2. I started the Disappointed with Bermuda 2026 Itineraries post. I really wanted to sail from Boston and have two nights/three days in Bermuda. Will be driving and both the Boston and Phily itineraries only have an overnight in Bermuda. Didn't want to sail from NYC but the more I have looked into it, the more I am liking it. Was worried about traffic, costs in Manhattan for hotels and parking but the more I read looks like staying in Jersey is an option - cheaper hotels and parking and easy transportation to the Statue of Liberty which would be number one on my must visit list. Either Jersey City or Weehawken - Jersey City easy to get to SOL, Weehawken easy ferry ride to the cruise terminal and also Times Square. Can park at hotel/ferry parking for the week of the cruise. I have no issue using ferry/subway/bus systems for site seeing. Now the big question - May 30 - June 6 or June 6 - 13. Want warm weather and at least one beach day, want to enjoy the ship out door areas and pool. Would a week make a difference? Thought would be going June 6 but the week of May 30 works out to be about 400.00 difference mainly due to 99.00 for third guest that week but not the week of June 6. I don't see any major holidays in Bermuda during either week and don't think would be a price difference for Jersey hotels. I don't want to go later in June or July.
  3. Thank You for the great advice. Cost of the hotel and cost for parking look good and also the ferry for transportation. Good to know about the surrounding area as have never been to the New York area.
  4. Three nights, Wednesday to Saturday starting May 28. 1 King or 2 doubles and a sofa bed. Expect to take train/ferry/subway to get around. Residence Inn in Weehawken NJ looks good, like the idea of using the ferry and parking there while on the cruise. Or something in Jersey City. Looks like I have a few options within my budget. Was concerned about the areas I was looking at but as I continue reading reviews and older posts on this forum both sound like good options.
  5. It will be a drive of less than 7 hours for us. Would need to pay to leave the car at the airport, less than cruise port though. NJ is looking like the best option for us. Would be the very end of May after Memorial Day weekend.
  6. Will be driving to New York and staying 2 - 3 nights before the cruise and will need a hotel with parking. Will be driving from the hotel and will park at the cruise port. Since will be coming from Canada and with the exchange rate trying to keep the costs down. Read through the forum and looked at some hotels recommended but Manhattan hotel parking is very expensive and most only valet. Started looking at some of the hotels in Jersey City and parking isn't as expensive and could find hotels within budget. Since there are three adults in the room need a room that has a sofa bed. Hyatt looks nice but doesn't have a sofa bed but sounds like a rollaway could be brought in. Doubletree does have rooms that have a sofa bed and also appears to be nice. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Museum are the main things we want to do. Better suggestions for area to stay?
  7. For me has to have two overnights in Bermuda that is the reason for the cruise. Planned to drive and wanted to stay in Boston. Philly would also work but again just an overnight in Bermuda. Don’t want to drive into NYC.
  8. April too early for me for Bermuda. Hoping for June with two overnights. Still lots of time to plan. If not NCL might have to do Celebrity but would be NY/NJ and not Boston.
  9. Boston seems to have the Breakaway with Halifax and just one night in Bermuda for 2026. Maybe Jewel will be out of NYC for 2026 but would have preferred driving and spending time in Boston. Will see what comes up and big thing will be prices. Can't see both being out of Boston but who knows.
  10. I also saw the NYC to Bermuda but yes March and April. Definitely want June and three days in Bermuda. I hope that there will be more itineraries released. I just checked the Jewel and there is nothing listed past March 2026. Fingers and toes crossed that Jewel will be back to Boston/Bermuda.
  11. Was waiting for the 2026 itineraries to be released. Was waiting for the two night in Bermuda and realized that Bar Harbor might not be there in 2026 but was hoping for Portland or even an extra sea day. For 2026 it is Boston, Sea Day, Halifax, Sea Day, Bermuda, Bermuda, Sea Day and Boston. Wanted to drive to Boston, stay a few days and then be in Bermuda for two nights. Don't want Halifax but could live with it if it was still two nights in Bermuda. Guess won't be NCL for 2026 for me.
  12. Looks wonderful. Yes I heard about paying to use the washroom, at least they have some.
  13. Sounds like there will be more than enough to do during the free time on excursion. While I know the excursion can't be 8 hours as we are there 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, will eventually book it and see how much time we have when we get there. Want to get the most out of our time there and not worry about getting back in time.
  14. Figure I will book it and see how long it actually is. We arrive at 10:00 am, tour starts at 10:30 and ship leaves at 6:00 pm. So won't be 8 hours for sure....
  15. We just did something similar. We have been to Hawaii a few times and had planned to return always renting a condo in Maui. Due to the fires in Lahaina we had our condo cancelled and after many years returned to cruising. I was always a warm weather, beach, caribbean vacation person but sailed out of Southampton this year for northern Spain and France with Princess. The cruise was amazing and fell in love with London. Didn't miss the warm weather which surprised me (coming from Canada that has enough winter). Decided to return to sailing from Southampton next year and heading on a cruise that includes Geiranger and Flam with Celebrity. Train is a must for my husband. We do one big trip a year also so decided on Norway for 2025.
  16. Recently returned from a Princess cruise and found there excursion information to be vague and incorrect and the call center could provide no answers prior to the cruise. I will be on Celebrity next year and there is one excursion that I want to book. In Bruges there is a tour that includes a shuttle, city tour, canal tour and 4 hours of free time. It lists the duration as 8 hours and starts at 10:30. We are only in Bruges from 10:00 - 6:00 pm so this doesn't seem possible. Is there information usually incorrect?
  17. One thing that I find confusing - when I went back to look at the excursions - it starts at 10:30 and is listed as 8 hours in duration. We are only in Burges from 10:00 - 6:00 pm so don't see how it could possibly be and 8 hour tour.
  18. Thank You !!!! It is great to hear from those that have been there and experienced it first hand.
  19. So easy to get back with the shuttle? Sounds easy to get one there just concerned getting back. Do the run hourly? Prefer to be able to stay as long as we want and not tied to the ship excursion time.
  20. The canal tour sounds very nice and need to of course buy chocolate. Was just reading about the Old Chocolate House tea room - looks perfect.
  21. I did read through many and watched some on youtube, only worry is there had been problems with shuttles having issues getting back - very few though. Used to be adventurous and never took ship excursions until our independent shuttle was in an accident once. Might consider taking a shuttle still but want something booked for now until I research more.
  22. I know, 45 mins would be too short. I found the old chocolate tea room that is open till 5:30 that sounds nice. Horse and carriage around the square open until 6 pm. I would be very picky as a friend keeps horses and they would need to be well cared for and I know what to look for. We will be there on a Friday in mid- May so no worry that it will be too hot. Sounds like we would need to leave by 6 pm for it to be an 8 hour excursion so might be good.
  23. I will be taking an excursion from Celebrity when we dock in Zeeburgge. There are three tours that I am looking at, one is 4 hours and 45 mins, the second is 5 hours and 3rd is 8 hours. All start with a shuttle into the city center of Bruges (30 min each way) and a walking tour of the city. One includes a chocolate Demo and free time (doesn't list how long the free time is), another includes a 30 min canal ride with 45 mins of free time and the 8 hour includes a 30 min canal ride with 4 hours of free time. Other ports we aren't taking an excursion as can walk from the ports (Nordfjrodeid, Geiranger, Flam). Have the Flam train excursion booked but will cancel if I can book the train on my own (not going until May 2025). Worried that 8 hours will be too long and what will be open as the excursion starts at 10:30 (we arrive at Zeeburgee at 10:00). Love chocolate but the canal ride might be nice. All three are close in price.
  24. Don't know how to move this, but will post under - British Isles/Western Europe
