  1. Ship: Ascent Length of Cruise: 7 day Cruise Sail Date: Dec 24 2023 Date email offer received: I kept checking online Captain’s Club Tier: Elite Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA Current Cabin: Porthole OV Bid? Yes/No: YES If YES - Bidding Details: Cabin Category: AQ Bid Offer: 175 PP (min) Notification Date: Dec 8 Accepted / Rejected: ACCEPTED Notes: I bid on everything that had a balcony. AQ and down. Bid everything at min, but didn't drop the bids for the BF sale. Bid was accepted, but got an email that my payment was rejected, it was a credit card mess up. Called in, and managed to get the bid accepted.
  2. Pretty much the same reports that I have read. Don't want to risk the breakage in the checked bags. Might do two in each of our carry ons, but not sure if we'll even have space, lol
  3. On the Ascent in two weeks. First time going in years, and first time I haven't had a drink package in at least ten. I've heard the carry on is one bottle per person now. Has anyone taken more than one ea and gone through? Anyone put an extra bottle in their checked bag successfully lately? Yes, I am aware of the implications of visiting the naughty room if they find it.
  4. Oh, to correct: I would never buy a used/pre-loved Rolex on board. I have a trusted AD for that, and for my service. I don't mind window shopping and trying on, however! What's on your wrist when you walk in definitely gets the case open quicker...
  5. I'd be interested in hearing what brands are on offer these days. A few years ago on S-class, Omega was heavily advertised, and there were a few used pieces that were decent.
  6. I get emails from both numbers, addressed to to the people on each account. I asked Captain's Club to remove my email from the other number, they refused. Even though it is my email.
  7. I really excited this is happening right before the Ascent takes on passengers. I'm sure it is a relief for their kitchen staff as well!
  8. Excited. I'm on the Dec 24th sailing. Newest ship I've been on.
  9. Thanks, got it to work on the above link. Had forgotten that it doesn't work on my Firefox browser, only Chrome. My three offers are still pending. No idea if there are other bids, or if I'm too low.
  10. Is this on the app or the mobile page? I have three MoveUp offers in, and have no idea how to check on progress. <edit> tried on my phone as well, still tells me my reservation is locked. If I go to MoveUp, enter my name and res #, it just comes back to the same login page.
  11. Every Dec 25th sailing I have been on has had turkey. Like that 2019 menu above.
  12. Looks like enabling notifications worked. Just got a Move Up email! Put in for a few, we'll see what happens. How long does it usually take for an offer to be accepted or rejected?
  13. Good call, I actually started the RC for this sail date, haven't checked it for weeks! I added some info to my post above. It wasn't booked through the big box, but a TA in the US. I will check to see if I have promo emails selected, thanks.
  14. No kidding! Can you post what the offers were? Wonder why I didn't get an email. Is it cabin-specific? <edit> Tried the site again, at least something happens now! Got this pop up when I entered my info: Your reservation is not eligible to place a bid at this time. To be eligible to submit a bid the following requirements must be met: Must be 21 years or older. The booking must be paid in full. Travel Agency must be a participating agency in the CELEBRITY MOVEUP program. Bidding opens 90 days before sailing. Please ensure there are no errors in the information you entered Email CelebrityMoveUp@celebrity.com for help with eligibility
  15. I haven't cruised for a few years, the Move Up is new to me. I have tried to check on the site to see if I'm eligible for an upgrade, but nothing happens when I enter my last name and my reservation number. It says below were you enter the info "Eligible reservations on all Celebrity Cruise ships within 30 days of departure date" I'm on the Dec 24th sailing of the Ascent, so I had assumed that I need to be inside the 30 days, but I see the OP here is on a Dec 21st sailing and has received a Move Up email. Can someone clarify what I should do/expect?
  16. Took the non-included fare for my next voyage. Is there any advantage to pre-paying the grats before sailing, or should I just let them be charged to my account?
  17. So what's the real story here? Should I contact Captain's Club before my sailing to get my non-elite cabin mate upped to elite for the cruise, or go see the rep once on board? I specifically took a non-drink package so we could take advantage of my elite benefits (breakfast/HH, etc).
  18. How do they verify the address for the second (non-Elite) member? I always thought the second person in the cabin shared the higher status of their cabin mate.
  19. Hoping that others that have been in similar locations on Edge, etc, can offer advice. The deck plan is the same.
  20. Booked an oceanview GTY on Ascent. got assigned 3097 right away. Any advice from experienced Edge class people? There are lots of other rooms that I could potentially ask to switch to in that cat that are open. The room numbers are different on Ascent and Edge, so here are both deck plans for comparison: Ascent D3: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/deckbydeck.php?ship=Celebrity-Ascent&deck=3 Edge D3 (my cabin on Ascent would be 3105 here): https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/deckbydeck.php?ship=Celebrity-Edge&deck=3
  21. Thanks, that's about what I remembered. My cabin was assigned two days after booking for the Dec 24th Ascent sailing. There are lots of available in my category. Just not sure if I should try to move.
  22. I know we've talked about this in the past, but a search hasn't turned up a result for me. Can you move to a different (same cat) cabin after being assigned when booked on a GTY?
  23. I just booked Ascent for Dec. Hope she's ready to go!
