  1. Yup...12+ only in the Havana area and only for those people staying in that area. At one point in the past the area was opened to all after 700 pm, but Carnival rescinded that option a few years ago. We stayed in the Havana area for two different 8 day cruises on the Horizon out of NYC in 2018 and Miami in 2019. Stayed in an inside, which was a cost saver versus the Cabana and we used the price difference towards Cheers.
  2. Whoa, time to take a chill pill. It all depends upon someone's perspective as to whether or not they wish to get dressed up for "formal" night, "cruise elegant" night or whatever the cruise line calls it. If you get dressed up for your job 5 days a week more than likely you want to relax in shorts and be casual while vacationing. On the other hand, if you work a blue collar job or a casual white collar job, then maybe your significant other wishes you to get dressed up a few nights on your cruise. There is no right or wrong answer, but it is wrong to lambast someone just because they are on the other side of the line in the sand regarding this topic. Cruise lines have relaxed the dress code big time over the last 10+ years starting with NCL. Unless you're cruising on Cunard, there aren't too many entry level lines or even slightly elevated ones like Celebrity, Princess or HAL that make sport coats mandatory.
  3. No decision. After factoring in the 200 in OBC the cost is a wash. You get 6 days in the Havana area versus 5 on the Sunshine in a balcony. The Havana area is substantially larger than your balcony. You get a pool, two hot tubs and the tiki huts as well. And no annoying children. The extra day is the cherry on top of the sundae. I'd choose the Havana area if it was 4 days versus 5, let alone 6.
  4. Self serve stations are available at the Lido buffet as well as adjacent to the Pig n Anchor next to where their mini buffet is open for breakfast. This is on the Celebration as well as the Mardi Gras. Cold unopened cans can be obtained at Java Blue as well as the pizza place on the Excel Class ships and at Java Blue on the Vista Class ships. This is also with Cheers. Still disappointed that Pure Leaf was discontinued sometime last spring since it was enjoyed last February and non existent in August on the MG.
  5. Just a reminder. The taste the world special at Emeril's, which is unique to the Celebration versus the Mardi Gras changes on a daily basis. I believe it consists of an app, an entree and a dessert.
  6. You're learning. You know that all I want is the best for all of my children but your father has already said that your inheritance will be going to your siblings.
  7. If you have so much time to waste it could possibly be better served by reading threads on upper echelon cruise lines that are out of your reach price wise. It would give you something to strive for. 😄
  8. Do you know if there is a Pandora on the Encore? Have 100 in OBC from stocks to spend. 😉
  9. If you don't care about the opinions of people that have already cruised on the Prima regarding your cruise next July, why are you wasting your time reading a thread about the thoughts of previous Prima cruisers?
  10. Bit more upscale on the Prima including Pandora.
  11. Yes, it's the Serenity area and it's about 3 times the size of the Serenity areas on the other ships in the fleet, besides of course it's older sister Mardi Gras. There is a small pool as well as two hot tubs. Also has a bar and on sea days there's a salad creations area that's open for lunch.
  12. That is the understatement of the thread so far. If Carnival had an unlimited dining package similar to RCI, then Rudi's, 555, Emeril's, Bonsai Sushi and Seafood Shack would be in trouble, LOL.
  13. There are various gifts that you could give him that will cost you zero money.🌬️
  14. Very surprised, always considered them to be more like the Grinch.
  15. Typical NCL... goes from 1.00 to 2.26 to 3.50 to 5.00 over the course of 13 months. Similar to the increases with the DSC.
  16. I'm gonna lose sleep tonight knowing that you hated the Love Boat back in the day and even after seeing an old rerun after all of these years. Guess you won't be getting a Christmas card from Charo. 🤣
  17. Wait till the MSC World America comes out in 2025. It will be built specifically for the US and should be more to your liking.
  18. Spent 11 days on the repo cruise from Galveston to Miami. Because of the hype and promotional stuff that came out it seemed like the Prima was going to be a game changer for NCL similar to how the Mardi Gras was a game changer for Carnival. Because of this assumption we booked a B2B on her for February and March while she is still in PC. Have close to 50 cruises under my belt on various lines and the Prima is in the upper echelon. It is different from the other ships in the NCL fleet, exactly like the Excel Class is different than the rest of the fleet with Carnival. Many cruisers don't like change and a certain percentage of loyal Carnival cruisers didn't like the Excel Class because it be was so different than the rest of the fleet. The same could be true with loyal NCL cruisers. Many cruisers go on a new ship with preconceived ideas and compare it to other ships in the fleet. This could be why many people don't like the Prima since it is so different from the other ships in the fleet. There are many things that are great about the Prima and it has yet to be determined as to whether or not there will be any major changes to Leonardo #3 when she debuts in 2025. Hudson's was a beautiful MDR and a great lunchtime option on embarkation and sea days. Our only major complaint was that the buffet closed at 930 on sea days and 900 on port days for breakfast. We're looking forward to our B2B next year and if there is anyone that is hesitant about a future sailing, relax and have a great cruise. Will say that Indulge improves as the day progresses with dinnertime having the better food choices and food quality.
