  1. Getting married on a ship in February, not RCI though. It’s an old ship already, so I know her years are numbered. But it’s the first ship we ever cruised on! And she’s always had a special place in my heart. We had the cruise booked already just for the fun of it, but then decided everything seemed right and decided to get married on that cruise. I’ve considered that someday she’ll be scraped, but it’s just another piece of our story!
  2. I mean, it might seem silly for you, but some people really like those burgers. TBH, my first cruise was on the Carnival Glory in 2018, and really enjoyed getting a nice burger and fries for lunch at the pool. A nice vacation activity, if you will. It was probably one of the things I looked forward to after the restart. Was on the Magic in June this year, and the fries were the crinkle cut deli fries, and the burgers were, decent, but not as good. I can't lie and say it wasn't a little disappointing. With that said though, there are obvious supply issues, so I'm not going to swear off Carnival because of it. All this really to say, some people do look forward to Guy's, there's no reason to judge someone for what they enjoy.
  3. Another yes, but I think you got your answer. 😉 Got bids in right now for a casino comp in October. Minimum bids not as low as I had hoped though!
  4. Was on Oasis in March, and yes, you could set it up, and yes, it was very hit or miss. Mostly miss. Was way too much of a hassle, we just went back to SeaPass.
  5. I book a room I'm happy with for sure, but I have a sailing in October where a suite is $7000 to book outright. Never would I pay that amount of money. However, it was a casino comp balcony, and my bids to upgrade are at $1000 each, so $2000 total. That is a $5000 difference. I'll take the Royal Up offer. If I get it, hurray! If I don't, well then I'm off the hook for 2 Gs. Not sure why people are so anti-RoyalUp. Sure, there are some issues. People have issues with standard bookings too.
  6. Yes, agree! However, it looks like the last date they have for next year is October - I tend to cruise in November - February. I have cruises booked already for this November and February 2023, so can't squeeze one, and definitely not a spring/summer cruiser. So I'm curious if they periodically add more, or if that's it for the year.
  7. Hello! Can anyone give some info on the "list" of Premier cruises - are these set like, once per year or something? I'd really like to grab one of these, but can't make any of the current cruises on the list. Will they add more periodically? Or is this it until the next cycle comes out? And if I don't book one of these, will I receive the next invitation? Any info here is appreciated!
  8. Lol, yeah, this might be low-balling a little. I know I'm a big proponent of "not having to spend much to get casino offers". But I wouldn't expect comped rooms for single digits. 😁
  9. I appreciate your acceptance of points-of-view, however I think the main thing here is OP's title claiming to be disappointed with the location is actually due to OP's own admittance of lack of preparation, and not with the actual location.
  10. Agree all around here. Room service took an hour for us too. It was late at night though, so was willing to give the breakfast a chance, but yeah, waking up an hour before the coffee gets there - Lord help whoever is rooming with me and has to put up with pre-coffee me for an hour. 🤣 I know you can order pizza and stuff through the app - can you do the breakfast? And select a time? If so, I'm fine with this change. If not...
  11. Have to agree with the hanging tags. My brother, who is mostly an RCCL cruiser, is trying Carnival for the first time with us in February. One of his favorite parts is putting that tag on the door the night before for breakfast on his balcony. I'm not even going to try and defend Carnival on this one, I think it's a bad move.
  12. I received a phone call upgrade offer on Magic in June from interior to balcony for $150. Definitely took that! 5 night sailing and had an GYT interior. I’ll say, it’s probably because they oversold and didn’t have a spot, as the sailing was sold out for a while, and then 3 weeks before, they opened up some rooms and I jumped on one. Got a phone call they day before we left with the upgrade offer.
  13. Nope, on the Magic in June they were sad crinkle cut fries. I was really looking forward to those original boardwalk type fries too, was pretty disappointed lol.
  14. You can get the free interior offers pretty easily, really. Just throw a few bucks in a slot machine to get the offers flowing. Now the Big Cheese offers for balcony or even suites take a little more money spent, but I’ll take a free interior!
  15. How does this help? Not being snarky or anything, generally curious as I currently have 2 rooms booked with 2nd guest TBD on each. These might actually end up being unfilled, so trying to figure out the best way to do it. What’s the difference if it’s TBD or a name, other than a possible name change situation?
  16. Intriguing...How spicy is spicy?? 🥵
  17. Kind of in a similar situation! The Carnival Glory was my first ship, and so she has my heart. I actually think it's a great ship, I love the layout, and she might be old, but she is very charming. Of course, she lacks a lot of things that the new ships have. Anyway, we booked another cruise for the Glory for February, and decided to have our wedding ceremony at sea on this cruise! Well, now people want to come along lol. My brother, who is a coming from mostly RC Oasis class ships is trying Carnival for the first time, and I'm a little nervous that this is going to be a very different experience for him and may put him off from Carnival lol. Another friend is joining, and this will be their first cruise! Which I guess is good, because there is nothing better to compare it too, but also worried that it won't give the best representation of cruising can offer. All that to say, I can't speak to your exact situation too much, I haven't been on the Panorama, but I have been on sister ship the Horizon, and I think that ship gives a good representation of the nicer side of Carnival. I would be a lot less nervous for that ship than one of the smaller, older ships that you've experience, like Radiance or Miracle, on a shorter sailing. I had a great time on the Horizon and thought it was a great ship! Not quite RC Oasis class, but had a lot to offer.
  18. They are still sailing down to ABC islands, so I don't think that it's because they aren't going south. Have Grand Cayman booked for February on the Glory, but yeah, they just opened up and from what I hear not a lot of establishments are offering things yet. I think I recall seeing a few going to Tortola?
  19. I mean, nothing wrong with a nice Mai Tai by the pool, but also like to crack a nice can of Truly from time to time. 😁
  20. The cabin hangers with the clips work well to get rid of that middle seam!
  21. That seems like a very random problem that shouldn’t have happened, but I’m glad it got resolved for you!
