We had the Plus package on our 1st cruise last year. For us it was a no-brainer. I budget tightly at home (YNAB for the win!) and we splurge on vacation. On that cruise we had 2 specialty dinners and bought a $99 photo package on the last day. Photos aren’t usually our thing, but they got some great shots of us that would be nice to use at our funerals some day (we know our youngest daughter has secretly started a folder). We booked our 2nd cruise a week after returning home and got 2 other couples to join us. We’re all excited to try out the new Sun Princess. This time we purchased Premier because we know we’ll want to do a couple specialty dinners again as well as casual dining (which wasn’t available on the CB last July), plus we’ll have a lot of fun with the photographers with this group, and my BFF and favorite sister-in-law will drag me to the fitness classes daily, something I never managed to get to last time. We also accidentally exceeded the Plus pkg drink prices a few times last year, but dang those Old Fashioneds were worth it! Premier math made sense for this trip, and we liked walking off the ship last year with a tiny bill (thank you TA OBC, and stock benies). Personally we would never not do a package but we all cruise differently so it’s nice to have options!

Just to add, you don't pay extra when using a TA, in fact you can sometimes get a better deal and/or OBC added.

From my understanding you can prepay gratuities and maybe look into a non-alcoholic beverage package. As for wifi, you will have 2 wifi accounts with your Plus packages that you can share amongst the 3 of you, just won't be able to all 3 be on it at the same time.

One of the suite benefits on older ships is complimentary access to the Thermal Suite which is also an adult only area. This isn't something new to Princess or the industry.

The same way they break them up when the kids go to the kid's clubs. There are plenty of "kid" spaces on the Sun in addition to the clubs. Families can enjoy the Lido deck pools if they want to be together, in addition to the Wake View and Dome pools as well. The Sanctuary is just that, a sanctuary which should be quiet and tranquil. That's simply not going to happen if they allow kids. If anything the Sun is lacking in adult spaces compared to other family lines such as Disney.

Worst case scenario you should be able to cancel and rebook, although I would rebook, then cancel just to make sure you get a cabin you're happy with. But I would call first and see if they can just adjust the fare without changing cabins. We were able to rebook a cruise last year when prices went down and we upgraded our cabin for the same price. Our TA handled it all for us, but since you booked direct, you'll need to call Princess.

Precisely why I don't eat at the buffet. However, our next cruise is on the Sun and with the crew serving, it makes that buffet an option if we are in a bind for time.

If there is not one in your closet when you arrive, just ask your room steward.

Don't rely on just listing your special day in the app. Our TA put in our 30th anniversary last year and I double checked to make sure it was listed in the app before embarkation. We had no recognition whatsoever. Nothing on the door screen, no mention from our Room Steward, nothing at our Specialty Dinner at the Crown Grill, nothing. We didn't mention it to anyone onboard thinking since it was included in our app Personalizer, they would know. I'm still sore about it, lol. If you want the recognition, be sure to mention to anyone and everyone!

This has come up numerous times. We actually like the motion lights and only had an issue once with our bathroom door swinging when the ocean was rolling. Closed the door and problem solved. Perhaps if they had lights that could be switched off and had different brightness levels, that would appease all.

We had a cabana on the Caribbean last summer and it came with a bottle of alcohol (our choice as to what) and a mixer.

I would not be in favor of either of these changes. Perhaps adding OBC, but not designated for excursions. OBC would be more flexible, can be used for specialty dining, casual dining, etc.. I would not want to feel obligated to book an excursion just to not waste this "perk".

I would think not. The Thermal Suite on Grand Class ships is included with suites, but the Enclave on Royal Class is not.

Take turns getting up to get drinks. My husband admittedly goes to the bar more often than I do, so when we order through the Medallion, I place the order to help even it out.

That's exactly what we did!! We were in F301 and LOVED that cabin!! The location is perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to book that room again. Didn't miss the balcony one bit and enjoyed all the full suite benefits. Have a great time!

From the videos I've watched, the Sun has a salt room in the Enclave

According to @CanadianBurger in his recent Live From, guests will be able to use either cabana deck and are not restricted to the port or starboard side regardless of which side their cabin is on.

Yes, that is how passengers in the C2 cabins on deck 9 will have access to the cabana deck.

We booked a cruise in Jul '23 for Feb '25. The fare on that cruise has gone up $1,532 (for 2). We have another that we booked in Jan '24 for Feb '26. That one hasn't really changed much. We did our 1st cruise last July and had booked about a year prior. When the price dropped, we ended up going from a Reserve Collection mini to a Window Suite for the same price! I don't see any downside to booking early.
