  1. Sorry, this is off topic but brings up memories. When I was in Elementary School, Jr. High School, and High School, my parents, (this was in South Florida, during the 50's & 60's), would purchase accident insurance from the school(s) for my brother and I (Back then, I don't think "health insurance" was a thing or not popular, I don't know/remember). There were options for just in school hours and events coverage and/or 24/7/everywhere coverage. My parents got the 24/7/everywhere insurance. And it was a good thing, we got a lot of broken bones, black eyes, cuts, Ring/Hook worm, and so on.
  2. You can keep the Liver & Onions. Oh, Bangers & Mash
  3. We've been on at least 2 cruised that never made it to Roatan (Hurricane/weather). Hoping the 3rd will be the charm. I'm hoping the new terminal in Galveston lives up the the positive reviews I've read about it. I just hope it isn't a cloudy day as it is completely solar powered! That's a joke, BTW
  4. Growing up in Montreal Canada, this is exactly what we used, couldn't afford any fancy schmancy electric juicer. It worked great and my mom made a game out of it for my brother and I, so my brother and I would happily do the OJ thing every Saturday and Sunday morning. Mom was happy to be doing other breakfast things, like cooking the "blood pudding" to go with the eggs. Then, during the Jr. High School and High School, (In South Florida, BTW) "Tang" came into being/popular culture. After all, we all wanted to be astronauts, right!
  5. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy Exceptions can be made for the following sporting goods; however, the item must be stored in the guest’s stateroom and cannot be used onboard. Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, and Golf clubs Skateboards, Surfboards, and Bicycles
  6. Thank you for the very polite response.
  7. This is a question, not a statement: I have, in the past, did a little shipping around for "annual" travel insurance. I decided not to get an annual policy because they're, I'm not sure what to call it, not an unlimited policy. In other words, let's say you purchase a policy in January and it includes a 100K in emergency flight home benefit. In January you have a medical emergency while in Raotan and it took 90K to get you flown home in an air ambulance. Now, you only have 10K remaining for the year which means if there is a second incident, you are only getting a 10K discount. What are the chances of a second incident like this to happen? Slight, for sure. Possible? Yes! Cancelations are fairly common though, which has yearly limits, too. Anyway, my question, did you or anybody else reading this check that out, is that true. My shopping around wasn't a deep dive into it, cursory at best. So, I decided to go with individual, cruise specific policies. Is my thinking wrong?
  8. "Yes dear, I'm sorry you screwed up". Next thing I knew, I was waking up in the ER. Hey, BTW, how's the Snipe Hunting going? You got a good supply of brown paper bags?
  9. My wife does all the packing. If something of mine is missing when we get to where we are going and I try to make a big deal of it, I get the, "tough S*!^, you should have packed it then".
  10. My kids and grandkids steal our Little Debbies, especially the oatmeal ones, out of our pantry every time they visit.
  11. I think the popular consensus is that there is no hard answer to that.
  12. Having lived in Europe (Germany) for 6 years and traveling a lot while there, I can tell you that nudity is not an issue there. Community Sauna's, swiming pool facilities/activities, outdoor activities (beaches), and more filled with whole families, wearing nothing. It's no big deal there. Do I agree with that type of morality, that's not for me to say and definitely not for here. I do disagree with the "hygienic" part of it though. While living in Europe, I quite going to those public saunas after seeing a beached whale get up and that person left a racing stripe behind. I'm sorry, I just don't think leaving unfiltered (regardless of how effective it is or not) undercarriage body fluids behind is "hygienic". Sorry if that was TMI. Just a fact!
  13. I like 'em. But, I call them, "Man Bags". I've got a bit of a collection of 'em. Haven't used one in years though.
  14. This is not intended to be critical of the OP. Just too many variables to answer that type of question. How lazy is one employee compared to the one next to him/her. How well trained is one compared to the other? What is the non-public policy? What kind of mood are they in today? Is one in a good mood and the other not? Oh man, I could go on and on! For me, it's like asking if all Cops will write a ticket for 7 Miles Per Hour over the posted speed limit. The answer is, NO! The trick or luck is to be pulled over by the one('s) that don't. Which is impossible to know until it's too late.
  15. Just as a side note: First, I understand that not everybody can or wants to do what I do! The following is ONLY stating what I do. Any suggestions are welcome. When I leave my home, I turn off my Wi-Fi, on my mobile device(s). If I'm going to my daughter's homes or my buddy's in Texas, I turn them back on when I get there. I do not use public Wi-Fi, period. If I want to use my Laptop in a Hotel Room, for example, I use my phones Hotspot using my phone carrier's (Verizon) data. The only exception is on a cruise, no alternatives on a cruise. But, like I stated earlier, I use PCMatic, Duckduckgo, and Brave. Again, I'm no IT Geek. So, I'm not sure if I'm all that safe on a ship or not. But, I have not had issues with bugs and can't tell you if I've had info stolen.
  16. For sure. The trick? Finding a card holder attachment that works best for you! After a dozen or so attempts, I've found what works best for ME is a retractable ID attachment with a hole in the card. Easy Peasy
  17. That's what, at least on my last Star Cruise in May, the Genie did with WhatsApp. He set it up on all of our phones. I think it actually tracked us, too. Wherever we were/went on the ship, the Genie showed up. Anyway, I was thinking the Royal App could do that, too. I don't know enough about it. I was just hoping.
  18. I read a post in here a while back that if you have a WOW band and the ship had the WOW system installed, pre-COVID, you can bring it onboard and they can reprogram it to work in that ship. I don't know how true that is.
