  1. I just booked a flight on Delta to my NCL cruise... so why wouldn't they do these offers? Maybe it's just Delta's decision. How about Hilton cards? People do stay at hotels before and after cruises. Do the Delta cards have any travel offers? Hotels/Resorts/Car rentals? Probably not other airlines since they are direct competition.
  2. I'm not saying it'll work in this case but you can try at your own risk. I've bought refundable OBC and it's worked for me in the past for Royal, Carnival, and Norwegian offers. When I'm onboard I just get the refund in cash.
  3. It sounds like you're drawing a distinction between the reservation sail date vs. reward "purchase" date vs redemption date. This is typical myVEGAS. They have done the same for RCL comp cruises and those predates the recent NCL ones. I've given up trying to time the rewards. I just get what I can and book right away because this kind of thing comes up. The downside is you can't maximize your value sometimes. I book a comp cruise only to have a better one come up shortly later but I'm in that dreaded 180 day period.
  4. Wasn't there some story about an unpaid airport transfer causing a cancellation? My transfer from South Hampton to Heathrow was $75.
  5. There are no direct links or codes. I still get them even though I've used them many times before, especially for NCL. It doesn't have to be a card that has an annual fee. Being an authorized user doesn't disqualify you. It's one offer per account so if you have multiple cards it will disappear from the other cards once you add it. It's mostly in the US but occasionally I hear people with cards from other countries getting their version of the offer. They are targeted but I haven't heard of anyone breaking the code on why some get an offer while others don't. However, make sure you can see more than 100 offers at a time. In the app, it's limited and you might not be seeing all the offers. Log in with a browser to make sure you are seeing all of them especially if there are over 100 offers. I typically have over 300 offers at a time and try to add them all so I can see everything that's available.
  6. Beverage package terms say "fountain" soda but in practice they don't care and will give you the stuff out of the cans (Sprite, Sprite Zero, Coke Zero, etc.). They seem to run out of Coke Zero so sometimes I have to wait till they resupply or go to a different bar to hunt it down. Asking for the cans is what I prefer so I can stock up in my room and for excursions. Most of the time it will be cold but not always. Some places will refuse this but I just ask another bartender and usually can get them. Sometimes they will pop the tab slightly and give them to me. I've never had a problem with them giving me hard seltzer cans (Truly/Vizzy) without opening them. I've also heard but do at your own risk that if you ask for Coke or Diet Coke which comes out of the fountain, they will not even card you. Usually the pool deck or some place with a lot of people. Europe sailings you might be shorted getting the can because they are slightly smaller. They don't seem to care about the liters of soda I bring onboard from port stops. Even after opening and drinking some. The most I've brought on were two 2 liter bottles in a backpack. The security person acknowledged them but let me keep them. This is the same on Royal and Carnival. I will never drink out of the tap because I doubt they have every tested the water coming out of my cabin tap. The situation would be different for the buffet/restaurant/bar water. Same with ice cubes.
  7. Got $300 back on $750 or more. Two times between family members. I'm so tempted to go on my first HAL.
  8. I believe you can also use a trade confirmation. I'm assuming it has your name on it somewhere. I mean the trade confirmation statement, not the email. For example, Robinhood has a statement that confirms the trade.
  9. They aren't very good with details and consistency. They are a good match for NCL. On the myVIP site it says: "NCL - Evergreen Campaign rewards are limited to 1 purchases in a 180 day period." and for the same reward says this in the Terms and Conditions: "Limited to one Norwegian Cruise Line reward in-app purchase every 60 days. " I wouldn't be surprised if at some point they allow the purchase before 180 days. For me, I'm just going to periodically try and hope NCL lets me use it if I get one.
  10. All slots, all charged to my room. They gave me 2k comps on 40k loss so they probably didn't even consider overall play. 15 day transatlantic on the Prima. Virtually zero historical play. I think I did maybe about $200 in slots a few years ago.
  11. I got that a few months back. So it depends on what you mean by "new" but yeah it wasn't there before.
  12. I started with 0 points so I figure they should at the very least waive any convenience fees after I made Sapphire on the cruise since that's part of the perk. They instead will only do it starting the next cruise. It didn't matter that I had 40k in losses by the end of the cruise and went beyond Ruby status in points. Apparently I was 1 of 3 Rubies and only 1 Elite on the cruise. I'm drawing a distinction between waiving the fees vs comping them at the end based on play. I'm annoyed because they counted the fees towards the comp at the end of the cruise so I ended up paying for some onboard charges out of pocket.
  13. I went from 0 to Ruby on my last cruise. Annoyingly they couldn't tell me which offers are available. I just called in and they don't provide a "list" like Royal or I can go online and see like with Carnival/Royal. Also, I racked up a lot of convenience charges and they took them off but considered it a comp so I ended up having to pay some other onboard charges out of pocket. Based on my losses they appeared to comp 5% but 3% of that are convenience fees. They wouldn't even consider the convenience fees after Sapphire as waived. The hosts on the Prima weren't very friendly. No warm and fuzzies on that cruise. When I called to book my next cruises (B2B) for June, the rep didn't seem too familiar with Ruby status benefits. I guess all this is normal for Casinos at Sea and NCL in general. There's nothing on my reservations to indication the OBC, Unlimited Internet for 1 device, or Open Bar. Am I going to have issues getting these if they don't show up ahead of time? Are people seeing these on the reservation 2 weeks before cruising like someone said? How much OBC can I expect for a 7 day cruise?
  14. I don’t think many people will admit to having more than a few hundred shares. Not with nclh. I can see why but I’ll keep sailing as long as I know what to expect and don’t overpay.
  15. I believe that's because some cabins have 3rd or 4th guests. Other cruise lines report over 100% of what I assume is the same metric. Of course you don't want it to be too high since it indicates you might be able to get more profit by raising prices.
  16. Everything is already priced in so when there's a surprise the stock moves more than usual. Good news is bad when it's not good enough. Bad news is good when it's not so bad. Then there's looking at the future and what the price should be. I bought 100 shares. It'll probably go down more but I lost so much more in the casino on this cruise. 11 more days to go...
  17. Maybe they mean without other people. On the Prima transatlantic I’m on heading to Iceland there’s one guy out there the times I’ve looked around midday. One guy, two hot tubs. The bartender could use the other one if he wanted.
  18. For Manhattan NY a few days ago, once I got past security which only had Haven and not Haven lines and they didn't check boarding times, I used the casino line. The usher didn't check my boarding pass at all. The sign didn't say Pearl or above. I couldn't tell if the agent did anything with the casino status because they processed the Latitudes priority and casino lines together. But after that, we still waited to board the ship and casino seemed to be behind Latitudes people. It was kind of a ship show on this boarding. I don't know how they do it if many more people are there and everything's backed up. Next time I'll.... Ignore the boarding time and get there early to get through security ASAP. Use the casino line if it seems shorter than Latitudes (I'm Shapphire). Board the ship with the group that goes first. (Casino or Shapphire but I'm guessing Latitudes).
  19. I just matched my Crown and Anchor Sapphire to MGM Gold. I'm hoping I can do something similar with Unity. It might be casino status to casino status though. My Prime might not get much on Unity.
  20. I would love more transparency on what the port fees, taxes, etc. for each port are... it seems higher on NCL than other lines. This change seems like a good way to hide this if in fact NCL's are higher. Oh and "expenses" sounds so sketchy.
  21. It depends if they did anything differently for a longer cruise or a transatlantic? For better or worse. Personally I never noticed anything different from a shorter cruise. Does anyone know? Is there any extra cleaning or maybe they change the bedding out completely in the middle?
  22. A few hours before my flight NCL sent a confirmation with the wrong flight time! Maybe it's a JetBlue thing but I guess I should double and triple check everything and do it often. Having a middleman isn't always a good thing.
  23. You can get the refundable OBC online as a gift to yourself. The max is $500 but you can buy two. I also have the nonrefundable shareholder OBC and usually just burn it on Internet but you can use it on excursions, shopping, etc. It'll automatically take from that first before hitting the refundable OBC.
