  1. I really think based on my recent experience, that even if they would let you order them now, you would not get them in time. It will take time to prepare to ship, then at least twelve days to receive them after they send the email saying they were shipped. I almost didn't get mine in time, and our order was confirmed 48 days ahead of the cruise. You don't need the stress wondering if they would arrive. I would be glad they are telling you truthfully that they won't make it/ can't ship. Just saying.
  2. So did you book the cruise yourself, online or over the phone? You really should not have a problem getting help now over the phone. I have had to call back when there is a language barrier. Don't be afraid to tell them you don't understand them and want to call back. I am from Nebraska and had the medallions shipped to me. BUT it took twelve days from the email saying they were shipped to the day I got them . That sounds normal. My guess is the phone representative was trying to tell you that they can't ship them because of time restraints, After personally seeing how long it took to ship them, I think at this point, I would pick them up at the port. I did everything either on the laptop or over the phone. I do have both apps loaded for on board. Are you able to print out all your travel documents and luggage tags, and everything needed to board. Don't forget passports and I.D. Double check to read up on everything needed to board. Very exciting for your first ever cruise.

  4. Quantum of the Seas recently over-booked and denied and turned away several payed up passengers when they tried to board. So yes, it does happen now. They didn't really get compensated that well either, I don't think.
  5. I read it the same way you did when they said pool deck. I took that to mean main pool deck too.

  7. Since we are talking wifi, how do I find the password to use it for my android phone . Do I just turn on airplane mode like the original poster said.
  8. We also are supposed to get the complimentary first night specialty dinning. Like you the web sites do not show this and charge you for it. I phoned in to ask about it. The princess dinning phone representative said go ahead and charge it, then it will removed as a charge when you check out, or make the reservation onboard, or just show up. Don't worry they said. We will try making reservations on board once we settle in. We shall see.

  11. Good move, even if Princess comes out on top. Now you do not have to walk by the gelato stand and wish you could afford it. A cappuccino every morning. Eighteen dollar glasses of wine with your fillet mignon. Top shelf drinks. And you don't have to go to the buffet unless you want to. Go live it up.
  12. I like your advice about picking out what you want two days before. I will probably not use the app for anything, as both do not work for me so far . I will just go to the photo department area hopefully like the good old days .
  13. This will be my first app and medallion cruise. I think you should phone call Princess and try to get your cruise all straightened out, especially the correct room numbers. I gave up using both apps and I phoned in everything and then later used the laptop to verify what we talked about. Maybe use the laptop version now to see if you are seeing the same problems you see on the apps.
  14. Do you think you could have went to your room with the old style card, then come back later when the line was down. Or do you have to have a medallion to get into your room.
  15. Thank you for the detailed reply. We leave four days early also. Did you get an email that they were coming? It is hard to believe that they wait so long.

  17. If you leave home before your medallions arrive, some have said it is a big long waiting line on the ship itself to get them. I am hoping to hear what actually happens when you show up with your medallions left at home because you didn't get them in time . Hopefully it is easy like you say
  18. So do you just go to the photo area the last day and pick out the prints and ask for you flash drive ? If I bring my own flash drive in case they don't offer it, will they load it.
  19. So your saying it could cost over the limit? I like old fashioned with bourbon or rye and also a rum old fashioned with a good rum. Since I have the Premier package, I will be calling out what I normally would never be able to try.
  20. Since we are talking drinks and calling out brands, I have questions. I have the Premier package. Let's say the menu shows a mojito cost $12.00. But say I call Zacapa rum which shows on a different drink menu is $18.00. So would the mojito cost $18.00 or would it cost $12.00 plus $ 18.00 ? There are several $18.00 bourbons that I do not drink as shots. I guess I wonder if the price they show is a shot price, or if it is in any mixed cocktail.
  21. I have a few friends that will drink twenty beers a day after work. I can only imagine how many they would drink on a cruise vacation.
  22. Nice to hear. We hope to go to crown grill a couple of times. Is the surf and turf an up charge?.
