  1. Thanks... I just recalled that my friends were on it as well.
  2. What was the Prima's first TA duration and itinerary?
  3. We've had the pleasure of sailing in and out of NYC a couple of times already and it is indeed spectacular... as was sailing out of Venice for us.. and Sydney Harbor too. All wonderful. BUT for the prices they were charging for their Viva TA, I would like some ports as originally advertised. It will be interesting to see what happens with this sailing. PS San Francisco arrivals (and sailaways) are very cool too!
  4. Well that would royally stink... and I would cancel instantly as I have absolutely no interest in a 9-day cruise with no ports.
  5. Would still like to know why the website is being so wonky and problematic these days for those who are trying to prepay the DSC online (for whatever their personal reasons are). Was also being finicky for other things I was trying to purchase for my reservation.
  6. I felt the same way... would rather just take care of it now and avoid an argument/headache later with a rep who was just hired or didn't understand the timing and nuances. Just because NCL is supposed to honor the lower priced DSC (if it applies to your cruise) as long as you pay two days before you sail, doesn't mean they will when the time comes. And I feel the further away we get from the recent announcement, the more confusing it will be to the reps/NCL's web site and easier to screw up. Better safe than sorry.
  7. Also a good option... but the last time I called, I got a less than stellar rep who screwed up my reservation. Most of the time, I've gotten good results when calling, but that last one left me gun shy.
  8. I went through this two days ago for two cruises... kept getting multiple error messages (requiring signing out and re-signing into my account) but kept at it and eventually got it to work. It was unnecessarily arduous, but I'm pretty tenacious... good luck!
  9. Thank you very much for the detailed review of your experiences. We're currently booked in an HE on the Viva and found the description of your suite very helpful. We're hoping for an upgrade but feel confident (especially after reading your review) that we would be content in the HE should an upgrade not be in our future.
  10. For roughly two weeks now, the Nov 2023 Viva TA been missing in action from NCL's web site (it still shows up as booked with no changes when I log into my account). Some one on our roll call was told by an NCL rep that it's "sold out" which seems highly unlikely... and a number of us smell a possible itinerary change a-comin' our way. Any info, ideas or fun thoughts to entertain us as we wait for the official news?
  11. Thank you very much for posting all this information... it's exactly what I was looking for as I'll be in a non-Haven suite on the Viva next fall. Hearing this makes me feel even more comfortable about our choice.
  12. As always, a useful and insightful read... Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and then you can relax on your vacation. 😊
  13. Mine is back too and the same thing is happening. Can probably be corrected if NCL is called but I'm not serious about that cruise at this time.
  14. Are you logged into your Latitudes account?
  15. The "Now You See It, Now You Don't" 10% Off is gone from our accounts too. 🙂
  16. I just double-checked with two different mock bookings: When I select a Haven suite, it shows up as $1.00 off. When I select a non-Haven cabin, the 10% off shows up correctly. Anyone else seeing this?
  17. Now the discount is showing up properly in my mock booking... go figure.
  18. Coupon shows up in both my husband's and my account. When a mock booking is done and I get to the payment section, the same thing happens... a whopping savings of $1.00. Seriously? Computer glitch maybe?
  19. I would expand that to say don't TRAVEL with anything you can't bear to lose. Many years ago, while in a congested haze with a head cold after a very long flight, I left a small zippered case of some jewelry (not expensive but of sentimental value to me) in an airport bathroom in Detroit. Still kicking myself for not "leaving home without it". Lesson learned... simply did not need to have that stuff with me. That said, very much hope you are successful in recovering your items!
  20. I also bring this for the few wrinkle-able items we bring. And, if not that, then a small empty spray bottle for misting/spraying water to de-wrinkle items. Also, a small solid stain remover stick for those fine (and not so fine) dining oopsies on my favorite shirts and blouses.
  21. We use Tiles to track our bags per great advice from another excellent thread on CC. We also take pictures of bags at pier drop off as back up proof we brought them should they go missing. NCL tried to tell one passenger that he "must have left his bag at the airport" when his bag never arrived in his cabin after he dropped it off with the porters. REALLY? He showed them the photo of his bags in the port and that shut them up. Never did get his bag though. 🥴
  22. Me too... and yet my husband STILL to this day packs crappy metal hangers in his bags making me totally bonkers. I don't care that they "weigh nothing", sigh. 🥴😜
  23. We call it our "cheat sheet" (even though it's sometimes 3-5 letter-sized pages depending on trip length). There are always so many details and moving parts to our trips that's it's comforting to have one place to find them all when we forget something. It generally includes everything from when we need to be back on the ship to flight numbers/times and dining times in one convenient place and leaves plenty of room for flexibility and last minute changes. Very helpful when traveling with ADHD family members. Stops them from asking me the same questions all the time. I just tell them to refer to the cheat sheet... has really saved the day (and 6 sanity) on more than one occasion. 😉
  24. BUMP... Can any one who's sailed in non-Haven suites on the Prima chime in? Personal Escort On and Off the Ship: Is this at each port? Need to make sure I have access to priority disembarkation as needed for some early tours. Invitations to Exclusive Breakfast/Lunch: Is this everyday or a random "now and then" kind of thing? Thanks!
