  1. I can’t find this on the Princess UK website. Any idea how to get the info other than using an agent based in the USA?
  2. It will be interesting to see if this is the case when Regal starts sailing out of Southampton on the British Isles cruises. As Cloudyrain says we don’t tend to do this much, maybe a happy birthday banner. However, I expect there will a good number of North Americans (certainly seems to be on our cruise) so it remains to be seen if this will continue to be enforced. Personally I can’t see any harm as long as nothing controversial is displayed.
  3. Thanks. He will be able to board the tender.
  4. This is our first time to Dun Laoghaire. Could you please explain how use the Dart from the cruise port. My husband will be in a wheelchair or using a Rollator. Do you think this will be a big problem?
  5. I understand that they have stopped allowing you take out the obc in the casino. I have no idea how they would police that but I’m sure I’ve seen another post about this subject.
  6. No, when we were renewing the policy it was refused due to medical issues. It was before the new regime.
  7. Staysure only pay out £75pp per claim. However the cruise cover is for the term of the policy and is an add on. Our old Nationwide policy paid £150pp and cost £20pp extra annually. Nationwide no longer allow us cover.
  8. I doubt it. I recently tried to move to a different cabin on our Iona cruise but the new cabin cost less than the original one so the answer was a big fat no. So I can’t see them giving you a refund but it’s definitely worth asking. I didn’t know you could have a Select fare and not choose your cabin.
  9. Glad you are having a good time. Often after a cruise I see a review and have to wonder if we were on the same ship. I believe it’s all to do with expectations. You are not and never will have 5* service on a cruise with the cost of a P&O cruise, especially the newer big ships. However, dirty cabins, rude staff etc etc should be addressed immediately with management and not be allowed to become a social media scenario.
  10. Would you please come back and let me know how it was. We don’t go until August. Thanks
  11. When are you travelling? It would be good to hear your experience.
  12. Previously other US citizens have reported being being redirected to the said online agency when trying to book with P&O. Our US TA told us she is not allowed to book P&O but can book Cunard.
  13. You will get £150 obc for each cruise. I’m pretty sure you would get it for a July cruise as you are within the application limit and I don’t think you have to hold them for any period before claiming as long as you hold 100 shares. I’m no expert at share dealing but there are others on here who will be able advise you.
  14. The Baggage Company. Not sure if they only do cruises but worth checking.
  15. Has anyone used this shuttle service from Le Havre to Honfleur? They pick up from the port and transfer to the city centre. They have 2 options, either 3 hours or 5 hours in Honfleur and then return direct to the ship. Very reasonable cost compared to a similar tour from the ship. Thanks
  16. I’ve seen and indeed taken part in silent discos but they are usually far from silent. You might have four different songs being played and most people sing along loudly. It’s a lot of fun and popular on many cruise lines now.
  17. Smiths have ceased trading. We have used them many times and would be so glad to see them back in business.
  18. While we are not up there yet we did see people on our recent Iona cruise going to the special lunch and all were nicely dressed with many jacket and tie outfits and ladies who definitely looked like they lunched.
  19. And us. We have been cruising since 1990 but didn’t take our first cruise with P&O until 2018. We compared it with other cruise lines and decided never again. However when cruises to nowhere were offered during the pandemic we were so desperate to cruise we went on Britannia. Since then we have been on Azura, Arvia, twice on Iona with 3 more P&O cruises booked. We have a Princess cruise this year and reading some of the comments on the Princess CC forum, there are just as many moans on there.
  20. As per Selbourne. Certainly needed for medical reasons, but also lost luggage or passports, missed ports or indeed missing the ship and getting to the next port. I think I would be inclined to check that with P&O.
  21. Fortunately in this instance our great TA was able to get us a cabin which is exactly as we had requested. We gave her a choice of 4 and we are very happy with the one we have been allocated.
  22. No, nothing else. You won’t usually have to show insurance details but best to have them to hand.
  23. Anxiously awaiting a response from our TA. I’ve looked online and already there are lots and lots of cabins greyed out on the deck plan on our chosen cruise. Fingers and everything else crossed.
  24. No, you only submit a statement once. I’ve been granted obc on two cruises. One Princess, one P&O. Only had to submit a statement for the first one. Just go to PERKS on the app and choose which cruise line, fill in the booking ref etc and a few hours later the second one was granted. Same day had an email from P&O confirming the obc.
  25. Once you have registered though, any other requests for future cruises are dealt with almost within hours. I can’t believe how easy it is now.
