  1. So, we need a little more info on this cabin. It’s aft, but is it a true aft….facing outwards from the back of the ship? Or is it aft on the port or starboard side…facing out from the sides of the ship? Which deck is it on? Sensitivity to motion is more prevalent far aft and far forward on higher decks. It will be nothing compared to the sailboat you were on. Ships are far more stable. If you would share your cabin number we could give you more advice.
  2. You are correct! I always laugh when I look at our travel summary and it indicates “complimentary” from Princess when I know for a fact I paid for either the Plus or Premier package. This is quite deceptive and I’m surprised by how many people are fooled by it. Not nice, Princess.
  3. I can see how many people get confused about all the different packages. There are many of them and many variations. One must read through all of the packages before choosing what is right for them and to be clear they’re getting exactly what they paid for. Princess reps are not very helpful in this department, so one needs to inform themselves.
  4. Not referring to those packages at all. I’m referring to the Beverage Package that covers alcohol drinks and wine. Not the same thing.
  5. The drinks only package can be purchased for just one person, however, the Plus or Premier all included package must be purchased by both cabin occupants. This is not dependent on your loyalty level.
  6. Your CVP is only half correct. You can only purchase onboard the stand alone beverage package for one person. The Plus package, with inclusions, must be purchased by both people in the same cabin, regardless if you buy it before sailing or when onboard. Yes, there are many places onboard who will add the beverage package to your account.
  7. Of course, you are correct, Don. Thank you for adding that information.
  8. I would recommend that you get a Princess Cruise Vacation Planner, aka CVP, who can do any changes for you expeditiously.
  9. Yes, the pools are for everyone. Reserve Class mini suites are identical to regular minis, except for the far forward cabins on Lido and Marina, which have huge balconies. Reserve Class offers a small, separate area of the MDR with the same menus, but with a daily special nor offered in the MDR. Same kitchen as MDR. No reservations are necessary, so arrive when you are ready. Service may be a touch elevated. No separate lounge, either. There is nothing else offered for Reserve Class guests. If you want special treatment with a more upscale experience, you would need to book a full suite, not a mini suite.
  10. The problem is that only about 1% or less of cruisers are Cruise Critic members, so you would not be getting a true picture. Also, the people who don’t want it are very vociferous compared to those who do. I would say that once you board, you may get a better picture. To be honest, I’ve never been interested in the numbers, for or against. I just do my own thing and let others do theirs.
  11. We always stay at Pan Pacific, which is directly above the cruise terminal, so no transfers needed. We purchase the rate for the precruise package. It includes your room, buffet breakfast (the restaurant is gorgeous and looks out over the harbour and very likely you can see your ship) and the transfer of your luggage from your hotel room to your cabin on the ship. Many lovely restaurants in the area and lots to see in Vancouver. You must go to Stanley Park! I won’t lie, it’s not inexpensive at Pan Pacific nor are restaurants in Vancouver, but it is an outstanding embarkation port. You can arrange this yourself without the Princess package for a lot less money.
  12. Please look into this again. The problem is with the terminology used by Princess. There is the Plus and Premier package cruise fare, which includes drinks, wifi, gratuities and other stuff as outlined by Princess. This fare must be paid by both cabin occupants. You can buy these packages onboard, with all the inclusions and must be purchased by both, However, you can also purchase onboard the Plus and Premier beverage package, which is for drinks only and with no inclusions. This can be purchased by one person in the cabin. Unfortunately, the cost of the beverage package on its own is comparable to the cost of the inclusive Plus and Premier packages. The difference is that not everyone in your cabin needs to purchase it. It can get very confusing, so I apologize if I haven’t made it crystal clear. @Steelers36 did a great job recently breaking this down and he said it much better than I did.
  13. Flat irons are what Princess refers to as the irons used for clothes. I know because I asked them onboard. Flat irons for hair are considered curling irons to Princess and they are allowed. I take mine all the time on all cruiselines.
  14. Yes, and curling irons. I take both and never questioned or taken away. Our cabin stewards see them on the bathroom shelf and never say a word.
  15. We’ve sailed, with many different cruiselines, 38 Caribbean cruises. Then a few years ago we retired and sailed to the Mediterranean and then we sailed the Norwegian fjords and then Europe. We’ve never been back to the Caribbean and we have no interest to do so. Be warned, once you sail longer, port intensive cruises, you’ll be hooked! We’ve sailed two TAs on HAL and loved them both. Do everything they offer each day or do nothing, it’s up to you. We were never bored! Have a wonderful cruise!
  16. I’m always surprised that someone would actually post such a ridiculous and biased opinion. It’s also just plain rude. My question to you is how do you know so much about HAL and Princess? Clearly you’ve chosen to cruise with them. If “the vibe” is so awful why aren’t you sailing on Carnival? Perhaps you have embellished your story to suit your narrative. I think you just enjoy stirring the pot. Sorry, fail. We don’t care.
  17. Most of us have had this experience more than once, and for some of us, many times. Yes, it’s disappointing, but you feel much better immediately booking another one.lol
  18. RCI attracts a younger crowd who enjoy all the bells and whistles in the outdoor areas found on their ships. Celebrity is somewhat younger, but no “stuff” like RCI. Princess and HAL have an older crowd and still no “stuff”. Carnival and NCL also attract younger people and they have lots of “stuff” around the pools and outdoor areas.
  19. Celebrity does this so well! My niece had an engagement party arranged for her on Edge a few years ago. She was thrilled with the results and her photos were beautiful.
  20. Exactly why we have a CVP with whom we have had great success over many years in doing cancellations, refaring, and any other changes or additions to our booking. Never sit on hold, never talk to inexperienced agents or to agents who are difficult to understand. I can’t imagine booking a cruise without her.
  21. OP was asking about Regal and post #6 gives correct info for that ship
  22. Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts. We’re booked on Enchanted Princess doing the same itinerary in 2024. Good job!
  23. You should be able to book dining reservations now. Have you tried deleting the app and starting over? You can also go to the Princess website and there is a link to use an online version of the app. We have had no problems with the app, both booking MDR reservations and specialty restaurants. The app is wonky for sure. Works great for some and not so much for others. Booking onboard is hit and miss. You may be able to get the times you want, but maybe not. Specialty restaurants tend to book up very fast and some may have very little availability when you board, you just never know. I would try to get the app working. It may take a few tries. Good luck.
  24. We just booked our two complimentary dinners at Rudi’s The Catch on Enchanted using the app. We also booked a third one and paid for it also on the app. Disappointed in Sabatini’s last time and CG is becoming same old, same old.
  25. Welcome to Cruise Critic and your first post! Once you board, you’ll find a number of things in your cabin for you to peruse. The Princess Daily Event Planner, aka Princess Patter, will give you lots of information about things going on around the ship, including the dining venues and hours of operation. Regal is a great ship and I hope you enjoy your cruise!
