  1. We will be docking at the F638 Frihamnen berth for an overnight in Stockholm in mid May. We are trying to determine the best way to spend our 2 days there. The cruise line tours don't appear to be the best. We looked at Viator tours, but are uncertain about getting to the initial meeting points. It looks like tickets for the Vasa museum can be purchased online, but while some of the website will display in English, the ticket purchasing portion does not seem to, and there are a couple of options offered. Is it practical to walk to the museum from the pier? What would you suggest as to how to spend 2 days in Stockholm? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
  2. We will be sailing on the somewhat hobbled Grandeur OTS in January. Is there a main dining room (not an upcharge venue) open for lunch on embarkation day? We have started to take advantage of this on other lines rather than deal with the hustle and bustle of the buffet. This will be only our 3rd RCL cruise, first since 2015.
  3. I had a $50 per port excursion credit and the cost was $49, so I signed up since it was free. I believe it was called the Black Swan Electric Boat Cruise. You board in the area where all excursions involving boat rides depart. The waiting area is covered, as is the boat. Once you exit the bay, you head over to a marked area where the manatees hang out and watch for them to pop up, and try to get a little closer--much like a whale watching excursion. Not a lot else to see, but the guide was entertaining. They don't guarantee sightings, but we saw them. As the boat has electric power, it was a quiet, pleasant ride.
  4. We were at Harvest Caye in October. It is a beautiful place! If the sand were as soft as the beach at Half Moon Cay, it would be perfect. Expansive beach, large pool, lots of nice shops and activities, well-maintained...I had an excursion credit so I used it to do the electric boat ride to see manatees.
  5. Our first visit to HMC was in April of 2007, and it was somewhat rainy and rather chilly...maybe the "April showers..." thing was going on. We tried to huddle under clamshells with towels to stay warm, hoping it would clear up; it did not. On our subsequent visits we have always enoyed warm, sunny weather.🌞
  6. You can always check the schedule here: https://www.*****/cruise/ship-schedule/1-2023/
  7. We just stayed there last weekend and used both shuttles. Good experience all the way around.
  8. I was afraid of being taken advantage of again by another taxi driver so I checked the Miami Dade website and it said $27, so I argued with the driver today that wanted $35.90 per the meter. Now I feel stupid.
  9. Per NCL website, there are no requirements for Honduras: https://www.ncl.com/travel-requirements-by-country
  10. In the past, I was told that if you received any other discount on the booking, you couldn't get the shareholder benefit. Was that not true? Reading this post I realized I own NCLH shares and may have been able to apply for the shareholder benefit, but now I am within 2 weeks of sailing.
  11. Just off a 13 day cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Many of the crew were not wearing their mask over their nose, so the effectiveness of the mask was minimal at best. Some just wore them on their chin under their mouth at times. And I could be wrong, but I think off-duty crew on shore may not have been wearing masks.
  12. Just off the Caribbean Princess for the 13 day New England/Canada cruise. We had reserved 7:20 every night on the app. Somehow it got changed to 7:00pm. We were assigned to the Palm dining room, the larger dining room on deck 6 aft. Dinner on embarkation day was a chaotic mess. There was a very long line to get in. Once we were finally seated, it was clear the servers were overwhelmed, and after approximately 15 minutes of waiting for our server, we walked out. The maitre d'(?) seemed concerned as we left, but the situation seemed unfixable. There was a very long line again on day 2, and we were seated in a different section. Service was more prompt, but it was clear the server was having difficulty keeping up, and he was not particularly friendly/pleasant. We talked to a manager in the Coral dining room about getting a table with the same server there each night, but he said he could not guarantee it, but would be more likely to be able to accomodate us at a later time. We returned to the Palm on day 4, there was no line, and the concerned maitre d' specifically assigned us to a certain server's section, as he did the next 2 times we returned. In the end, we visited the World Fresh Marketplace for dinner 7 out of 13 nights. The MDR experience on the Caribbean Princess was much less pleasant than the late seating schedule during our cruises on the Emerald in December and March. It would seem that the servers cannot be happy with the present situation, and are likely receiving far fewer incidental gratuities than they would with the early/late seating schedule of the past.
