  1. Prices are strategically set to be slightly cheaper pp than other transport, such as shuttles and cabs. Any links to the new airport will be equally expensive.
  2. Worth asking the question to John Heald on social media as well. That would really stir the pot.
  3. That seems to be a generic mash-up of policies. If for Australia, it would be for guests 18 years and older, so they have managed to tangle their US policy with a bit of cut & paste. Pretty sure they will take it off you at embarkation to collect at the end of the cruise.
  4. Absolutely. There would be mutiny if that was dropped from Carnival in the US
  5. W aren't full-on, and have learned to take only what we need. As for above, possible to be B2B or a shoe addiction.
  6. Like my cruise cards before it, my medallion lived in my pocket. I figure it wasn't aesthetic for TV
  7. Same here. 30th anniversary at sea this weekend, but we have been together for 40 years. I have missed the Love Boat tonight. I am at work, but not overly sad. Mentioned it to Barb and got a meh. Should be some nice eye candy - Discovery Princess that is.
  8. + merkin. 😂 I was looking at that a couple of weeks ago. 15 years, and not sure if the suit still fits.
  9. Hold that thought. I don't know if any cruises do go to Portland, although it looks like it would be an interesting 80km transit along the Columbia & Willamette rivers. Small ship, Silverseas Silver Cloud is the only ship I can find with a call there. Crown Princess is just in drydock there.
  10. Very true. Contract tracing is well in the past now, and they don't do any tracing if you test positive on the ship or return home with it after the cruise. If you return home with it, they aren't even interested that it was caught on a cruise. Given most people are honest, it would seem that many that take it on the ship unknowingly have caught it in transit, which has also been defeating the supervised tests.
  11. The QR code on your phone replaces your boarding pass of old. You only needed one boarding pass back then too, and would only print off separately if you weren't boarding together.
  12. I had that field filled when I setup the app, but had an extra digit in the contact phone number, so it hadn't saved. If the save button is greyed out, as it was for me, that can cause the impersonal greeting.
  13. I thought I had that done previously via the personaliser, but I guess that hasn't switched over. Thanks, I will do that now.
  14. Different for various states and people, but for us to get a free PCR we have to have symptoms or be a household contact. If were were in that boat, we would fail the health survey.
  15. 18th Feb 2024, Brilliance of the Seas - Sydney to Freo, over the top cruise
  16. The only thing my wife has separately on her phone is her vaccination certificate.
  17. Yes, I have loaded all my wife's details onto my phone, and we just use the one QR code on my phone.
  18. Looks like mine did an auto update. It didn't show on my recent updates.
  19. Someone has suggested sitting your ID and test strip on the days newspaper front page.
  20. Tivua Island, if they make it available. It is operated via a Captain Cook cruises boat, and it could be otherwise engaged on the day. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
  21. The latter. If you sign into the personaliser, you will get a pop-up screen with those version 2 details. There is still an attest/health survey, but they have added the extra. There is no requirement to upload it, but just to have it on your device to show if requested. A friend noted it is hard to take a photo of your mobile lock screen, when you are taking a photo with it, and an added juggle while shining the UV torch on the Coles brand one, while trying not to light up the hologram in your passport.. They say they will randomly check for photos in the terminal, and direct those without one to get an in-terminal test done. As they say, random. My cynical side says they want photographic proof if you need to cancel via a positive test.
