Rewards Points Redemption Time Frame
RosieRoo replied to dedosr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thank you. I’m booking something quite far out so I just wanted to be sure it would be based on today’s pricing before I cashed in the points. -
Rewards Points Redemption Time Frame
RosieRoo replied to dedosr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have a slightly different question that maybe some one can answer. If you use points for a companion fare, can you cash them way in advance and have applied or do you need to do it right before final payment? Just wondering at what point they decide the value of the companion fare, when you book or when you pay since prices are constantly fluctuating. -
I think they are catching on to this. Put $50 of non refundable credit into machine and cashed out at $32. Next time I tried to use my card I was locked out. They said you have to play at least 50% of what you load into the machine before cashing out or you get locked out.

RCCL Diamond+ Looking to Try MSC... Hints?
RosieRoo replied to yogimax's topic in Royal Caribbean International
One of the best perks of the YC in Brooklyn I haven’t seen mentioned is that the butler meets you on the sidewalk by the YC tent and escorts you through security, check in and right onto the ship. No lines, no waiting. They also escort you off the ship at ports, taking you right to the front of the line. -
Currently on Radiance, no Rita’s Cantina, it’s just a bar with seating now, but they do have two restaurants that were not on the Jewel or the Serenade when we were on them in the fall. The Dog House which is outside the WJ where there’s usually coffee and tea on the other ships and Samba Grill which is on 12 where Izumi is located on the other two ships. Radiance has Izumi in the back of the WJ on the opposite side from where Rita’s was.

Booking RCI Cruise While on Celebrity
RosieRoo replied to Veinless's topic in Royal Caribbean International
In my experience they are not as well versed in Royal Caribbean as they are in Celebrity, so you really need to know exactly what you want. They can book it, but they can’t really give you much guidance regarding ships, perks, etc. -
Interesting work around. I would never have even thought of that.

I couldn’t find anything on their website that said only 90 days forward, but my TA sent me this. I don’t know where this is stated on their website.
-
I totally agree. I know their policy and I’m not disputing the cancellation policy. I just don’t see where it says you can only move a booking 90 days forward not backward.
-
So I have a different scenario. I have a YC booking for November and I want to move it to October, which is about 30 days backwards. Their website lists this as their policy: For Bookings with the Fantastica, Aurea or Yacht Club Experience, one departure date change can be made free of charge from the time the Booking penalty period begins, as stated in the above cancellation chart, until 30 days prior to departure. Any subsequent departure date change will result in a fee of $50 per person. The new departure date must be within 90 days of the original departure date. Any change to a date that is more than 90 days from the original departure date is considered a cancellation and is subject to the above cancellation charges. Any change made less than 30 days prior to departure is considered a cancellation and is subject to the above cancellation charges. I don’t see anywhere that it says you can only move it forward, but that’s what they are saying.
-
I think you are only allowed to move the cruise 3 months forward or back. At least that’s what I was told when I tried to move a YC booking without penalty.
-
We’ve had the same experience as far as using it for lunch except for on the Jewel. I was told if I wanted to use it for lunch I’d have to pay the dinner pricing. How does that even make sense? It would have cost me less to buy two full price lunches than to pay for one dinner 🤦🏻♀️

Joy/Encore Haven vs MSC Meraviglia YC
RosieRoo replied to skeeter195's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Have sailed both. One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the butler escorts you onto the ship right from the sidewalk. They also escort you off the ship at every port. Also their private island has a separate Yacht Club beach with restaurant and bar that you are transported to via golf cart. I think MSC has it all over NCL as far as value for the money. -

There definitely are groups. I booked when it first opened and my TAs pricing was less than Royals. -
New deployment schedule 2025-2026
RosieRoo replied to gobblegobbletilluwobble's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Great! I think that’s a better choice for a first time cruise. Have a great time. -
Normally I would never book under a public area, but if you want a PH you have no choice.
-
Thanks for all your replies. As of right now the only cabin on the port side that is left is 8062. On the starboard side there’s 8059, 8061, 8063 and 8065. Which would you choose? I have read multiple posts about noise issues, but most of them are from years ago. I’d appreciate any advice on these cabins.
-
First time on Oceania and will be on Insignia. We are looking to book a PH. I’ve read tons of threads on the noise issue from above. For those of you that have sailed in PH suites on the Insignia recently could you please recommend which suites to avoid? Or which are the best to avoid noise from above? Thanks

New deployment schedule 2025-2026
RosieRoo replied to gobblegobbletilluwobble's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It was a lot of sea days and a couple of them were rough. That’s the chance you take sailing anywhere in the Atlantic. Didn’t bother us, but there were some seasick people. Probably not the best choice for a first cruise. We’ve done those repositioning cruises 5 or 6 times both on Royal and Celebrity. It’s nice to only have that one way flight, but if I’m going to have that many sea days I think I’d go across the pond not to the ABCs. Just my opinion of course. In 2025 Oceania has a repo out of Boston with a lot more stops if you are interested. -

We did the repositioning this year and it didn’t have Bermuda. There were a lot of sea days. Honestly, it sort of felt like a transatlantic. -

Brilliance is open, but that’s August 30th, 2025. Don’t know if you’d consider that fall or not. -

Exactly. We would have booked one of the segments but there were no JS or above cabins left. -

If the Brilliance follows the same pattern as the Jewel does in 2024 the R/T will be after the transatlantic.
