  1. I don’t like dream because of Deck 5 which is lit up like a city at night. If you are planning on a balcony, I would get a cove balcony which is deck 2 I think. if you have a balcony above deck 5, you look down on it and not the water. I’ve never seen anything like it. People would go in deck 5 and yell to family on the balcony to toss them sunscreen etc. Its like a public street. You have to look out to see the water. I think it’s very poorly designed.
  2. I’m in my early 50s. Is Geo blue something to consider when we get on Medicare? Thanks.
  3. I really need to rearrange my credit cards and get one for travel.
  4. Thanks. I’m feeling a bit sensitive today because I’m leaving on Glory in 5 days and today I can’t get off the sofa.
  5. Thanks in advance. Is there a real difference in packages and how do I add beer to my room? lol thanks. eta: I found the beer, thanks
  6. Where can I find out more and about how much is it? I know YMMV. Thanks.
  7. Just remember that disabled people don’t always look disabled to your mind when judging people.
  8. I just saw on Reddit that a person’s flight was cancelled today and WN can’t rebook them until 1/13/23 That is crazy,
  9. I have to be super careful how I word this. My sibling worked for WN and resigned in 2022. According to my sibling, the lack of employees was causing issues that my sibling felt could impact safety. For instance, one plane was on push back but was still tethered to the actual airport so there was some kind of bouncing around until ground crew realized what happened. The meltdown of IT and the assumed restart that should happen soon per government regulations might be the best thing that happens for the customers in the end. Nobody wants to get injured or die because of lack of employees and oversight. YMMV and probably WN isn’t the only one experiencing lack of employees.
  10. I found this: they are supposedly willing to reimburse reasonable expenses.
  11. I’m hearing that If you have a southwest flight through next week you should probably look into other plans. This isn’t going to be fixed soon. Their Antiquated IT program fried.
  12. Thanks, everyone. DH has to check a few dates tomorrow at work and then we will probably book the New England one. Yay!!
  13. I enjoyed following along, Kathi. Thanks for posting.
  14. Thank you. Yes, I should have said we don’t need to stay at a Hilton brand. I would say budget is $350-400 usd a night or less.
  15. DH and I are considering the April 29 sailing of Zaandam, Montreal to Boston (Canada and New England). We are Hilton Diamond so I want to try and figure out a good place to stay in Montreal. Thanks for any help.
  16. @sunviking90 Westerdam is my first love on Hal, Fantasy first love on CCL and Pride of Hawaii. ( last I heard was Jade in Med) on Ncl, which was my first cruise ever. Back in 2007.
  17. @REOVA thanks, you made a lot of great points. Yes, I was following the lady on grand Africa and she did indeed get Covid. That is why I got a balcony even though I was by myself on Westerdam in September. I figured it would be good to air out the cabin. Also it’s a good point about catching Covid on the plane. Especially if I do a turn around. I live near NOLA but my daughter graduates university mid May and then my niece and my nephew graduate from 8th and HS in early June in NorCal. I do wear a N95 during the flight. You also bring up a good point about driving but we will need to save that for after DH retires. you are correct about Alaska too. That would also be May but a better time frame for me, though I think Zaandam is going to win on April 29. Does Zaandam have the lounge for suites?
  18. Thanks! I found one!!! April 29 on Zaandam Montreal to Boston. This one could work. @waiting2retire I agree with you. I much prefer the smaller ships. My son and I are going on glory Jan 2 with a group (we live nearby Nola) and it’s so much larger with 2980 passengers. Yikes!!
  19. Thanks! I have a giant scheduling problem and can’t do May. The mid May cruise would be good but it’s a Boston to Boston round trip. (Which we could still do but I would miss out on the river). So it’s either Alaska in April or New England on June 10. June 10 is tight because I would just be returning from my Niece and my nephew’s graduations in NorCal. The last time I had a tight turn around like that, I got very discombobulated and lost a bunch of stuff. We are going to sit on it for about 2 days and then book. Thanks again for the comments.
