  1. Thank you very much for the recommendation. I’m off to google.
  2. Hello, so DH and I waited too long to book excursions and there isn’t much left. Also, I’m wondering about the weather anyway, first days of May and how any outside excursions will go. Uncertainty. Quebec City, I guess we will just take an Uber anywhere and walk around on our own etc. I would like to see that fancy hotel. Charlottetown, any ideas? I’m not particularly interested in Anne of Green Gables. Sydney, I guess we will do the Alexander Graham Bell museum ? Any input? We like museums, food, not much on shopping. LOVE boats.
  3. They said we will see it in July along the Florida coast. The amount is unprecedented.
  4. Right, some of us have asthma anyway. I read an article saying it’s a giant bloom. It’s killing sea life.
  5. Not in New Orleans for instance. Police won’t respond or won’t respond for 2 days. LE told a friend of a friend if she knew where her stolen car was to go steal it back (I am not joking). The hotel paid a tow company to go steal it back at like 4 am. The Perp had impersonated a valet parker
  6. I love Mexico. It’s one of my favorite places to go. I’m not sure about right now, but New Orleans is terrible too.
  7. I am worried about my husband on his first HAL cruise. He likes to get a nightcap and roam around the ship and people watch. I want him to like HAL, so I have prepped him with “we needed a smaller ship to do this itinerary and so it’s not like carnival”. He hasn’t been on a cruise in about 5 years.
  8. It always was on cruises out of New Orleans. it’s a bummer though for me because I am prescribed one edible a night for insomnia and I can’t bring my stuff on board. (Except that time I forgot I had a vape on me and it went on board — not carnival though).. so I have to load up on magnesium and melatonin etc.
  9. EEERRRRMMMAHHHGGGAAADD, I would be happy just seeing one puffin where I could make out it’s a puffin, but this puffin patrol in Iceland (on the bucket list anyway) sounds like me. Lol. Thank you for telling me about it.
  10. Well it doesn’t help you now, but I’m taking this cruise April 29. Hit me up for a reminder if you didn’t hear anything by then
  11. I’m in my early 50s and I was so excited to find my people on HAL on Westerdam in September! I’m in Jammies at 8:30 and had been used to Carnival before the kids were “grown and flown”… HAL is like a RV crowd: early to bed, early to rise. The ship is popping at 6 am 😁
  12. I’m going to miss the smell of weed on my cruises. Is it really a Carnival cruise without the smell of weed? 😜
  13. Yes.all of that. We like national parks. Beaches. Fishing , city exploring, museums, etc I just have only been to this area three times and not where I’m going… cape cod, NH to visit my friend and a girls weekend in Portland Maine. Lol I like your idea of looking a google maps, I think that will help me get started to get oriented to the geography. Thanks
  14. Thank you. Chateau Frontenac Did catch my eye as a cool looking hotel, so the tea excursion is what I’m thinking right now. im going to get a a map up and look at your other suggestions tomorrow thank you. I go to bed early.
  15. Thanks. I’m over on the board @FlaMariner recommended. I have no idea what to do. Someone mentioned puffins so I’m looking into that. Im also unsure of what to do first week of May since I assume it will still be a bit chilly and most people do this itinerary in Autumn. I’ll figure it out. I realize we are a bit late with this— we have been slammed busy. Cruise leaves in like 7 weeks.
  16. Hello again, DH and I are on Zaandam April 29 Montréal to Boston with the usual stops: Quebec city, Charlottetown, St. John, Bar Harbor etc. if I can find the itinerary I’ll attach. We haven’t booked anything yet other than the cruise. No reservations, no excursions. In looking around here someone mentioned wanting to see puffins, and now I must see puffins lol. Will early May be conducive to this? Thank you. I guess I’ll look up puffin migration
  17. Do you see puffins with Paul? Puffins got my attention
  18. Did you find any info on this? Thanks
  19. I’m on this cruise April 29 from Montréal to Boston and we haven’t the faintest idea what to do for excursions. Our roll call only has one other person and me on it lol. If op doesn’t mind, I’m open to suggestions. Thanks.
  20. Thank you @princeton123211 that was very helpful.
  21. Exactly. I’m just going to assume they have a system and it works. Thanks for the well wishes.
  22. I hate to say this, but I think I’m going to let this go. My son and I both vaguely remember checking the sign and sail charges on the TV and I very vaguely remember seeing a credit. I have just pulled myself out of a giant depression and the cruise was the turning point, along with the 7 spa services. It REALLY helped me out (along with meds changes and other things). I don’t have the mental space to get into a giant protracted time and brain waster about this. We are shareholders, so I spoke with my husband about letting it go. He reminded me that I told him on the phone while on the cruise that I was blowing a ton of money in the spa. He agreed that we can just assume CCL did it correctly and lesson learned to double check next time while on the cruise.
