  1. Yay, power is back. Out about 12 1/2 hours. Temperature in refrigerator was 43 degrees, which according to all I googled, I should trash a lot of things. ☹️
  2. My Mom got hers back about a half hour ago, thankfully. I told her to get her dinner together just in case it goes out again. She keeps her house ridiculously warm, so with the mild temperature today, she was okay. I couldn’t get her and bring her here because we are still out and my house us only 63 right now. If it was still out in the morning, I was going to take her out of there, likely to my sisters since she has a whole house generator. My DH is on his way home from work and we will go out to eat and charge devices. Our most recent estimated restoration time has come and gone and now status is “reassessing repairs”. Time will tell, nothing we can do. Others have it much worse than us, at least we have no damage as far as I can tell. Just a little water that I have dealt with. 🙂
  3. That’s too bad. I keep checking the outage map for updates and our restoration time keeps getting pushed out. I hope they get to her issue soon. My Mom up in NH is out too.
  4. No, still out. Over four hours now, so will have to decide what needs to be thrown away in the refrigerator. Could be worse, at least it’s not cold out. I went out to Dunkin and got coffee. Stopped at a local deli that makes homemade soup. Lots of roads closed due to downed trees and poles. A pole snapped in half two streets over with lots of lines down is likely the issue. Just need winds to calm so Eversource can safely go up in the bucket trucks that are waiting. I think their safety threshold is 35 mph.
  5. 62 degrees just outside of Boston right now too. This storm is really tropical. If it was a classic winter storm, we would be buried in snow. No white Christmas up here this year.
  6. Hope Charlie feels better soon. Glad your basement is dry. I have a little seepage but nothing bad yet. Hope it stays that way since I can’t wet vacuum it up.
  7. Really nasty here too. Our power went out a little while ago. I had planned to spend the day baking and doing laundry. Hopefully, it comes back soon but I know they will have to wait for the winds to calm down some as the utilities can’t do line work if the wind is over 35 mph.
  8. LOL Who is arguing? I was pointing out where there is music available if you sail those classes of ships.
  9. Radiance class has music in that timeframe in the Centrum too. Oasis class has music in Central Park for part of that time. Sometimes it is only one performer who takes breaks after an hour or so. Other times there are different performers, so there is no gap in music.
  10. Gelatin is used in many of the desserts instead of using a lot of cream to stabilize a mousse. It is also a lot cheaper. We have noticed that some of the desserts they had been putting gelatin in don't have it anymore, they have switched back to better ingredients. It is easy to tell when you put your fork through the dessert, if it just glides through, it is likely thickened with cream, but if you are cutting it and the structure stays, it is likely thickened with gelatin.
  11. We have seen stingrays at South Beach many times. We have seen lemon sharks too.
  12. Bread was much better in the past. I miss the crusty, sour dough rolls. All the choices now are soft rolls, even the cheese ones that used to also have a crunchy crust. Coastal Kitchen still has a few more choices but not all the choices they used to have. Even the stollen at breakfast was rare to see on recent cruises and that used to be a staple.
  13. I would ask on your rollcall as it can be different sailing to sailing and port to port. I have had check in as early as 10am in the past but have had 11am the earliest available time on our last cruise.
  14. We also sailed from Boston in October. We arrived early and found no lines to check in. We walked right up to an agent. Sat in chairs for all of 5 minutes and boarding started. We were on the ship prior to our assigned check in time of 11am. Same thing in Cape Liberty, they weren't checking times. On our Oasis sailing last year, boarding started before 10am because no passengers were disembarking since the ship had deadheaded from Florida. We were in our cabin at 10:10am! This year, weren't on ship until just before 11am, also before our check in time.
  15. Some reservations are held back for those that don't make reservations prior to boarding. As soon as you board the ship, connect to Royal Wifi and try to see if you can get a reservation. I would do this while standing in line at wherever the box office is set up to make reservations. If they aren't able to get a reservation, there is a standby line for each show. On a recent Oasis sailing, we saw around 50 get in as standbys. Some had to stand the whole time, others found seats.
  16. What port have you experienced that timeline? You post that when people ask about disembarking and it is not accurate as ships arrive at different times and some ports are more efficient at getting people off the ship than others.
  17. We have sailed Anthem many times and feel it has the best WJ. The flow is much better than Oasis class ships and the quality of the food has always been great. We love the coffee bar there too.
  18. We have never had any issues getting reservations on Anthem when we have stayed in a JS. They have always given priority to JS. We have experienced the opposite on Oasis class, which is why we only book full suites on Oasis class.
  19. It looks like the percentages have changed since October. I quoted original post but post is awaiting approval, so this picture might post twice.
  20. The percentage discounts look different from what we had in October.
