Perhaps the initial refurbishment announcements were premature and the design was not confirmed. I n my experience, designers are good sales people but they never (rarely) consult with the actual engineers and trades people. the term "looks good on paper" comes to mind with designers. 🙂 Bottom line is that there will be a new shower, considerably bigger than before. That is normally good news except for those that want tubs. Having said that, most ships do not have tubs anyway so, no big deal. This issue is much ado about nothing. I suspect no one will cancel their cruise because of this announcement. 🙂

Are the stateroom fridge drinks free or are you charged for them? If charged, how much for the water and soft drinks?

I got the email form Oceania too. No big deal. The ship is not even in drydock yet and design is flexible at this point in the project. They just discovered some limitations and have to modify the design. No big deal.

We were there one time when there were many ships in port. I believe 2 of them tendered. As for the numbers of people, they schedule the ships so they don't arrive all at one time. Many, if not most, people do not stay on Cozumel but take the ferry over to mainland Play del Carmen and the sites beyond.

Docking all depends on when, how many ships in port and, of course weather.

O selected hotels, in our experience, are way overpriced. Going on the hotel website is even cheaper than what O is charging and, there are many hotels in the area much cheaper. There are many ways to get to Southampton, from private limo (expensive, up to $400) to bus rome2rio dot com has 4 options has options from $6 to $80 and 1.5 to 2.5 hours travel times.

Too bad. Rhodes was one of the surprising stops we made in the Med. Never expected much and was really happy we got to see it. A "hidden" gem of a port.

Yes. I called my agent and asked what was going on. He suspected that when they make offers like this, they are often already booked up. We are A2 and only a few, at the very back of the ship, A1 cabins are left and no suites available so, little for upgrade. Very few upgrades to be had. I went on the Oceania website and for my cruise and noticed price went down too. My agent gave me the lower price.

I asked my agent and he just got back to me with this "The promotion lowers the cost of the currently booked category, so there is no actual upgrade." We got a $500 reduction.

I have only seen OLife where they offer 1 of the following, not all 3. The math did not make sense.

Sorry for all the questions. It has been since 2017 that were were last on Oceania and things change. Their website is a bit more difficult to navigate and to find answers than most, and I am not a stranger to the internet. 🙂

Are soft drinks (Coke etc) and sparking waters (soda) free?

I am pretty good searching for things on tg=he internet but I am having difficulty finding current on board package prices. Drink Packages Internet prices Single drink prices, I can find the menus but not the associated price if I don't want to buy a package. Any help, with links would be appreciated.

I am surprised they sent that only to you. As someone said, that letter should be on their website so we all know.

Interesting. I would like to read that letter. It seems not every one of Scenic's clients gets these letters. Maybe only a few selected ones or maybe there is still issues with Scenic's systems and distribution has failed?

Getting from Ottawa to almost anywhere requires a lot of routing. From Toronto you can get there on 2 flights or less. Ours was a Budapest to Amsterdam trip. We departed from Frankfurt too. It is a traveller friendly airport. I suggest you stay near (at actually) the Frankfurt airport. The hotels all have shuttle to and from the airport and you can take a train from the airport to downtown Frankfurt for a bit of sight seeing. I cannot compare other river cruise lines but I can attest that Scenic has the service and extras that others do not seem to offer. As I said in a different post, we had several choices every day of excursions to go on (as well as an easy walkers choice for those with mobility issues). Great extras such as big dinners in a castle and a concert in Vienna Palace. They brought local entertainment on board almost every evening. The menus, on the right side were the same every day while the left side was the local cuisine. A mini bar in a cabin or hotel room are always a no no and stay away thing except on Scenic where they encourage you to have a drink or snack or chocolate bar 🙂

We chose not to use the Scenic flight offer. They gave us $500 (each) credit for that. We used Aeroplan points for business class flights to Nice and return from Lyon. If you intend on using points, book as early as you can to get the best available flights. Our flights were great, on time and our baggage arrived in Nice. The world wide airport delay and baggage issues had us very concerned but all for naught as all was as it should have been. This is our second Scenic cruise and we chose it again because even with low water ship changes on our first cruise, it was the best experience we have had. Service and conditions and extras were beyond our expectations. It is truly the only all inclusive vacation we ever had. We only took out our credit cards for souvenirs (and pre and post cruise activities) .

There was a lot of aggravation and stress because of Scenics problems but, backpack and document wallet arrived by mail 2 weeks ago. Trip documents came by email 10 days ago. Checked in online last night for our flights and we are ready to go. Long range forecast is for very hot weather in Southern France for the next 10 days but, a vacation was a long time coming and we will enjoy every minute.

I am pretty sure there was at least one. Can't remember from our Budapest to Amsterdam cruise we did a couple years ago if it was in the bathroom by the light or near the little desk at the foot of the bed. We have a lot of adapters from doing lots of European trips. BTW, We are in Ottawa too.

We are on the Sapphire soon. How many North American style electrical outlets are there? Where are they?
