  1. 2 AM? You are making me very tired. Do you have a hotel back up?
  2. Don't I wish! But, I will be onboard next year!
  3. That recipe looks really good, too! Thanks for sharing it. @mamaofamiI'm glad to hear Sam is out of the hospital! @kazuI'm pulling for all of your flights to go forward so you get home. I did go to the hairdresser yesterday and I went blonde. We didn't have time to do another layer of color, so I'm going to think on this for a while.
  4. I've never checked out the terminal shopping in Sydney. Maybe in October.
  5. We are planning to book it while we are on board in Norway this summer. We're celebrating my sister's retirement and my 70th.
  6. Good morning, everyone. It is looking like a beautiful day here in northeast Ohio. Bright sunshine greets you and the temps are perfect for doing my laps. I'll look and see if I have any Akureyri pictures. I didn't spend time in town and instead took an excursion that took me away from town and out to see wonderful geologic features. Today's meal sounds like a good one. In the first recipe you get the whole meal with an acceptable number of carbs as it uses spaghetti squash instead of noodles. You could use regular spaghetti noodles if you wanted. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/chicken-florentine-meatballs/ This next one looks a little green, but that is because of the spinach. I'll bet the meatballs taste divine. https://www.jessicagavin.com/chicken-florentine-meatballs-recipe/ IN this last recipe Rachael Ray uses a cheese sauce instead of a traditional tomato sauce. Keep in mind you can also use ground turkey instead of ground chicken. I suppose you could do it with ground beef as well, but spinach probably wouldn't stand out as much. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/florentine-meatballs-recipe-1944510 Prayers for all who need them, especially Ukraine, victims of gun violence, and our Daily family members who are struggling with challenges. Cheers to all who are celebrating. Wishing you all a wonderful day.
  7. I've always had that situation since I started cruising in 2007. I travel with my sister and she has her card and I have mine. Her charges go through her card and mine go through my card. It is programmed in your key card so they know which card and account to bill.
  8. There is a shorter one round trip out of Boston that we are going to book for next summer. It may run a couple of times during the summer, but we plan to do the July 29th one. It is 25 days. It doesn't go all the way to Europe, but does a great job of Iceland (6 ports) and Greenland (2 ports). The only problem with next year's itinerary is that it doesn't do Prins Cristian Sund.
  9. I almost went into a panic seeing the empty terminal in Halifax. They had the best shopping on that route. I'm glad the shops are coming back in time for my cruise in October. My t-shirts from the last time I was there are getting kind of ragged.
  10. Good morning, everyone. I slept in a bit today. I think that is becoming a pattern! I have a 9:00 am phone appointment with the endocrinologist. We are still trying to figure out what is causing my high calcium levels. I'm hoping it is something that doesn't require surgery. Today's meal sounds really good, just too many carbs. I haven't had time to check out the alternative pastas and it would depend on the calorie count. Pasta itself is pretty high and I'm sticking with the lower calorie vegetables and lean protein. Not that It is doing a lot of good. There are many variations that can be found for this dish. This first one uses an Alfredo sauce and spinach. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/creamy-prosciutto-pasta/ The next recipe calls for making your own cream sauce, but it quite easy. Do make sure you are grating your own parmesan and not using the stuff that comes in the jar. https://www.theseasonedmom.com/parmesan-cream-sauce/ This next one showcases different mushroom varieties along with the prosciutto. Mmmmm https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/pasta-with-mushrooms-and-prosciutto And this one uses fresh tomato and frozen peas. https://www.saltandlavender.com/prosciutto-pasta/ Prayers for all who need them, especially the people of Ukraine, victims of gun violence, and Daily family members struggling with challenges. Cheers for those who are celebrating, especially if it is on a BHB. Wishing you all a wonderful day!
  11. Good morning, everyone! Rain is in our forecast for today and that is a good thing. We need it. Nothing on the agenda today except a Zoom later on with my Norway gang. Three weeks! We can hardly wait. Today's meal sounds really good to me, just a little too carby for my blood sugar. Oh, well. I could make the sauce and put it on something else. If you don't want the heat you can get the mild Italian sausage and leave out the red pepper flakes. https://pinchofyum.com/spicy-sausage-rigatoni This next one sounds really good, but it is definitely not for those who are counting calories or anything else. 740 calories per serving. Wow! https://spicysouthernkitchen.com/italian-sausage-rigatoni-with-spicy-cream-sauce/ The last one sounds nice and cheesy with mascarpone cheese, parmesan cheese, and fontina cheese. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/spicy-sausage-rigatoni/ Prayers for all who need them, especially Ukraine, victims of gun violence, and our Daily family members who are struggling with challenges. Cheers for those who are celebrating, especially if it is on a BHB. Wishing you all a very good day.
  12. They had salmon heads at the grocery store today. There must be more people that use them than I thought. I did not buy one.
  13. A big welcome to @ktbraun and @Nickelpenny. We're glad you've joined us and feel free to add comments whenever you wish. We don't all have the same opinions about things, but that is ok because we work hard to keep things friendly and accepting. We started out at the beginning of the pandemic and for some of us, this was a great opportunity for contact with others. When we were under stay at home orders we all reached out. Some of us lived alone and this was a life line. @Vict0riann I am glad Pat is giving the doctor a call. I have the same problems along with degenerative disc disease and scoliosis with a dislocation of the sacroiliac. Sometimes my legs go numb if the nerve is being compressed. Sometimes when walking I will get pain in my thighs that becomes unbearable. I have found a cane helps if I am walking any distance. As much as I hate to use it, I can do more with it. Short distances are ok without it. If I want to hike I use my poles. I think regular exercise is one of the keys to keeping mobile with these things. @Cruising-along I keep mine at 76. When it is hot here, it is also humid. If I can get the humidity out of the house it is much more comfortable. The trees in the back yard do a wonderful job of shading my house and keeping it cool. Today was a hot one, but I haven't turned on the air and it is nice and cool in the house.
  14. Good morning, everyone. It is quite a nice morning here in northeast Ohio. It is supposed to warm up to 90 later in the day. We shall see. Not much on the agenda today except the pool at 10:00 am. Congratulations to Sandi @StLouisCruisers and her DH on his release from Covid detention. It is said that we will all get it eventually, but I hope it isn't on a cruise. I'm starting my routine to reduce exposure now for my cruise coming up mid July. I love sloppy joes. I haven't had one in years and would probably take the easy way out by browning ground beef and adding a can of Manwich. But, in the interest of health, let's look at some of the recipes for using ground turkey. I'm sure ground chicken would work just as well. This first one claims to be quick and easy with ingredients you probably already have. https://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/healthy-turkey-sloppy-joes-homemade-sauce/ The jalapenos are optional. This one gives us a list of substitutions and options to make this your own recipe. https://www.thechunkychef.com/turkey-sloppy-joes/ The seasonings in this one are a little different. But, probably just as good. https://www.spendwithpennies.com/turkey-sloppy-joes/ This next one is really basic and really easy. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/quick-easy-turkey-sloppy-joes/ And here's one for the slow cooker. https://realfoodwholelife.com/recipes/slow-cooker-turkey-sloppy-joes/ Prayers for those in need, especially Ukraine, the victims of gun violence, and Daily family members struggling with challenges. Cheers to those who are celebrating. Wishing you all a great day!
  15. Exactly!! Those differences are what makes the world so interesting.
  16. Great news on your eyes! Congratulations! We don't look down on those who like fish heads. I think it is all in what you are familiar with and how adventurous a person is. I remember having that same reaction to things my mother talked about eating as a child. She grew up on a farm and they wasted nothing.
  17. As well as it should have been! You do know there are no carbs in birthday cake when you eat it on your birthday. And, someone must have wished you a happy birthday. With all of your Daily friends, you could have eaten the whole cake. I had that problem once with my PCC. It wasn't her, it was the office staff. The physicians group she belongs to were the ones who hired the office staff and they were rotating in and out on an almost daily basis. I finally went down to the office, told them what needed to happen, and said I would be waiting in the office until they did it. Only took them 20 minutes. That seating diagram looks just about right. What a beautiful picture and memory. I'm pretty sure that most of the people here would be happy to let you have their portion of fish head. I know I would. It is nice to find one person who has actually had the dish and liked it. @grapau27 I'm glad the injection is helping. I had pretty good relief for a long time with the cortisone shots.
  18. Good morning, everyone. It is a cold start to the day today - 55F but sunny and bright. It will end up being a very nice day. Nothing on tap today other than my morning laps and the pool later this morning. Today's meal is interesting, but I doubt I'll be running out to buy fish heads to make it. I think I'm going with Roy's alternative meal today. I'm sure the Fish Head Curry is flavorful, but I lose my appetite thinking of fish eyes staring at me. Or, what if they fall out of the fish head and into the curry? Would I be able to find them to fish them out? Well, here is the first recipe for those who are brave enough to try it. https://www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/fish-head-curry~HyPIdPjvf5-Q Ok, this next one says go ahead and substitute fish fillets for the head. Now, that I may try. https://www.foodelicacy.com/fish-head-curry/ And we have one more to choose from. I think I'd like the sauce on a nice fillet. https://www.thespruceeats.com/fish-head-curry-3030407 Thanks, Rich, for keeping the meal of the day interesting! Prayers for all who need them, especially Ukraine, victims of gun violence, and our Daily family members struggling with challenges. May this weekend be the cathartic @kazu Jacqui needs to continue healing. Special prayers for Tana, Buddy, Curt, and @Heartgrove Jack's DB. Cheers to those who are celebrating. Wishing a Bon Voyage to all those embarking on a BHB. I hope everyone has a great day.
  19. I think you're right! Thanks. I'm still debating. My urologist liked it, too. The medical assistant at my doctor's office asked if I was going to get it done again. And my surgeon said he didn't think I was crazy. You can do just the ends. Kind of like this: There is really no excuse for taking a month for a script for therapy. But, you are at their mercy. Go and enjoy the company and the understanding. Let it out. Friends understand. Good news! Don't worry about being a mess. That is what this weekend with sister and friends is for.
