  1. Strange that your cruise which is during UK half term holidays and during a four day public holiday week has such low numbers. Sounds like ours is going to be much busier. Thanks for all the info. We've different ports but anything about the ship is good to hear. One thing I noticed in the app for this weeks cruise it just seems to show only one theatre show at 9pm. Is that correct? Maybe because of the low numbers? Normally there are two a night
  2. I still do when visiting a 92 year old relative and I did after a cruise when visiting my baby grandson. But cases are dropping rapidly here so it's not such a thing as a few months ago We still have a few of the free govt tests, so no big deal
  3. We're looking after the crazy pup for a couple of days . Poor molly, she really doesn't like Nala jumping in her face and wanting to play. Will be interesting to see how it goes overnight 🤔
  4. So sorry to hear Bonnie, amazing how just a second can change everything . Hope you're not in too much pain and mend quickly
  5. We have a basic cruise price without drink package and wifi, though we did add prepaid gratuities . Therefore the Elite happy hour is of value to us
  6. https://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/2022-05-31/diners-keep-eating-as-britains-most-flooded-pub-fills-with-water Not sure if this link will open in other countries, but a story in my second favourite Cornish village. The pub got flooded but diners and drinkers kept on eating and drinking Take your wellies if you go 😁 Cheers 🍻
  7. Our prices are also hit because oil is priced in dollars worldwide and our currency has dropped against the dollar. Also though the UK get hardly any fuel from Russia, a lot of Europe does and they are now looking for new suppliers pushing the price up again Supply and demand I guess
  8. When I was in my early twenties I had a holiday romance in Hawaii. He lived there. We wrote (no smart phones then) for a while but long distance romances don't really work
  9. I watched the first two episodes yesterday. Good series but wish it was better lit. I find a lot of programmes these days seem to be really dark
  10. We were on Silhouette a couple of weeks ago and saw no evidence of discounting but we didn't ask. Past cruises we have has waiters coming round the main dinning room offering 30% off. I think there's a lot of OBC around at moment and people seem willing to pay these (IMO) high prices There are no half price first night deals offered on Beyond in our planner for June so I presume they are happy with their full price pre sales
  11. Thanks very much, very helpful. There's so much tech that needs charging these days
  12. It's a completely different game to American football. If you think its slow you should watch traditional cricket. My dad took Gary to Lords when we were first married to try and explain cricket to him. He just didn't get it ( and still doesn't) The more modern style of cricket is faster paced, twenty20.
  13. Think the next time Italy looks at its regulations is 15 Jun
  14. Hi can anyone whos been on Beyond in a normal infinity balcony advise what types of outlets there are, US, continental, UK or USB? And how many . Thanks
  15. we were in 9283 - Norway Fjords cruise. Happy with this floor - in the middle of most attractions, i.e. dinning room, theatre, shops, pool deck (though it was too cold for the pool) that we didn't have to take the lift most times. Happy with our choice (concierge, was all that was available when we booked late, but nice boarding day lunch with wine and little extras throughout the cruise)
  16. The Med diet is very healthy
  17. Thanks for your blog, sounds like you had a great time. Love the entertainment on Royals big ships. Love also that at Southampton you can park right outside the ship and get your bags picked up from your car , so convenient Should of been on her in September but due to a happy family event we've cancelled. Maybe sneak in a quickie before she goes back to her other home
  18. Thank you for your update. We're boarding on the 13th June, though not in a suite. Looking forward to it very much, your positive review is great to hear
  19. The Meds has always seemed later for set dinning times. I seem to remember it was 9pm years ago
  20. Agree its way less harmful, but the important side issue is the subsequent quarantine that you have to endure if you catch covid on board and the difficulties in getting back to your home country if it still has a negative test mandate to travel. Also agree on immunity in the general population. Thats what's happened here. Our rates was 1 in 12 with covid in March. It's now 1 in 60 and continuing downward. Of course all bets are off if a more dangerous variant comes along 🙄
  21. Have you had Omicron before? I think you get good immunity from particular variants if you've had it already. Otherwise well done on avoiding it and enjoying your cruises.
