  1. ALL THIS IS AWFUL

San Juan and st martin are both so beautiful. What other islands are hit really bad?

Barbuda took the first direct hit. This island is just north of Antigua so they may have very bad damage as well. Next direct hit was St. Maarten and Anguilla which we've been to as we took the ferry over from St. Maarten. Next direct hit was the British Virgins including Tortola. St. Thomas and St. John were very close to the eye wall as well so they probably have serious damage as well. Puerto Rico looks like they missed the worst of it. Meteorologist on weather channel said Turks & Caicos may take a direct hit tomorrow.

  2. Irma will cause devestation on lots of Carribbean islands , the Bahamas and the South of Florida I am afraid.

Global Warming at work and it will only get worse my dear Americans.:(

Stupid post. Hurricanes have been around for a long time. Way before radar, and all weather equipment. This is a big one, one of the strongest in recorded history yes, but the key is recorded history.

  3. Same here! I booked the Liberty cruise several months back when it was super cheap, hoping the flights would reasonable. I will probably be canceling it going on the Anthem or Adventure instead. I can't justify that sky high cost of airfare.

Yea not sure what we'll do. We got a great price on a family panoramic ocean view for our family of 4. Yea I know the minimum is supposed to be 5 but we got it. I'm thinking we'll keep it and just keep looking for a cheaper fare and hope it happens. If not we'll pay it but this will be a one and done from Galveston.

  4. Flights from BWI (Baltimore) to Houston (Hobby) on SWA are out of this world high with only 2 or 3 nonstops and probably only one coming home that is in a good time. Will be close to 2 grand for 4 of us. Usually to FLL or MCO it's $1000 or less for us four. Seriously having second thoughts about sailing out of Galveston with the flights and transfers and the high cost of hotels there.

  5. I was looking to reserve online but was wondering about the aqua park. If I don't reserve that online because I'm not sure right now if my kids want to do it can we just pay for it the day we are there? I'm sure you probably can but just wanted to make sure.

  6. We would like to do the long tour as well but with a 9 year old and a 2 hour drive each way we may do one of the shorter routes and ruins. Maybe someday when it's just me and the wife we'll do the longer one. We sail next April and haven't made our minds up yet.

  7. We did the closer one because we had a 7 year old with us and that extra drive sounded like too much for her. Honestly what we saw was pretty neat and it's also nice to get back to port with time to look around and shop (port area was decent, I would say). But if it was just my wife and I, I might have done the farther away one. You so get to climb around quite a bit, just not to the top of the big temples. They're pretty good so I wouldn't worry about getting back on time. I think it mostly depends on what else you may or may not want to do.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Yes we will have a 9 year old and he hates to be in a car that long or bus probably in this case. He drives us nuts driving to his grandparents and that is an hour away. It would be nice to see but we may do the shorter excursion.

  8. Mr. Sanchos was great, can go all inclusive or do a la carte if you don't plan on eating or drinking a lot. Have a shopping area as well. $17 taxi each way (for 4). Also heard great things about Paraside Beach (right next door same taxi price). I would also agree on doing excursions in another port. We did monkeys/sloths/island tour with Victor Bodden on Roatan, amazing! And Mayan ruins through Native Choice in Costa Maya was fantastic!

Wow sounds like what we're doing next year in April. We are going to Mr.Sanchos and doing the same Bodden tour in Roatan and doing a Native Choice ruin tour in Costa Maya. We haven't decided which one yet. Which one did you do? We are thinking of doing the one you can climb up but that one is so far away, about a two hour drive each way from the pier.

  9. I've never been on Disney so I'm no help in that regard. But I've been on Oasis with my two boys and they loved it. Yes there are charges for a few things but still don't think it would add up to paying more than on Disney which I've heard is very expensive. The Oasis has many things to offer as others have said and also the show in the aqua theater was very cool and my boys loved it. We had a boardwalk balcony cabin so we could watch it from our balcony.

  10. Trinida & Tobago absolutely as well as St. Croix. Went to St. Croix a few years ago on Celebrity and loved it.

We went to St. Croix on Adventure of the seas last year in April 2016. It was our favorite port. Don't they go there anymore? I'd like to see them add Trinidad and Tobago, British Virgin Islands and possibly Guadeloupe.

  11. JUST FYI.....their online rate just went $55 r/t per person from Hobby A/P. I founfd this out this morning (7/19/17) They said they now have to pay the port to be allowed in so they need to pass the expense to "you & me"

Great, I was going to book with them for our April cruise but was waiting for our flight schedule to come out so I could give them a time. Boy cruising out of here is expensive, this will be the last time.

  12. We had 12729 on Oasis before with my boy who was 5 at the time. I don't remember him complaining about the walk but my 13 year old and him liked to race from the room to the elevator so that's probably why. Big brother bullies. The view to see the aqua theater and show are great. My oldest loved watching it every time it was performed. But it can be noisy even with our door sealed shut. Is your little one sleeping in a pullman bed or a sofa bed? We had both in our room, yes 4 in a small cabin. Probably wouldn't do it again. We have family panoramic ocean view for our next cruise.

  13. 2000 on Monarch of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. We went to Sandals in Jamaica for our honeymoon in 1996 and we fell in love with the water, the palm trees and just the vibe. We've done cruises and AI almost every year since. (Have to sneak Disney in there every three or four years with the kids}. Our family and friends think we're nuts but I say I think they're nuts for wasting 3 to 4 grand a year to go to a mid atlantic crowded beach where the water is 70 degrees.

  14. Looking for recent cruisers on Adventure & Jewel of the Seas. Were you diverted to Martinique in lieu of St Lucia as scheduled? I'm not a fan of Martinique and looking at options for September of this year for a last minute cruise on Adventure. Heard a rumor that they are dredging the harbor?

We did this tour last year on Adventure. It was a great day.
