  1. You don't need to book any shore excursions through the ship. Very expensive and usually more crowded. I agree with poster about Bernard's tours in St. Maarten or you can take a cab to Orient Beach (nude optional beach) or Maho Beach where the planes fly directly over your head. In Barbados we like to take a cab to the Boatyard. It's a beautiful beach. You pay $15 pp I think and you get a lounger, umbrella, drink of your choice and a ride back to the ship. That was the cost about a year ago. The other islands we have been there but it's been years. Have fun.

  2. I'm looking at suite 9392. I assume it would be as good as the one you had right next door?

    thanks

Your balcony is bigger than our was since we were on the corner. We had one lounger and one upright chair. You may have room for two loungers. I never peeked around the corner so not sure. Just loved to watch the wake of the ship.

  3. Can someone tell me how bad the views are obstructed for the aft balcony rooms on the Adventure Thank you

We had a corner aft (9390) last year. No obstruction looking out but some looking down at lower decks. We loved it, would definitely do it again.

  4. Not sure exactly where Days Inn is located; if you can give me address I can be more specific. On the Seawall there is The Spot (Hamburgers, sandwiches, salads etc), Fishtales (seafood) and Bennos (Cajun seafood) which are all pretty good. The Cajun Greek is on 61st but close the Seawall and serves up good food. More upscale there is Gaidos, Shearns (at Moody Gardens Hotel) and Rudy and Paco's (downtown). The best news is the Texas Legislature passed a law favorable to ride sharing companies so Uber is returning to the Island. Don't know exactly when they will return.

8712 Seawall Blvd. As a previous poster listed two restaurants I did verify those on a map. We are just looking for a decent place to eat and stay. Didn't want to break the bank when we'll be in the hotel for about 14 hours.

  5. Depends on how long your ship is in port and which NC tour you take, but this is very doable. Suggest taxi to Blue Kay, or Tropicante, or Pez Quadro. All are PAYGO. All have loungers, umbrellas or palapas. All have good food. Tropic ante has the better bar, IMO. All have massageTropicante . Pez Quadro used to be the 2nd best (El Faro had better-but they weren't on the beach and the ownership has changed),but masseuse's move around a lot now.

We are in port from 8am to 5 pm on the Liberty of the Seas so not as long as some ships. I will look at the choices from Native Choice for an early departure.

  6. We are considering doing a ruins tour with native choice for us and our two boys next April. We'd like them to see and learn a little bit about the Mayan history and such but would also like to hit a beach (not an all day pass type) for a few hours possibly with a place the wife and I could get a massage. Is this possible or am I dreaming? Preferably the beach has to at least offer lounge chairs and an umbrella with a restaurant or bar that serves some food. And again the massage.

  7. Unfortunately the Commonwealth of PA is still resistant and has made little progress in complying with the Real ID Act. As of Jan 2018 a PA driver's will not qualify as acceptable i.d. for airline passengers in this state.

Yea unfortunately this state doesn't move too fast on any issues including fixing roads. Another reason to get out and head south.

  8. Evening,

RC has been gracious enough to change us from St. Lucia to Martinique on an upcoming sailing. Does anyone have some excursion recommendations? We depart in 20 days, so I'm crunched for time as far as research.

    Thanks.

We used this company last year. It was a really fun tour with many food samplings. The guide is the owner and she speaks really good English.

  9. We have stayed there twice and plan to stay there again next April. We like it and it is much less than most of the other hotel/motels. There is a little strip mall about a block away that has a little place to eat but most everything is further away. We normally book as soon as they open reservations to get the best rate. Hope you have a great cruise.

Thanks for your input as I did book it tonight. It was a really good rate I got compared to some of the others I priced out. I assume there is no shuttle to the ship? How much was a cab? We are on Liberty of the Seas. We are also sailing next April on the 8th.

  10. It's been a little slow on the gulf coast departures board so I thought I would ask this here. To your knowledge which hotels can you just have a 1 night minimum stay as compared to some I know are 2 night minimum stays? And while you're at it you can give me any info on any of these hotels? Any info is appreciated as this is a new departure point for us. Thanks.
