Maine has the BEST blueberries! They are small, but delicious! Be sure to have a blueberry dessert, like blueberry pie…..it’s blueberry season there in August! There should still be plenty. West side cafe makes a good blueberry pie! I second the shore path walk, to the left as you exit the tender pier, if you have any time left over…..beautiful seaside mansions and homes looking out to Frenchman’s Bay. Have fun in beautiful Bar Harbor….a place near and dear to my heart! If you are adventurous or just a glutton for punishment, try the lobster ice cream at the Chocolate Emporium.

I read the Azamara boards faithfully. What I have read from first time Azamara cruisers who are Celebrity Captains Club members is that they are receiving reciprocal status with Azamara currently, so-long as they provide their Captains Club number to Azamara.

Jim, just a little hint for Portland Maine sail in: it is beautiful and if you get up early enough, you will sail right past Portland Headlight in Cape Elizabeth ……..one of the most famous lighthouses in the USA. You should be able to get some great photos! You will also see Fort Gorges in the middle of the channel as you sail in….another great photo and then Bug Light (much smaller).. I am a native Mainer but we still got up for that sail in and it was thrilling….even though we have seen it thousands of times! Hoping for no fog for you in Portland or Bar Harbor! Have you been there before? If not, you are in for a treat! Thanks for the postings…..have loved all your photos and commentaries.

So is the forward spa deck only now available for upper suites and closed to all others on Onward and Pursuit?

I would like to know the answer to this….good question! I was just thinking about this recently. Also there were some reports that only top suites can use the spa decks, not CC suites, but it seemed to vary on each ship……what is the situation now?

If it were me, I would call Azamara or have my travel agent do it and make sure Azamara has your Captains Club number. It does not show on your page you copied. My CC number and my Azamara number are exactly the same. Make sure Azamara has your CC number.

If my recent one and only Viking experience is any indication, you will be going in circles in the am and the communication is much less from their officers than my experiences with Celebrity and Azamara ….sorry. edited to say….hopefully you may be docking.

Alejandro, who I asked about, is on Apex. Rich is on Summit and leaves 9/11. Damian is possibly replacing him…….that is what person mentioned.

Can you comment on what going on with the wines? We had the Ultimate Package last cruise and the wines were not great. Now I read they are running out of wine on the Ultimate Package……. I am not encouraged!

How about the wines being served? Glad to hear your reports on Windows dinners. We really enjoyed them on our last cruise. We had several specialty restaurant dinners, several in Windows, several at the Patio and only one in MDR. Have fun! Is the Patio open for dinner?

Totally agree! We found the same issues. We much prefer Blu. would love to see pics of your aft cabin because we have one booked, too!

I perked up to see this, but unfortunately I think that’s old. Quest did go there for one season and possibly this is left over from then. I searched for Alaska under destinations on Azamara and it was not there. I would love to see them go back to Alaska. New offerings for 2024 are due to come out end of summer or early Fall, so I have been told by my TA. Let’s cross our fingers that Alaska might be offered again.
