  1. I seem to recall that the "drink of the day" advertised in the Daily is also included in the Elite HH.
  2. There was an article in our paper about the lack of snow in the Alpine regions of Europe this winter, which implies low water levels for summer. Not looking forward to a 3k pp bus trip.
  3. Seriously, if tap or ship water is a problem, as others have posted buy a 12 or 24 pack of your preferred brand, tag it and have it delivered to your cabin with the rest of your luggage. At least Celebrity doesn't charge for distilled water! HAL did at the cost of $5! Probably best if the OP does cancel since he's upset about much more than not being able to have water as he prefers.
  4. When our corkscrew was confiscated before a flight to Europe due to its 1/2 in. knife-like foil cutter, I panicked and our first mission when we arrived in Frankfurt was to find a corkscrew. Hard to come by so we purchased a Peugeot branded model for @25 euro! Never used it because every bottle of wine we bought in Germany, France and Switzerland had a screw top!!!
  5. Ten of us are boarding in Amsterdam with an overnight there on Avalon Expression arriving there from Paris via Thalys. Booking for the train opens 120 days out and the most reasonable fares are at that time. All of us have visited Amsterdam previously. Part of the group is planning on visiting the Anne Frank House the afternoon we board the boat, but then I saw Daisi’s post that there is an afternoon excursion on boarding day. Should the others proceed with the plan for AnneFrank that afternoon? Any insights into boarding day for Avalon out of Amsterdam?
  6. I recall that my now deleted email about this webinar stated PUPs would be credited January 14!
  7. Hmm. We will be on The Silhouette next month. I can mosey up to Deck 8 and try to get a peek into one of those cabins!
  8. I have seen photos of these forward facing OVs with a 2 club chairs and a small table between them right in front of that slanted window! But most pix show dead space there. Since the Eclipse is not revolutionized, I fear that we will have dead space when we sail her in cabin 8101. If so, I will ask our room attendant if it is possible to please bring down a couple of chairs from the conference room!
  9. A Heads Up (although this has likely been discussed previously on this forum)! I didn't know that a cruise booked using the Future Cruise Certificate cannot be transferred to a TA unless the future cruise is booked within 30 days of the date the FCC was bought! Booked a cruise on 12/8 and submitted my request to transfer the booking yesterday. Immediately the email response came from Celebrity denying the transfer because the booking was more than 30 days past. I'd never noticed that the date of booking on our reservation was not December 8th but September 12th, the date the FCC was purchased on an Alaska Millennium cruise!
  10. Our only river cruise thus far was on Avalon from Nuremberg to Budapest in November 2019. Since we'd previously visited both Budapest and Prague on land vacations, we opted to take the train to Munich post-cruise. Here's where we stayed and recommend all! Budapest: Hotel Palazzo Zichy Munich: Hotel Metropol Prague: Golden Wheel Hotel I highly recommend the extra cost excursion to Cesky Krumlow! Question re: airfare with Avalon. Can we call Avalon directly? Or must we work through our travel agent?
  11. When do you set sail? We are on the Silhouette as of 2/27! If that is your cruise, join our roll call!
  12. Some recent photos of forward-facing OV cabins on S-class ships show two club chairs and a table in front of the window. I really hope that this arrangement exists across that class fleet since we've booked 8101 on the Eclipse!
  13. Thanks for the offer, Elvis! Basseterre"s cathedral has 8:30 Sunday Mass which is where we'll be if no priest aboard!
  14. Yes, and we are counting on those 5 points to bring us to 745! So just 5 more needed by our next cruise!
  15. If Celebrity really loves us loyal cruisers, we'll get a gift again this year! If Celebrity really loves DH & me, ours will be worth 50 PUPs since we need just 5 points to reach Elite+ by 2/27!
  16. Re: Anniversary Even if not the exact date, select a night during your rescheduled cruise to celebrate. Probably not the first or last as those nights are more challenging for the waitstaff. Let Celebrity know your "new" anniversary date. On our last cruise our anniversary was a couple of days after we disembarked so we celebrated the fake date on the ship and were given a few surprise treats by Celebrity.
  17. For some reason, Celebrity holds cabins that sleep more than 2 as unavailable when they in fact are open. Because those cabins holding 3 or 4 have the bed by the bath on S-class ships, those are the ones DH and I prefer, but we call Celebrity or our warehouse TA to request them. Suggest that you make the call knowing exactly which cabins you want to book and save yourself online search time.
  18. I am disappointed that she won't be revolutionized for our 2024 cruise. We've sailed her 50 nights starting in 2010 when she was just a few months old. It's time for a change from those red/orange tones in the cabin even if her internal configuration, e.g. building the Retreat, remains the same.
  19. Nearly an hour long but you can multi task while it plays.
  20. Please, please one more 50 aka 5 point webinar with a January watch date and mid-February add date! Since we are perkless on the Silhouette I really need that + benefit of coffees at al Bacio!
  21. Interesting that stockholder benefit is approved for sailings far in advance! I have bought/sold/bought again and, while I will be a shareholder for our February cruise, I may not for our August 2024 sailing. Hmmmm.
  22. As far as I know ALL non-suite cabins have rounded corner beds. Not a problem for the average height person. e.g., us in our cruises in veranda cabins on both the Eclipse and Solstice, but perhaps a taller cruiser might chime in.....
  23. Pre-Covid Celebrity would have Catholic priests aboard during the Christmas and Lenten/Easter seasons. Does anyone know if this is currently occurring? Thanks.
  24. @aussietwo Sometimes cabins are blocked out for a travel agency. At this point I'd suggest just staying put in your deck 6 cabins because IMHO why add additional stress to the day you board the Eclipse especially if you need to see the Maitre'd to join your group together for dining. Not sure if the check-in agents could move you anyway and if not, you'd have to go to Guest Relations. If you stick to where you're at, you will get the "key" to your cabin and be able to drop your carryons off there while you have lunch. Otherwise, you'll be schlepping. We've stayed in a variety of Deck 6 veranda cabins on the Eclipse and even the 2D with a big lifeboat blocking some of the view was fine.
  25. Emails meant for my DH are going to a friend"s. I clicked on "manage preference" at the bottom of the email our friend forwarded and cannot delete her address to insert DH's. She also received one meant for me re: the Metaverse which she forwarded and going into "manage preferences" on that email, voila! mine was the one listed. How she got mine is beyond me. Meanwhile, she's not received the "thank you" for booking letter for the same cruise we've both booked. Her confirmation email was sent to their address and is in their name at least!
