  1. Targeted to elite too, at least that's how my email greeting began.
  2. Did any Elite member get the email from Celebrity to join the Metaverse? I've not done so yet, but wonder if any PUPs are attached to it.
  3. Yes, I just had success directly with Celebrity!!! My friend bought 2 FCC's onboard her Alaska cruise- one for each of us. I repaid her the $200 for it and she gave me the certificate. Yesterday a.m. I wanted to book a cruise. When I gave the Celebrity reservationist the # of my FCC she told me it was in the name of our friend- uh oh. But she said that the friend could verbally authorize my using it. Luckily my friend was awake at 7:45 am when I called her on my cell phone, put the cell phone up against my home phone that the agent was on, and the verbal agreement was sufficient for us to proceed with our booking using the FCC! I suggest a conference call with you, your brother and the TA. Cite my experience and have your TA contact Celebrity to verify. Or....again via conference call with your brother on the line too book directly with Celebrity and then transfer the booking within 30 days to your travel agent!
  4. I would book a Tours by Locals for the morning before the ship departs. HoHo bus in BA is not as well run as in other cities and would not be a good use of your short time in the city IMHO. Plan on crashing when you arrive in the late afternoon, so choose a hotel that is near restaurants for a late dinner which is typical in Argentina, maybe even a tango dinner/show? La Boca is great but also consider the cemetery de la Recoleta and the floralis generica.
  5. The Iceland/Boston cruise is out for 2024 and I am booking it right now with Celebrity as I post!
  6. @Maya_C Would be lovely to meet on a Celebrity cruise one day! In addition to the one we've booked for February, we are ready to commit to Iceland/Greenland/Boston for 2024 as soon as the sail date is published. Any interest?
  7. Yes, I am! You? If so, you are only the 2nd alumna who has picked up the connection to our high school since I joined Cruise Critic!
  8. Booked two thanks to the workaround that was posted here and on the other thread! Our only previously booked excursion was actually up in price!
  9. On our own in Ravenna, Dubrovnik, and Rhodes at older ages than you two, Stockjock! Did Celeb tour to Oia Santorini and ditched it there. We explored Oia before the crowds arrived and then walked down to Ammoudi "port" for lunch and to take a private boat back to the tender area. (not sure this is possible anymore). We had a private tour in Ephesus- be sure to see the Terrace Houses!
  10. Since the itinerary we want to book hopefully follows that of the Summit from Iceland-Boston, maybe I'll find it when NE/Canada sailings are published. A girl can hope.....
  11. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas- except Christmas is always December 25th! First the 5th, then the 8th and now the 14th (if that date sticks)!
  12. So, if so, do we log into Celebrity and then search? I've just been checking for our desired itinerary without logging in.
  13. What appeals to me in using a TA as a “group” organizer is the details of each couples’ booking rest with her! As friends decide to come along, they call her to book informing her they are with the Framily group. We are DIYIng the pre and post cruise land portions and trying to navigate and book group rates for trains, etc. isn’t easy, but I doubt that it would be worthwhile for a TA to deal with it.
  14. Wouldn’t surprise me if chengkp75 was captaining! Go Mariners!
  15. Well maybe if Celebrity follows this thread and sees all the recent off-topic posts about other cruise lines, the person in charge of PUPs will offer a new one pronto in hopes of maintaining defectors!
  16. I think we will be fine on our upcoming "Cruise Only" cruise as elite (and if PUPs come our way beforehand elite+). 2 bottles of wine each brought aboard, bloodies at the elite breakfast, and grabbing a water or two with our happy hour cocktails. The internet we get with elite bennies is better than what's included with AI. Paying for a drink or two during the day is negligible. The big difference will be having gratuities added to our final bill.
  17. IDK, but maybe? Just keep checking both on Celebrity's website and here on Cruise Critic.
  18. I plan on looking starting 12/4/2022 when the Europe itineraries are expected to be published as soon as the 5th. On the Celebrity website go to Europe>Iceland. The 2023 Reykjavik to Boston shows up there so hopefully the 2024 Eclipse sailing will be published there rather than under Canada/New England later in the month.
  19. Since the 2023 Iceland/Greenland on the Summit is the itinerary we hope to book for 2024, from the chart is appears that the Eclipse replaces the Summit for NE/Canada? Would being a larger vessel affect the routing? We are especially interested in the Greenland and Canadian Maritimes ports that the Summit visits!
  20. One of the sentence prompts on a test of writing skills I administer in my profession is: "Write a good sentence that tells why it is dangerous to wear headphones when you ride your bike down a busy street." Maybe not as dangerous as the above, but Danger, Danger could apply to wearing headphones on a busy Celebrity walking/running track. I'd suggest that Celebrity should post rules for using the track, e.g. keep right except to pass, single file, etc. but we all know how well rules work for chair hogs.
  21. Learned from my downhill ski days that a loud "On your left" or "On your right" works equally well when approaching a slower walker, runner, etc. Helps the speedier one and the slower one both!
  22. The early bird... Another question: When holding a cabin or actually reserving it online, how is the Cap't Club one category upgrade input and honored?
  23. At what time are the new itineraries released? At midnight? We know the itinerary and desired cabin category we want based on the '23 sailing and want to be prepared to book immediately. Please share any tidbits for booking asap once the schedule is released. Thanks!
  24. If you follow me as I get on an escalator, you'd guess I came from a small town and you'd be wrong! Maybe it's a leftover fear from riding those old wooden escalators in Macy's NYC!
  25. Baltic, although keep in mind that your 14 hours docked in Berlin (Warnemunde) is actually a three hour journey each way from Warnemunde to Berlin! So essentially less than 8 hours in that city. We opted to stay in the port area on our Eclipse Baltic cruise thinking that we'd visit Berlin for a longer time in the future. We did about half a decade later and saw and did so much more than possible on a limited port stop!
