  1. Normally after your carry on goes through security - there is a wine table where you go - your wine is checked and charged to your on board account and they give you stickers to put on your bottles so that it is identified corkage has been paid.
  2. I just received an email from Karen @luvteaching She is currently on the Westerdam and has been reading the Daily every day but the internet is blocking her from signing onto CC so she can post. 😱 Here is her update copy and pasted in bold. We're having a lovely cruise (Seattle roundtrip). We left Sunday andembarkation was a breeze. Our boarding time was 12:20 and we were in our cabin by then! Ship has about 1200 passengers. In Glacier Bay yesterday the port side azipod went down. We didn't get as close to the glacier as we have in the past but it was still nice. Today our stop is Sitka and we'll be in at about 10:45 AM. which is almost 3 hours late. HAl is flying in an expert and they are hoping to get the azipod fixed. At this point, though, Ketchikan has been canceled and we'll head straight for Victoria. The Captain is Captain Smit and he is doing well at keeping us informed.
  3. I think I can help you - Just insert one photo at a time and then hit enter to make a couple of spaces and then insert the new photo.
  4. Great shots! I loved Meteora. Our day wasn’t as clear as yours though. I believe they hope to fly her out to Toronto on August 1st. The group here then has to get her into N.B. I’ll probably have more of an update as it gets closer 🤞 Nice shot! We had the good fortune to see this one time in Athens. We were not giggling at all - very impressed!
  5. You’re off to a great start 👍. thanks for stepping up! @Cruzin Terrigood luck with your battle and your insurance claims. 🤞 What wonderful news, Melissa ! Truly uplifting! Prayers for his continued recovery and improvement 🙏🏻 Oh dear, Jack 😢 My prayers for him continue 🙏🏻 I am happy to say that Shadow is a she, not a he. All our dogs except for Fox were males…..Finally, another female 👍
  6. Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich. Wonderful to see France celebrating Fete National (aka Bastille Day) with a tribute to Ukraine 👍 Not sure if I want to celebrate today’s collection of days especially pandemonium - I’ve had more than enough 😉 I have to stop saying “it is what it is” apparently. LOL on Marilyn’s quote. The meal of the day sounds intriguing (sans tofu). We have been to today’s port several times. It offers other sights nearby besides Athens well worth seeing. DH had one pile of garden tools in the shed. I found one I hadn’t seen before (Jose must have bought it for him to help in the garden - who knows how long ago?) and tried it in the garden. Oh my, it was pretty good at helping me weed 👍. I’ll be trying it again today for sure 😉 Well, it was 5 days so I nervously took the special bandages off to wash and treat the toe and re-bandage. Ugh. Never fear - I don’t believe in sharing injury pictures 😂 A better pic of Shadow that I screen shot from a video. I grieve for @StLouisCruisers, Amy, Buddy’s children and family. May he rest in peace 🙏 @dfish I believe you are on your way today - safe travels and Bon Voyage! Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a good Thursday everyone !!!!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  7. Oh Sandi, I am so very sorry to hear this news. My prayers and deepest condolences for you and his family especially poor Amy and their children. Amy has a difficult road ahead and I pray she finds the strength and eventually, memories to sustain her 🙏
  8. Thanks Ruth. For some reason I thought HAL had stopped allowing this. Off to research now - much appreciated 👍
  9. Thanks for the Hump Day Daily, Rich. Nice collection of days - love barbershop music & I’ll try to embrace my geekness today (when it comes to technology problems, I find myself wanting to be more of a geek 😉). I am definitely not living in a Fool’s Paradise these days 😉 Love the quote and Gandhi is so right. @cat shepardI agree with the critics and other consumers - that is a very nice wine 👍 Very strange day yesterday - no rain but the winds were high - it felt like the beginning of one of our tropical storms but nothing happened? Hopefully I didn’t miscalculate & can greet the weeds today once I get my delivery of clothing done to Community Living.🤞 We’ll see what the weather does - can’t trust the weather man at all 😂 For the past few years I have been fighting lily beetles. (Blasted things) and despite my best efforts, I usually lose. I am happy to see one blooming. The smallest and plainest but it hasn’t been destroyed and it’s blooming. The others look relatively healthy so far as well fingers crossed. It’s a very strange year plant & weather wise. My calla lilies have just started to bloom - they are late. And yet my dahlias already have buds on them (they are early). Very strange. It must be a combination of the rain and heat on the non rain days??? Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Wednesday everyone !!!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  10. YAY on both you and the bags making it home 👍 Me too - crossing my fingers and toes for you Sounds like a good plan 👍 Glad it is fixed and your DH has a new gadget 😉 I am really relieved there is no blood clot but concerned about the pain you are still having. Something must be causing it? 😔 I wonder if something as basic physio would help? Well, I don’t know what happened to my multi quote - I lost some of them. @durangoscotsyour story is scary and brings me back to a few years ago when there was a huge crack in the street (we have no sidewalks) and my foot went. I was in serious pain and the dogs were as good as gold and like you, the leashes were still in my hand. I hobbled home but back then I had DH. Now I am very cautious (ok don’t ask me about the toe 😂) and I agree with the others - get something that will let you get an alert out. I am sorry you lost your glasses but relieved you are ok.
  11. Two lovely itineraries - both with great scenery - whether our CC friends have chosen Alaska or Norway, we are certain they are in for some great views 👍. We wish them a great time in their ports, sea views and on board their BHB’s. And, of course we hope they have fair winds and smooth seas. Bon Voyage to Westerdam - 7 day Alaskan Explorer: Cruise Suzy - hope your DD, DS & spouses enjoy their 1st cruise! Bon Voyage to Rotterdam - 14 day Best of Norway: dianew138 dfish - have fun with your sister & friend! Bon Voyage everyone !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!
  12. Thanks for our Tuesday Daily, Rich. Cows are definitely appreciated and paper bags are very handy and compostable 👍 I like the first part of today’s quote but not the hurting people you love. @dfishall those meals looks tasty 👍 Had my neighbour over yesterday for some wine and cheese. What a lovely afternoon we had, laughs, chat and wine. Great combination 😃 Needless to say, I didn’t get weeding done after she left. 😉 It’s looking like rain - so I guess that means it’s back to more clothes and sorting and hopefully getting some order in place. Ugh. But, it has to be done. @HAL Sailerso very sorry for the news on your DB’s covid. Prayers for him 🙏🏻 . @rafinmdmy condolences on the loss of your cousin 🙏🏻 Prayers for those on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great Tuesday everyone. Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  13. Thanks for the Monday Daily, Rich. I think the first day mentioned is the most worthy of celebrating - Cheer up the Lonely. Love today’s quote - so very true. The meal sounds good to me - yes, I like fennel 👍 Thanks everyone for listening to me yesterday and your feed back on the dog. Just got off the phone with Debbie & she’s a go for Shadow if she can get here. Females are more flexible she said and she’s happy to help. She’s booked there for all my cruises. She also said it would be a good thing to get routine back in my life and reminded me that pets are healing. For those not familiar with the Baladi dog: OMG - stupid me - the lavender topiary was on sale big time and I decided to give it a shot! Giving my head a shake. LOL. Well, the toe doesn’t like to work in the sun, so I better head out and tackle the gardens before it gets too hot for it. It can only do so much and the weeds are laughing at me. Have a good Monday everyone Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷
  14. hmm - guess we will agree to disagree - generally speaking you CANNOT use non-refundable (usually from HAL or CCL credit) in the casino. The loyalty credits are specifically marked that way on our statement with something like “not for cash or casino’. HAL has gotten much better at tracking it. I have used it for the crew incentive, HSC or gratuity - whatever you like to call it.
  15. What wonderful news!!! I will be talking to my dogs’ vacation home person - Debbie. I need to a) make sure she could take it next year and doesn’t mind this year (I hadn’t cancelled Marley yet - I cancelled Miko’s but everything happened so fast and I was so sad, I couldn’t pick up the phone) b) she is willing. She’s used to rescues and knows how to take care of them. She won frightened Fox over in 24 hours. I think she would be ok assuming she gets here at the beginning of August. Of course, I have no idea what the plane trip will do to her 😞 I did fully disclose I was going away to the rescue organization. It doesn’t seem to be a concern to them so far but I have yet to hear from Anna in Egypt who has her. That will be key. Debbie if willing is excellent with frightened rescue dogs. Her heart goes out to them and she knows what to do and how. Assuming she is willing. Thanks Katharine. I too was in finance and it’s sound advice. I guess my friends feel a dog is a life changing decision whereas I do not as I have not been without a pet for nearly 5 decades! But, I do have some thinking to do.
  16. Thanks. They say widows should wait a year to make a major decision like selling a house, etc. I do lose focus at times still so I am a bit concerned about that but the dog is not scheduled to be shipped until August 1st. meanwhile I have already made a $4K decision on maintenance. DH and I both wanted it done so I don’t think it’s a major decision 😉
  17. Thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich. Nice collection of days - who doesn’t like kittens or teddy bears or picnics? Pina coladas can be very refreshing on a hot day. I like the quote by Eliot. Intrigued by today’s meal suggestion. All bad things happen in 3’s, right? Here’s the very long story: When I was doing the 2nd batch of jam a few days ago, I felt like Jose was here watching me and smiling. It was an eerie, nice feeling. Well, I think he came back on Friday angrily. He was “saving” stuff and I am working on getting rid of it. I was ergonomically moving a speaker upstairs from the basement which had seen better days and had a dolly at the top to put it on. Put the bag on it first (stupid) and turned it over and plopped it on the dolly and it bounced and hit my toe cut the nail and needless to say a bandage was called for. I think Jose was mad at me for getting rid of it. In the morning I re-dressed it and Jose had trained me well enough on that and to think on my tetanus shot and I realized it was over 10 years so off I went to be safe. I attempted to hobble in the garden a bit yesterday but rested it quite a bit. That same night, I confided to a few that I had been approached to rescue & foster a very special Baladi dog. Canada is closing it’s border to over 100 countries’ dogs (including Egypt) on September 1st so time is of the essence to get her out of the country. She needs work for her fear and trust so won’t appeal to everyone. I’ve done that before with Fox and other rescues so my heart went out (pretty sure @durangoscotsgets that) and focusing on helping someone else is better than focusing on me, I thought. My friends told me I was crazy - too soon. No changes for a year. Now I am second guessing myself. With a very sore toe, I decided to treat myself to a pizza (following in @ger_77‘s footsteps). Burned to a crisp. Sheesh. After that, something good had to happen right? Well, it did. I received an absolutely beautiful scarf from Laura@Horizon chaser 1957with the sweetest, kindest note. She sent it as a token of love from the Daily family - but it is her work and her thoughtfulness. ♥️ I have no idea how she got my address - but she did. I love it and colours I can wear. I do believe it might be travelling with me 🙂 Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Shout Out / Celebratory list. Have a great Sunday everyone !!!!! Stay safe & please don’t forget your 😷 when / where needed.
  18. Ok tomorrow I will expand. There’s no figuring out Canada Post 😉 😳 it’s exquisite and a colour I can wear. I was truly touched and moved and maybe cried a smidge at the kindness. Thank you ♥️
  19. You are right on the pharmacies. We have a number in our little two towns and only one had it in stock. thankfully I was on file from who knows how many decades ago and the were ready for me. It’s a good thing I let my “fingers do the talking” (phone) rather than go to each one. LOL.
  20. I hope that is the way it is - I’m sitting with a group and they don’t have Club Orange.
  21. I think mine was only tetanus, Ann. Appears to be what the record says. I’m not Jose though - he would know in a nano second by the drug if it was a mix or just tetanus. I know when you receive your 1st tetanus it has the DPT as it’s needed. I’ll look at it more closely later. I wasn’t going to the hospital unless I had to for several reasons besides the wait and the cesspool there 😉 - Too many trips there for 6 months and I don’t need / want to go back for some time.
  22. Thanks for our Saturday Daily, Rich. A quick post as last night and today have been nothing but a mess 😠 On the agenda this morning was finding a pharmacy that had tetanus shots asap so I could avoid the hospital. Done, thankfully. I am starting to think that quote suits me with what some are saying about a decision I thought I had made. 😢. Maybe I’ll tell both stories tomorrow. Laura @Horizon chaser 1957(as I don’t have your email - forgive me for posting here) - I received your very thoughtful package today and want to thank you so very much. I’m not sure if you would want me to say more or not but it is lovely and so appreciated. ♥️ @rafinmdRoy - welcome home. Glad you finally made it. @jimgevgreat report on your cruise. I am so glad you finally made it home with luggage intact. @bennybearprayers for your DH continue 🙏 Prayers for everyone on the Care list, Buddy & Ukraine & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great day everyone!
  23. She is indeed. I’ve sailed with her a few times. She sent me condolences and told me that she, Tony and Martha had lit candles for Jose back when they did it. So sweet. I am blessed to have sailed with a number of CC friends who truly care ♥️
  24. Awww. The candles were enough to touch my heart ♥️ Thank you for this pic of Jose ♥️
