  1. To be honest, we have done 6 cruises out of Canaveral since cruising resumed and I have never seen any one paying attention to checkin times. I know you have more experience with this but no one ever checked the time. There were no lines, it looked like everyone was just walking on. And sometimes we were right on time, a few times were early. Being early was never intentional, we were trying to get as close to time assigned as possible. Sherri🙂
  2. Continue to enjoy the cruise! We just left Portland and are heading up to Quebec (maybe!). Next two days are sea days so I think we will get there Tuesday. We are on Summit, is that M class? If so, I like it a lot! Cynthia, your cruise in the Mediterranean should be amazing! Sharon, the mini balloon festival sounds like fun, except for the getting up at dawn part! So, I tried to do my version of minimal packing and I have discovered that I did not bring enough clothes!😂 Should have brought a few more tops, another dress, and maybe another swimsuit. We have spent a lot of time in the solarium pool! Sherri🙂
  3. It’s not always that the rules don’t apply, sometimes it is due to the plan not working out as expected🙄 Like in June when I was put on the wrong shuttle bus and got to port 45 min earlier than my time. Figured I would have to wait but just walked right on. Sherri🙂
  4. The X site being down for the day did not seem to have any affect on the app. Sherri🙂
  5. My phone was quicker than the people shuffling through their various papers.😂 Sherti🙂
  6. Currently on Summit. Our checkin experience at the pier was very quick and easy, has definitely changed though, from our experience on Apex in February. No one looked at our vax cards, we were just asked if we had been vaccinated. Because we are going to Canada, we were still required to test, but the agent barely looked at our test results. No one checked for a checkin time. We did have to answer the 3 questions that the health check has been reduced to. Agent checked our passports and we were done. Sherri🙂
  7. For us, the answer is no. We have done Aqua class twice, on Infinity and Apex. Everyone raves about Blu but we were not impressed with the food, but I will say service was amazing. Spa stuff is not something I enjoy so did not spend much time there. The shower with different settings in our bathroom was nice. Sherri🙂
  8. We sailed on Apex last February in an IV. Based on comments I had read on various threads regarding IVs, I fully expected to not like it but I really did like it. It just made the cabin seem so much larger and gave an open feel to it. I would book one again. Sherri🙂
  9. We are having a great cruise but our itinerary has been changed quite a bit. To start with, everything was reversed so we went to Portland today instead of last port day, we are over nighting and leaving tomorrow at 130.Halifax andSt John have been completely dropped from itinerary but so far, seas have been calm. All is good. Sherri🙂
  10. Thanks! Congratulations on # 2 grandchild! Grandchildren are so much more fun than children! We embarked on our cruise today, everything went well. Had a great time in Boston yesterday, we did the Freedom trail and ended up walking almost 8 miles. Discovered this morning that Halifax has been dropped from our itinerary, it seems Fiona is paying them a visit on Saturday so we will not be able too. It had never occurred to me that a hurricane would be a problem for us in Canada!😂😂 Sherti🙂
  11. No belt, no underwire on bra. No metal anywhere. My favorite experience in being searched, aside from my whole body one😉, was when the agent said she needed to search my left ankle. At the time, I was barefoot, no socks, and wearing capris so entire leg and foot were visible from knee down. Agent laughed when she looked down at my feet but proceeded with the pat down.😂 Sherri🙂
  12. At the airport just waiting to board. For some reason, about 95% of the time, I have to have some type of body search after going through the scanner. Today’s search was full abdomen, up to bra and down to undies. At least it was on top of clothing, I had to have a full body search at Dulles once and she went under.😳😂 Hope you all have a great week! Sherri🙂
  13. Hi Lois, just wanted to tell you ArriveCan was very easy to do. I set up our account last week and up loaded our passports and vaccine cards. The rest of it has to be completed no more than 3 days before embarkation, I was able to complete it tonight. It did not take longer than 10 min, if that. All packed and ready to leave in the morning! Sherri🙂
  14. Well, nothing happened this week, I guess they won’t do anything else until the counter tops are ready to be installed. They did come put a lockbox on the front door so we could leave a key for them.😂. Designer has promised me it will be done before Thanksgiving🙄. It’s been rainy here this week, too, Lois. I read some parts of Brevard County had over 8 inches of rain in a very short time a few days ago. Caused some flooding on Merritt Island. We have had very little rain all summer but now, too much! Cynthia, glad you found your pants!😂. Have a great cruise x 3 weeks! Sherri🙂
  15. We are flying to Boston on Monday for a Celebrity cruise up to Quebec and back. Our ship does not leave until Wednesday so we will spend some time sight seeing in Boston. I am not a minimalist packer but I have cut back over the years in what I take. My packing list: 2pair of capris, one black, one beige. 2 pairs of pants, one khakis colored and one black. 1 pair of jeans 2 pullover sweaters 6long sleeved t shirts 6 short sleeve t shirts 5 dressier tops 2 lightweight knit dresses 1cocktail dress(maybe) 2 swimsuits 1 coverup workout clothes for gym 4 bras, 2 are sports bras for workouts 10 pairs of undies 3 pairs of socks for gym 4 pairs of socks for walking in port 1 lightweight raincoat that folds up into a pouch. This has worked well in Alaska and all over Europe. 1 Burton hoodie 1 light weight hoodie 2 pairs of sparkly heels. My husband and I do ballroom dancing so these work well. 1pair of flip flops for pool area 3 pairs of sparkly sandals for evenings if we are not dancing 1 pair of Sketchers for walking on cooler days Toiletries, flat iron, meds, etc. Traveling to Boston I will wear some khakis capris, a brown long sleeved tunic style top and some sandals for walking. I have a medium size travel purse that can hold an amazing amount of stuff so I pad, jewelry, etc will go in that, otherwise I am packing in one large suitcase that will be checked and a small carryon. Should be a fun cruise! Sherri🙂
  16. Your dress looks lovely on you, Melody, and red is a good color for you. Sherri🙂
  17. Have you been on any of the Edge class ships? We cruised on Apex in February and that was the most gorgeous ship I’ve ever been on! Sherri🙂
  18. Actually, we live on the beach, my husband said it is like being on a cruise only without the movement😂. While I agree cruising is not the experience it used to be, I still like cruising! And I’ve discovered we really like Celebrity, too and we are giving river cruising in Europe a try in October, good to mix things up! Sherri🙂
  19. Food is not that important to me to stop cruising, I love being out in the ocean and really missed it during the shutdown. Our next cruises are on Celebrity and Viking, we are not sailing on Royal until a B2B on Jewel in December, maybe there will be some improvement?😂😂 Sherri🙂
  20. We resumed cruising in August, 2021 and have done 12 cruises since. IMO, there has been a noticeable decline in food quality during this time. As the passenger numbers increased, food declined. 3 of our cruises were on Allure, one in September, one in April and one a month later. Big difference in the food from September to May! One of my favorite dished is the beef short ribs, it was just a big glob of fat in May. Our waiter brought me another one that was only slightly better. Service was great although I felt sorry for dining room staff as they seemed to be running around like crazy. Very chaotic. Sherri🙂
  21. Each shot should be less than $200, would probably be a little higher if you were to get it at your doctor’s office. I have not had it yet, I’ve been too busy getting covid boosters!😂. When the shingles vaccine first came out, it was only about 40-45% effective so I chose not to. The new shingrex 2 dose is better, about 65-70%, so when I can work it in around my other vaccines, I plan to do it. My husband had his years ago and had no problems. Sherri🙂
  22. I still love Fleetwood Mac, remember seeing them in concert many times! Sherri🙂
  23. Yup, I am planning on setting up our account this weekend, then I can put the last info in while we are in Boston. Rumor has it that Canada is waiting until after the 2022 cruise season ends to lift their requirements😂 Sherri🙂
  24. Congrats to your son! Iron Man competitions are very rigorous and I am always amazed by the people who finish one. Sherri🙂
