  1. Happy birthday, Melody! Looks like you had a great celebration with family. And good to know Les is doing better. Sherri🙂
  2. Condolences on the passing of your dog Christy, it’s always hard to lose a longtime pet. Sherri😔
  3. We had this event on our Odyssey TA last October. It was very nice but extremely crowded and noisy. Waiters were passing around with trays of drinks, wine, sparkling wine, rum punch, and margaritas were some of the drinks I saw. Plus different finger foods. It reminded me of what top tier parties used to be years ago.😂 But, even though we enjoyed it, I do agree with the OP as it does not seem fair to close down a popular area during sail away, especially on the first day. On our cruise, they actually closed the solarium at 2pm to start setting up, you were allowed to walk through but staff chased away anyone who tried to sit down. The event was from 4 to 6, long time to have it closed. Sherri🙂
  4. Wow, Melody, sounds like Les (and you!) have had a really rough time. I hope he is on the road to recovery soon! We are still in SC with the grandkids but driving back to Satellite Beach on Wednesday. It will be nice to get back to some warmer weather. SC has had some big storms and cold temps, but we have enjoyed being with the grands! Sherri🙂
  5. We sailed on Mariner in August. No tickets need. Sherri🙂
  6. We found it did not notify whether it was a cabin mate or non cabin mate. We used it quite a bit on Independence in July with family spread out over 5 cabins but no one received any notice. Sherri🙂
  7. Yes, you can use the app to message each other. The only problem we have had with it is you have to check it frequently as it does not notify you when you get a new message. Sherri🙂
  8. The first thing I do after boarding is connect to app through ship’s WiFi as a guest and make my show reservations then. I’ve always been able to get reservations for the comedy club. Sherri🙂
  9. We received this on our Oasis cruise out of Miami last month. It was kind of exciting, when I finished answering the health questions, balloons floated across the page along with confetti and the page said congratulations, you have been selected for express boarding. Instructions were to follow the signs. There was no one in front of us at the express boarding sign, we were quickly scanned and directed to security which also had no line. We went upstairs and were seated, I was expecting that was it as far as express but we boarded after pinnacle, suites and key. We were on the ship at 1040. I was told they are testing this at the new terminal in Miami in preparation for Icon. Sherri🙂
  10. We stayed on deck 6 with an obstructed balcony on the recent TA. We chose this cabin as it was a crazy low price, $1600.00 total for the two of us for a 15 night TA. We could see over the lifeboat, we were ok with that as we really don’t use a balcony much and are hardly ever in our cabin. Odyssey is a great ship, we loved it! Sherri🙂
  11. We’ve done 20 cruises since 8/2021 from Canaveral, Miami, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston and Civitavecchia. Only once, in Tampa, has anyone checked our time. Sherri🙂
  12. I agree with you and I always get the feeling most of the waiters would prefer to skip it. Sherri🙂
  13. I’ve always wondered why the WJ can bake a real turkey and even the Solarium Bistro on Oasis class has had an excellent turkey, although it was being carved at breakfast😳 but the MDR can’t seem to do it! I guess it could be blamed on serving a large number of people? Sherri🙂
  14. I hope work goes well for you, Kat! And that vacation fund gets bigger😉 Soup sounds deliciou, Melody! Funny, Lois, when you were graduating from high school in 1976, I was graduating from IU School of Nursing. And six weeks later, our first son was born. Very hard for me to believe in 2026 I will have a son who is 50! Sherri🙂
  15. Lovely picture and granddaughter, Melody! Nice to see you getting back to normal, Lois! Have another great cruise, Cynthia! Christy, is there a “hell week” #4? Our hospital tried each year to limit scheduled procedures over Christmas Eve and day but that did not go over well with the doctors. I remember one doctor said if he had to work those days then he could schedule as much as he wanted to. And did! Melissa, glad the Covid was mild! Kat, do you work over the holiday or do you, hopefully, have some time off? We are currently in South Carolina with our youngest son’s family, and will go up to Virginia on Christmas. Then will come back to SC to stay with grandkids while our daughter in law goes to Hawaii for a week. Our son is going over there to work for three weeks so she will be there for a week with him. We will not get back to Florida until the 17th! In case I get busy with grands, I want to wish everyone now a very Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year filled with lots of travel and good health! 2024 used to seem so far away but here we are😂. Sherri🎄
  16. Glad everything has gone well for you Lois! Too bad another stone is developing, I hope you can get it taken care of before it can cause any problems. Wow, Melissa, the whole family? I hope you all have mild cases and recover quickly! Don’t you just love health care games, Christy?😂. The unit I worked in for 27 years is going through a difficult time. Upper management reduced the size of the pediatric unit causing several of their experienced nurses to leave so now they have mandated cross training for the post partum staff. As a result, several friends have decided to retire and others are leaving for jobs elsewhere. So of course, they been swamped with new babies, they are short of help, and management is having to pay bonus to bribe staff to come in extra. Fun times! Sherri🙂
  17. On our Oasis 12/03 cruise, only D+ and Pinnacle were invited to the top tier which I did not think was fair. Lots of empty seats. Sherri🙂
  18. That is what we had fit our top tier party, just an aerialist for a few miniutes. This was on 12/03 Oasis. Sherri🙂
  19. Our free bags have always come back looking as though everything has been neatly ironed, not just folded, even my husband’s boxers. It’s always impressed my husband as I have not ironed anything for at least 30 years😂 Sherri🙂
  20. No jazz club but there was jazz concerts in Central Park several nights. And in the promenade. Sherri🙂
  21. It was offered 2x on our cruise 12/3. Sherri🙂
  22. On our last two cruises, Odyssey TA in October and Oasis last week, Diamonds were not invited to the top tier. I thought maybe it was due to large number of D+ and pinnacles on the TA as it was a packed audience in the theater but the Aqua theater on Oasis had lots of empty seats. And they were checking cards as we entered. Sherri🙂
  23. Thanks for the info Melissa, you’ve given me some good ideas. We were in New Zealand on a cruise, I think maybe 2014, and had a great time. Beautiful country! Auckland will be a first for us. Sherri🙂
