  1. @Cruzin Terri are you still planning to do your Christmas Cruise? Also, don't forget to change the email link in your signature. Roy
  2. I've had problems on many platforms. One thing that seems to work several times is logging into www.cruisecritic.com That works. From there I have selected "boards" from the top of the screen which brings up the boards but not yet logged in. From there when I select "Login" it seems to recognize my credentials from the parent website. Roy

  4. Well, I survived the CC login issue for quite a while but now it is hitting, first at the fire house and now with both my other laptop and my IPAd. I don't dare log out. Roy
  5. I visited Safaga on the Silver Whisper many years ago and among their many failures Silversea got me the tour information too late to book it. I did get curious and a couple years later got to the Valley of the Kings on a river cruise, and that is the way I would recommend to see it, although that was before Arab Spring and between that and my older age now I doubt I would do it again. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is from a 2010 Med itinerary. I disembarked Crystal Serenity October 31 and walked about 500 feet to the Wind Surf for a cruise to Barcelona. On November 2 we visited Porto Vecchio, Corsica. Roy

  8. Thank you for the Hump Day report, Rich. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on death in today's days, makes it seem a bit like a dark day for me. Makes the Swift quote a little more poignant. I have never been to Ishigaki Island. I think I'll pass on the meal. 9. Thank you @crystalspin and all you well wishers. I leave Friday on the Auto Train for some time in Florida, and am greatly looking forward to my first Signature ship and becoming a 5-star Mariner. Roy
  10. We had rain last night and turnout for Halloween was extremely light, leaving me with more than half my candy. My story will be about my strangest Halloween ever, exactly 10 years ago. I had booked a Crystal Symphony Panama Canal cruise New York to Los Angeles, leaving New York October 31, 2012. With the prospect of Superstorm Sandy moving through I made the fateful decision to head to New York an extra day earlier so I would not be traveling during the storm. Well, Sandy came through October 30 with devastating results, including completely flooding out the port of New York. Symphony, which had been docked in Boston would completely skip New York and head straight to Charleston, and there was no provision for people waiting in New York and almost all transportation shut down. Embarkation day, October 31 came with me stranded in New York. My travel agent came up with an interesting plan. While the airports were closed, she fond that the rental car office at LaGuardia was open and she reserved me a one-way rental to Baltimore and a November 1 flight to Charleston. I would spend Haloween at home completely unprepared. At the time Crystal has stopped giving traditional pillow chocolates and instead provided little boxes of Chocolini's, little bits of something covered with a bit of chocolate. I think they were either cereal or dried fruit but the consensus was they tasted more like chocolate covered kitty litter. I arrived home in early evening and did have a few small items like Hershey Kisses and mints, but the last few got --Chocolini's. I left for the cruise praying there would not be a child abuse warrant waiting for me when I got home. Roy
  11. I have not exactly a sunrise today from the 2014 QM2 crossing on a stormy day. On All Saints Day this is the first appearance of the sun: Roy

  14. Thank you for the All Saints Fleet Report and Daily, Rich. I don't have any pets to cook for and salute all forms of Literacy which would be nowhere without the Authors. I like the quote and have been to Lerwick just once on the Elegant Explorer. The meal sounds nice. My alternative is a custom lido omelet (mine is ham) my final dish on MS Amsterdam November 1, 2017. That day I flew to Rome to board the Prinsendam November 2. I don't have a photo from HAL but this is from Adventure of the Seas. 15. She apparently hasn't had time to post but fellow Albertan @Dunmore2 had posted that she and @ger_77 are in Calgary ready to board a flight. Roy
  16. I think it might be better to post it to her live thread. Roy
  17. I wonder if it was really from the company or if their email was hacked. I would certainly not click on any links in that email. Roy
  18. Wow! That Oosterdam transatlantic is really snake bit. First the disembarkation change and then last minute disappointments for both @kazu and @ger_77. Sure hope that that's the last of the calamities and things can be salvaged as much as possible. Roy
  19. Today's sunrise is from my 2014 QM2 crossing on the way to Europe to return on the Wind Star. I was reminded in reviewing my 10/31/14 blog entry is that at this time one of the perks of an Eastbound crossing is that we start out on Daylight savings and arrive on Standard time so we only lose 4 hours instead of the usual 5. Roy

  22. Wishing a satisfactory solution for DH Dental issues and a great cruise. BTW, we have early voting so I voted in person Thursday. Roy
