  1. Most of the way through the canal: Roy
  2. Yes, both. It will be more of an inconvenience for Royal passengers on a couple of accounts. Carnival had the first Norfolk turnaround Sunday and will continue to to so for the duration of the emergency. Royal arrives in Norflok tomorrow morning. It will be more of a challenge for their passengers because they usually arrive in Baltimore about dawn and leave by 4. Carnival I think arrives about 10 and departs later in the day, leaving more time for people to get to/from the ship. While both provide(d) free transfers back to Baltimore for the initial reroute, it boggles my mind that Royal is not continuing to offer transfer service for subsequent cruises. They are allowing free cancellation and also a $200 travel allowance. It seems to me that even if they don't provide complimentary transfers they could do it for $100 each way and have fewer cancellations. Roy
  3. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. April 3 was another sea day on Crystal Symphony from Easter Island to Robinson Crusoe Island: Roy

  5. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Bon Voyage @SusieKIslandGirl. I'll pass on the fan dance, would love to see a rainbow but don't think we'll see any trace of the sun today. A cheer for film scores. Our Baltimore Symphony frequently shows movies with the music cut out and replaced by the Orchestra live. While cell phones are essentially I often feel like they are a curse. I have not been to Quepos. The meal actually sounds very nice. My alternative is Tropical Fruit Medley, Broiled New York Striploin, and Baked Alaska as served on MS Amsterdam April 2, 2014. I hope there were green beans on the plate as well. Just got word that I need to substitute on my church AV team Sunday, my echocardiogram Friday permitting. Roy
  6. I just heard Taiwan had a major earthquake. Prayers for @USN59-79 and family. Roy
  7. @aliaschief's post brought back some memories. I think you all (or at least most all) know that I sail several cruise lines and I like to see cross pollination. What does bug me is people that stop on a cruise line and then start continually bashing it on that forum without ever posting on the forum of their new favorite. The memory that brought back was from 2018 when I sailed Crystal's world cruise and started a dedicated thread here: Kind of odd that this is the only thread I have is from that cruise as the majority of Crystal content was deleted from Cruise Critic when the original Crystal went bankrupt and the line was relaunched under new management. 10. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I have a feeling Jacqui had to do some quick searching this morning as I looked at Rich’s database first thing this morning and it started with “Today is , , and” I went back to kitchen work probably while Jacqui was working on the days and didn’t get back to the daily for some time, so the maps came pretty late. I think something is missing on the Zaandam. She is not wandering aimlessly at sea until April 13. This is what I think the itinerary is per cruisetimetables: April 2: Manzanillo 10:00-18:00 April 3: Ixtapa 0700-1300 April 4: Huatulco 1100-1800 April 6: Puerto Vallarta 1200-2400 April 7: Puerto Vallarta 0000-1500 April 8: Mazatlan 1400-1800 April 9: Loreto 1400-2300 April 10: LaPaz 0800-1700 April 11: Cabo San Lucas 0700-1400 April 13: San Diego I’ll pass on the ferrets and PBJ but salute our produce managers. I like the quote. But have not been to Townsville. I prefer my french toast without the casserole. My alternative is Fresh Fruit with Peach Schnappes, Chilled Anjou Pear Soup, Linguini Carbanara, and Apple Sundae as served on MS Zaandam April 2, 2017: A bit of good news on the bridge. A temporary channel is now open although only 10 feet deep (instead of 50 for the big ships). It’s mostly for to get rescue equipment to the other side of the wreckage but I expect there may be some occasional barge traffic that can use it as well. A very nasty rain this morning that may continue for most of the day. Roy
  11. Symphony is back on AIS in the middle of the Red Sea. I hope this means past the prime danger zone. Roy
  12. Hugs to @ottahand7 on this sad day. @ger_77 I think both you and Maruice are candidates for sainthood with the kindness you have shown to Ollie on Gord's passing. I expect with Maurice's medical problems stepping up to keep Easter plans going as you tended to your friend. I expect the rest of the family chipped in as well but hugs to all of you. Roy

  15. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Tom Foolery and April Fools seem to go hand in hand. Marilyn Monroe sounds kind of bitter. I visited Tokyo as an overnight stopover in 2001 and on Crystal Harmony in 2004. A very momentous day in computer history. I had an Apple 2 and a few IPADs since. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Iced Melon Bisque, Apple, Pear, and Cucumber Salad, Rustic Home-Made Lasagna, and Vanilla Ice Cream, my first ever dinner on MS Amsterdam April 1, 2014. A very wet day in central Maryland which will not be good for my plans but even worse for those trying to clear the Key Bridge. Roy
  16. Love how well you are adapting to a new style of cruising. Cherish that Pole to Pole. Roy
  17. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit. The April Fools maps (no fooling): Roy
  18. A wealth of toots today, well done Nieuw Statendam. Thanks Captain, Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. @erewhon I hope your Easter was wonderful. Roy
  19. Just as things were getting good I got buffering and had to reload. Roy
