And for West Coast of Mexico, there was just a 7.6 earthquake south of Puerto Vallarta and felt in Mexico City. Wonder if that will affect the cruises. Tsunami warnings for the area too Labonnevie, we aren't planning to go ashore in Mexico this cruise in any of those ports.

LA; Where do I board? Where do I park?
ChatKat in Ca. replied to DDDDale's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We've done the Regent transfers from the ship and they were well done. The luggage goes with the bus as when you disembark they are tagged to your departure. Have used a car service over a uber. More reliable. -
Just Back from the Mariner/Alaska
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Jamietravelstheworld's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Actually, I met a couple who would go to the spa to shower on the early sailings before the retrofit. They'd go for a steambath and then shower in the spa. -

For the tub, you do the hokey pokey. Put your left foot in put your left foot out....you put your right foot in and you shake it all about. -
Time to arrive at PortMiami to miss transfer bus
ChatKat in Ca. replied to -Lew-'s topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
I have done that in other ports multiple times and then let the Regent rep know we won't be on the bus but our luggage will go with them. It's not been a problem because they're tagged. -
I used to have 2 phones just for when we traveled so I could be on an international plan. But the Verizon Travel Pass is great and I gave up the TMobile phone. Only use it when you need to talk in the country you are visiting. In most cases, WiFi will take care of your data (unless you are working and need to be on all day).

Yes, but, Regent is also stopping there as well as Mazatlan, Mazanillo, Cabo and Puerta Vallarta. All of them are on watch

There has been violence in Baja and Mexico and some cruise lines have canceled ports. The October cruises on Mariner are mostly Baja and West Coast of Mexico. Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan are all under warnings to travel. Big article in the Los Angeles Times yesterday

Transatlantic Sea Day Activities
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Mystictraveler's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Regent brings ACBL instructors onboard to teach. I learned to play on an Atlantic Crossing. There are also charter type sailings arranged by a travel group with well known to the bridge community instructors. They do not allow anyone who are not in the chartered group to play. -

Yes, that's true. But when you book and have made final payment your choice to cancel is very expensive when they change the rules. -
Regent dropping Covid vaccination requirements
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Screasy's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We made final payment and we are not flying to our sailing. We won't cancel but we will limit our onboard socializing just because even people who board and get covid won't isolate and report for quarantine. There is where the no testing is going to hurt and possibly backfire. Since you had to show proof of vaccination to board and be tested under the old rule, most of the passengers on our sailing will have lesser cases if they do get sick. A friend of mine was just on an Alaskan sailing on one of the mass lines. Her friend told her to self test because if she got sick, they'd remove her from the ship if she tested positive via the medical center. We live in a world that cares not for others, apparently. -

Regent dropping Covid vaccination requirements
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Screasy's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Sorry to tell you my Step Daughter Died of Covid earlier in the year. Not everyone gets it mild. She was 4 months in the ICU. I won't be booking future Regent Cruises under the new policy. A friend of mine just was very ill in the hospital - no immune compromised conditions and fully vaxxed. This is not like a cold/flu but you can have your own opinion -
Regent dropping Covid vaccination requirements
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Screasy's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Or what about the vaccinated pax who don't want to board with a ship of unknown safety? We were already hesitant to book with all pax vaxxed. Now we probably won't book another with these new protocols. -
Go to your booked cruises and you can see the excursions there.

Why Does RSSC Use The Word Free?
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Yankeeclipper1's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Yes I this they are thinking we're not that savvy. It's annoying to me too. It's not free. We paid for it included in the fare. -

Back to Back 2nd Embarkation Question
ChatKat in Ca. replied to dvalentine823's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We;ve done cabin changeover on b2b. I packed up my toiletries and dainties. They cleaned the new cabin right away and they took my hanging things from the closet over right on the hangers. -

Today's high in The Desert is expected to be 115. We don't expect the high to dip below 100 until mid to late fall....

Regent Voyager included "Fine Wines"

If you bring your own wine to the dining room is there a corkage fee now? I may have to bring a case of wine to the port. -
Need Advice - Navigator Suite 600?
ChatKat in Ca. replied to Kruzngrl's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We sailed in that suite. Other than the anchor dropping early morning, we loved it. I don't recall if we were on a cruise in the Caribbean, NY to Bermuda or New England to Canada... We'd take that cabin again.
