Since we live in Florida I always like entering all Florida ports when I search for cruises, just in case a really good deal might pop up. Bummed to see PE missing from the choices.
-
I'm sorry to hear that, we preferred sailing from Port Everglades over Miami.

I just noticed Port Everglades is not available on the Carnival website while searching for cruises, does anyone know why?

Glad to hear the Magic will be one of the first! Hopefully we'll be on her for our b2b in November/December this year

Agree. It is significant in the fact that if that scenario plays out that it could limit the liability, Carnival could say well you booked after this warning was posted. When the actual conditions and restrictions come out before cruising resumes there will be some that would probably want to cancel or postpone their scheduled cruises. This could be in Carnival's favor if they're overbooked. They have been pretty flexible so far; however, they could take a harder line in the future. Especially if cruises are interrupted and more refunds and rebookings are at stake.
Was this in the original CSO?

If most of the changes we've suggested were to become normal operating procedures, increased manpower needs would surely result in more expensive cruises.

I hate waiting till the last minute to see if our cruise is going to sail in November. Do I bail now or wait??? This sure does suck.
I'm holding ours with $50 deposits so I'm hoping I'll have more info to go on by final pay by date.

We are both vaccinated so if our cruise is allowed to sail at the end of November then we will probably be on it.

We have every intention of going on our Panorama cruise in December. DH is still working, so this sort of game changer mid-cruise could give him pause. The last place he'd want to get stuck in is Mazatlan. Me? I'd say let's book a hotel room and make the best of it!
It reads to me that the cruise would end and it returns to the port it embarked from.

We have wanted to take some short trips here in Florida but the hotel rates have sky rocketed due to everyone else in the country wanting to come here since their own states are locked down.

Cruise staff serving at the buffet, this should become permanent.

OP you have the right to be annoyed.

I also wonder what kind of refund you would get on a shortened cruise, especially a b2b that returned home early on the first leg.

Saw this in an email offer I just received from Carnival. I wonder what the threshold may be.
If a threshold of COVID-19 is detected on board the ship, the voyage will be ended, the ship will return to the port of embarkation, and your subsequent travel home may be restricted or delayed. Health and safety protocols, guest conduct rules, and regional travel restrictions vary by ship and destination, and are subject to change without notice.

Nothing a simple "No thanks" won't solve.

I'm hoping this will be sorted out by our B2B Nov 28th this year, and I'll have been vaccinated by then. Wife has had the first of two, but I'm only 63, who knows when I'll be on the list.

I received the cabin confirmations for both cruises with the $50 obc. Thanks for everyone's help!

This is correct. However if you booked with a reduced deposit and the new rate doesn't include the same, you will need to pay the difference.
It wouldn't make a difference in the total amount of your cruise.
I do have $50 deposits and the new rate does also. Thanks

The $50 is part of the total cruisefare and has to be included in your calculation.
My price is 758 cruisefare for instance, solo, plus a $50 obc, so I'd subtract the $50 making my actual cruisefare 708. So the price I'd have to match is 708 not 758, it dropped to 738, I could match it but I'd lose the $50 obc. Net loss of $30, so not worth it to me.
If I'm reading you right. Let's say your price was 758 cruisefare, but new sale is 758 plus $50 obc, you could get the $50 obc.
Thanks, your 2nd example fits my situation so I'll complete the price drop form!
-
If a sale includes a $50 obc but is the same price as my booked early saver rate will I be denied the obc since my price didn't drop?
-
No further drops today for me, but I'm thankful for what I got as I usually never receive any.
I was surprised how fast they were approved on a holiday, had confirmation emails and cabin confirmations in minutes after I requested them.
-
I received price drops today on 3 cruises booked on early saver rates using today's sale, I'm hoping there may be even better prices tomorrow.

I guess another worry is whether this cruise will actually stop at the ports on the itinerary we booked it for. We have never visited Bonaire and it was the main reason we booked this cruise. The islands themselves will determine when they will be open to cruise ships and it may alter the itinerary.
