Glad to hear this! This is our closest port.
-
Thanks. Now I wonder if there will be any point in getting off the ship if most of the island is still in restoration mode.
Could be a good day to just chill on the ship since there aren't any Carnival excursions that appeal to us.

Received word from Resort For A Day that the Viva Wyndham in Freeport is not expected to reopen until December 17th due to damage from Hurricane Matthew.
Our excursion on December 5th has been cancelled so I'm now wondering whether we'll be stopping in Freeport at all.

Has anyone been to Mr. Busby's at Dawn Beach lately? Last posts on a search were from 2014.
-
Thanks for the review! We will be on her in April and will be trying that room type for the first time.
-
Here is a question I have not seen and our PVP was not sure of. Since we are in the same cabin, do we use the same sail & sign card / room key or is a new one issued. I'm betting a new one will be provided since it is a seperate booking.
Thanks! :)
Dave
You will get new cards.

Unless the water is name brand spring water, the water you are buying is the same water you were drinking out of the hose during a hot summer day after
Mowing the lawn.
The water we purchased from Bon Voyage and was delivered to our cabin on May 9 and May 16 listed the source as Ginnie Springs, FL.

I just noticed that our interior room can accommodate up to 4, have never been in one with more than 2. Is it common to get bumped and moved to another cabin last minute so Carnival can book 4 guests?
Thanks
-
But how do you do that. I cant find where you have the option pay the bill with points only certain purchases.
I believe only previous Carnival purchases are eligible, and even those have to be used within a certain number of days.
-
If past final payment wouldn't the rate still be the same since you have OBC and not a real reduction in money you put out?
They did adjust our rate lower based on the price drop during the sale.
-
Yes it did for us! They do adjust the Insurance:D rate!
Thanks!
-
Since the vacation protection fee is tiered based on cruise rate, will it also be reduced if your early saver fare drops enough?
-
Choose N Cruise - 3 options. All let you pick your own room. And one includes something called "ultimate value" and includes an OBC up to $50.This for cruise dates through the end of January. Ends Thursday.
Let the Sun Shine In - for bookings through April 15. Ends November 30.
I didn't look at prices or anything as neither of these pertain to my dates (ughh). But I'm posting for others it may pertain to who may not obsess looking on the Carnival website morning, noon, and night like I do!:p
Good luck!
Thanks for the heads up! I submitted the price protection form and received approval in about 5 mins with $120 in obc. Early saver still working with about 5 weeks till our cruise!

LOL, mental image cheers enforcement with a taser. Might sign up for that one myself.;)
lol :D

I sail next Sunday and had my budget all set with a 37.50 price. Back to the drawing board.
Same here, we don't drink enough to justify the price increase over an 8 day cruise.
-
These I'll show you Carnival post, and there are quite a few of them, crack me up. We wouldn't even be discussing this today if Carnival hadn't tried lowering the price. It's was accepted and successful before and it will be accepted and successful now.
I'm glad we could amuse you, but the reason they dropped the price was it was not as successful as they would like, and a knee jerk reaction from some bean counters has made them return to their original price.
And as far as the discussion goes, thank you Captain Obvious!
-
We were going to try it on our next cruise because I thought we had a chance of breaking even with the old price point over an 8 day cruise.
We liked the idea of trying new drinks and not worrying if we didn't like them. We also liked the idea of an all inclusive feel to our vacation with most charges taken care of aside from gambling and souvenirs.
Having to average two more drinks a day over 8 days at a cost of $920 for two has made it seem like a return to price gouging by Carnival.
Sorry Carnival, we'll go back to bringing two bottles of wine, and spending more on our port days.
-
I usually get a glass of wine from one of the bars outside the MDR. Once I get half way through it, I order a 2nd one. That way I don't run out! My partner does the same but he drinks beer.
We employ the same method and it seems to work well for us.
We are also thinking of trying Cheers on our next cruise, 8 days with only 3 ports. With the price drop and extra sea days it seems a better deal with a break even point of 4 to 5 drinks a day.
And knowing we have the Cheers program, it may lead to fewer drinks consumed in port, might as well wait to drink on board.

This review was horrible!!!!!!

Wondering if anyone has the fun times for this cruise. Thanks!
bump
I'm looking too!

Wow...I didn't know that could happen. I'll remind her..she's on several medications as it is, so she'll probably have to check for cross-reactions anyway I'm guessing.
My wife and a friend have both used the wrist bands to avoid sea sickness with great success.

A 5 day Western on the Sensation in 2003 out of Tampa, after that we were hooked.

THANK YOU for this thread. I just saved $60.00 on my 12/28/14 booking using the pick your own cabin option.
It was so easy, I called Carnival and right away my very professional rep gave it to me. Took a total of 5 Minutes.
I was also able to save $40.00 prior on the Vacation sale so I feel like I am on a role!
You're welcome!
I have received a lot of great advice here, and thought there may be others who were rejected and might just give up leaving some money on the table.
-
Did anyone else have a problem getting their price drop with the current Past Guest sale?
I submitted two different price protection forms and was rejected both times, even though I could see the drop on Fare Viewer and a mock booking.
When I called Carnival the rep was nice but said the mock booking she performed indicated an upcharge on my fare for 4F on deck 7, while mine indicated free upgrades up through 4G or deck 8.
After saying she couldn't explain the difference, she transferred me to another rep who saw what I saw and had my price reduction completed in less than a minute or so.
Just saying you may need to double check your rate and keep bubbling up your issue until you get satisfaction, the sale ends 7/26.
Honeymoon night mare because we were not able to take the trip bought for us...

Checklists are your friend. I keep one on the kitchen table while we're packing the car, and it's the last thing I look at before I lock up the house and get in the car.
I'm sorry you missed your honeymoon cruise.
