  1. I remember the same thing (many years ago) of people getting great deals the "morning of". This seemed to work back then for the short 3 & 4 day party cruises out of San Pedro. As your and many other previous posts seem to indicate, it doesn't seem to be possible these days.
  2. Op is interested in tunes from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Does that fit with ballroom dancing? I honestly don't know. I've also watched those skilled in the ballroom dance steps. Very impressive. Same for when a group of folks join for line dancing. How can they learn to follow so quickly is beyond me. I was in the RCI Oasis "Music Hall" listening to a band play a lot of popular older songs from my era. One pair on the floor, the guy was trying to do the ballroom steps & twirls. His partner just kind of wanted to shake her booty to the music. She may or may not have been slightly toasted but either way they weren't on the same page. Lol.
  3. There were two for sure (RCI Oasis & Celebrity Edge) docked right across the pier from each other.
  4. What do they do now? I don't think there are any 8:45 boarding times. I would hope someone with an early flight would opt for the earliest boarding time available. If that isn't until 11:00, they are going to have to kill time someplace. Maybe get coffee or breakfast or something. If that is too much to expect, then why of course they should be treated as special and and the rules shouldn't apply to them and they should be allowed to board ahead of everyone else. After all, why shouldn't everyone else be delayed to accommodate them.
  5. Yeah, that is a communication conflict they really need to address. It seems so basic. How can they miss that kind of glitch. I don't recall that happening to us for our October Princess cruise. We might have just missed or ignored the email. Anyway, if my Princess app showed 11 am then I would show up to board at 11 am.
  6. When we were at Chill Island beach last week, I would say 80% of the beach lounge chairs were empty. It was my first time at Coco cay, so I didn't know what to expect.
  7. I'm being repetitive but yep! Already answered. I'll add when ordering we always let them know we wanted to use the diamond voucher. Always got a nod. Sure can. The only place we couldn't use ours was Starbucks and the bionic bar.
  8. On a recent RCI cruise, early arrivals were made to wait in a line behind a sign with their boarding group time. There were some long lines of early arrivals. On a recent princess cruise, we walked right in, but we were within our boarding window. From previous posts, it sounds like Princess has been a little looser in enforcing boarding times. It would be unusual for us to arrive earlier than our selected window. I personally hope they tighten up enforcement to make the boarding process easier, faster, & less chaotic.
  9. Setting aside this person's apparent rudeness, people with special needs are shown very little respect or compassion at cruise ship elevator banks. My rule, and I would be in the minority, is to give them preference. Whether she was a jerk or not, purposely blocking a disabled person isn't something I would proudly share.
  10. I'll add some: Don't panic. They will not run out of food. Don't do anything that I will find inconvenient or irritating. 😀
  11. My first thought was if you wife was a teacher, she would likely know! Haha. I don't think there is a single fixed week. For the US, it is likely late March or early April. If causing during that time there are some things that can be done to avoid spring breakers. For example, avoid cruises of 7 days or less Or, avoid Caribbean or Mexican Riviera cruises. And of course, just don't book during the spring break window.
  12. We were on an RCI cruise in the Caribbean last week. The ship stayed on EST. I think there was one port we visited that was in anther time zone. We received a note in the room reminding us to stay on ship's time for that port. Maybe because it was only one port they didn't want to bother changing the clocks, IDK. For your concern, does it really matter? If you have a 9:45 (local time) tour and the ship docks at 9 (eastern time zone), you will have an extra hour to make your tour. I think. Or am I doing this backwards.
  13. The good news is the airport is pretty close and it won't take long to get there. We will be doing a disembark in Barcelona for our next trip. I just checked and see we have an 11:45 flight.
  14. I need to circle back around (with a little egg on my face). The Medallion Q&A item I previously posted was not from Princess. I was too quick to hit the link when I googled the question and didn't realize it was from some travel site (my mistake). The "official" Medallion Q&A from Princess makes no such claims. Soooo, never mind.🙂
  15. The international coverage part is a good thing to have. I wish I had access to that feature but about the best I can do is emergency room coverage.
  16. No one has pointed to such literature and I think everyone agrees it ain't happening.
  17. Conversely, there is room for more but people stand at the front to block anyone getting on.
  18. Sorry, I was thinking travel medical and said medical. Well, hopefully you know what I meant.
  19. By "against medical insurance" I take it you prefer to retain the risk. Certainly a valid approach.
  20. Words I hate when booking indirectly: "Seats will be assigned by airline".
  21. No confusion about Bayonne NJ. It was only mentioned as a port remote from NYC. The whole thing about the NYC boroughs and different counties is confusing to me, but I don't go there very often.
  22. On our recent RCI cruise to the Caribbean there was a lot of music from the decades you mention. Good dancer? Mrs Ldubs says just move to the music. The concept seems hard to me to maintain after a few seconds. I am the dancing equivalent to tone deaf.
  23. I agree. Am I reading their comment incorrectly? Here it is again below. The part about purchases makes sense. Maybe they mean something else when they say stateroom access will not be granted. From Princess Q&A: Can someone else use my Medallion to get into my room or charge onboard purchases to my account?" "If the profile photo does not match the guest using the device, then stateroom access will not be granted and onboard purchases will not be approved."
  24. Look at Princess' wording in italics in post #59. Maybe I'm reading it too literally or something, IDK. Except for that wording I tend to agree with you -- bring my medallion by my door and it will unlock I think.
