  1. I don't do that at home either. However, my bathroom at home is quite a bit larger with places to hang those wet towels. 😄
  2. Is the upcharge prime rib any good? We actually like the free lunch buffet on sea days. Has that changed, too? At least you could have them plate you a regular side serving size! 😁
  3. Well, a little off topic, but I think I have the right crowd here. Once you get onboard can Suites, Diamonds, and Platinums go drop off their luggage right away? We are in a suite and Platinum if that matters. This is my first cruise since priority was reinstated.
  4. Does it still have the daily specials? Thought I read somewhere that they are now gone and there is a new dinner menu. If so, does anyone have a copy of the new menu items? Thanks!
  5. Shhhh....please don't let this best kept secret out. 😉 Other than the Vista suites on deck 4, these are the best cabins on Spirit class.
  6. Just got a call from Celebrity. I was booked on the Apr. 21st sailing. It has indeed been cancelled. They did offer a price protected move to either the Mar. 31st or Apr. 7th cruise. We chose to move to the same itinerary in the same cabin on the Apr. cruise. Received an extra $200 OBC to boot with the Black Friday offer. I am pleased with the outcome.
  7. Since I'm new to Celebrity, what does code red mean and where would I find that?
  8. This is my first booked Celebrity cruise. It has disappeared from the website. April 7th is the last cruise showing. Does anyone have any insight? Does Celebrity change their published itineraries often?
  9. I believe I read somewhere that Royal can discontinue your drink package if you are sharing with others and I would certainly hope that they would not serve someone who obviously has had too much to drink.
  10. No matter if you have a drink package or are paying a la carte, they cut you off at 15 drinks. The servers will not serve you again until the next day. The 15 drink limit on Carnival has more to do with cost cutting than stopping bad behavior.
  11. This year I was in a JS on Odyssey in Mar. We had the Salt+Breeze triple wall mounted (shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel) plus a lotion pump. We had a GS on Mariner in May, a GS on Harmony in August, and an OS on Harmony in September. On those sailings we had the Malin-Goetz products. Perhaps orville99 was in a JS.
  12. Well, as luck would have it, I just checked pricing on our cruise and the S1 cabins were $800 less than the Magic Carpet Suites today. Needless to say I rebooked in the S1! Two days ago, the S1 was $2500 more than the Magic Carpet Suite. Since we are new to Celebrity, I am confused by the pricing swings but will definitely roll with the flow, lol.
  13. Was yours a connecting cabin? If so, was the connecting door in the cabin? Did you have any noise issue?
  14. Uh oh, it appears in this video that the end suites connect within the cabin! 😟 This is not what the booking agent told us. This video is on the Edge. Did they change this configuration on the later E class ships?
  15. Since I've never been in one, I can only comment on what I have seen during my research. The Magic Carpet doesn't move very often but when it does it will interrupt your view for about a minute. There are no people onboard, so no privacy issues. I have heard that there is minimal noise as it moves past your cabin. It is a regular balcony. Larger than other Sky Suites, but with the beam blocking your view somewhat. The end suites have a window on the balcony with views either forward or aft. For us, the price was several thousand dollars less than the S1 Sky Suites.
  16. I am new to Celebrity, but not to cruising. We booked Magic Carpet Sky Suite 8210 on the Ascent. It is an end suite with the window that faces forward on the balcony. It is a connecting cabin and when I booked they told me that the connecting door was not in the cabin, but in a vestibule. The deck plan does not show the vestibule. I realize that the Ascent isn't completed yet, but can someone that has cruised on other E-class ships reassure me that I won't have a connecting door inside the cabin? Also, can anyone share any words of wisdom about the Magic Carpet suites. The price was too good to pass up!
  17. I am an Alabama football fan so I attached a Bama ribbon. Easy for me to locate and I got a lot of Roll Tides, too!
  18. I recently cruised twice on Royal in the last 6 weeks with a scooter. I am having hip replacement and it was a life saver. Check the dimensions of your scooter and the cabin door dimensions. It does need to be parked and charged in the cabin overnight. Anyway, I am like you and can walk a bit, but not all the way across the ship. Just park your scooter along the wall outside of the venue you are visiting. TAKE YOUR KEY! All keys fit all scooters. I also attached a ribbon on the basket to easily identify my scooter. I didn't use it very much, but it allowed me to get to places that would have caused me a lot of pain if I attempted to walk. Good luck!
  19. Hope you and your group feel better soon. I might have missed it, but did you quarantine in your original cabin or were you removed to the lower decks. I haven't heard much about the current quarantine process.
  20. Royal still has free continental breakfast. All other room service has a $7.95 fee plus 18% gratuity. Room service is free for full suites and includes orders from the MDR. That is for the complete order, not a la carte. They have a complete selection of hot breakfast items (eggs, bacon, sausage), for lunch and dinner there are salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, salmon, and desserts.
  21. If you just want to get out and stretch your legs, there are some interesting things within walking distance from terminal #1. Grills restaurant and bar has great seafood, drinks, and live music in the afternoons. Nice outdoor seating. Don't know when you leave, but I enjoy watching the fishing boats come in and clean and display their catch of the day. There are a dozen bars and restaurants along the waterway. You might catch a glimpse of the SpaceX rocket which is sometimes docked directly across the inlet. As mentioned earlier, The Kennedy Space Center is great if you are a space buff. You could do a dolphin watch tour, but frankly I've seen plenty of them in the inlet where Grills and the other restaurants are. Cocoa Beach is a basic Florida beach town.
  22. What was your opinion of Hooked? I am spoiled with fresh off the boat seafood. Hoping it is a good compromise. Can you get off the menu drinks at Wonderland? I am a cosmo girl, but heard the bar is staffed with good bar tenders and thought it would be an interesting change of pace.
  23. I doubt we would pay for Carnival's room service unless they add better selections and it arrives in a reasonable time and at the correct temperature. Other cruise lines do just fine with room service. It is clear that Carnival doesn't want to invest the time or manpower in the service. We use room service on other lines, but other than coffee first thing in the morning, we just grab and go with whatever we can find on Carnival.
