  1. They ay not, but you are correct. It is a medical exemption IMO. Let them change their stats if they want to.
  2. We've been to Rome on a land trip. We were originally going to do a 10+ day road trip from Milan, ending in Civi, but we scrapped that extra expense. we have 5 days between Regal and Island, so we are doing a shorter road trip, or may stay in Sicily. Anyway, we might be in the older terminal with a smaller ship and I have not looked up how many other ships are scheduled for our dates. I am interested to hear the name of the wine store you used. No doubt there are multiple. We are staying at Hotel Porto Di Roma, Via Montegrappa 27 which is close to central town and port.
  3. IMO, the disorganization of seating areas and lines and guests climbing over seats or pushing is partly on the cruise line port personnel for not being as organized as PCL is in Port Everglades (for example). It's early in the season after a long absence of cruising, so maybe they will get better. ETA: Sometimes, people act crazy if unsupervised. I really doubt they were all clamoring for The Sanctuary. LOL. I have never cruised out of Italy before (going to be doing it in October - twice). Not sure the size of the terminal for a Royal Class ship, but by 10:15 in Port Everglades, I wouldn't call the terminal "packed". Hope you get on board okay and can relax. I also hope they get better organized soon. We are staying overnight in Civi, so expect to be at the terminal fairly early. BTW, never heard report of an Arrival Group as high as "G". They must have setup quite a few extra there with less people in each one. Right now, MC App only shows three possible groups for our voyage.
  4. Sure - if you want to board later, you will breeze right through the process.
  5. Never heard of it being enforced since the re-start. Possibly some isolated situations, but generally not. Same as when they had the old show-up times by deck location. That was certainly arbitrary and unfair. Also, priority guests can show up anytime and there may be a lot on this voyage.
  6. You should be able to do that payment on Monday, but by now you probably realize next time to do it on Thursday or Friday latest just in case of any issues. What's another day or two early just to be safe in case of "whatever"? We are usually paying a week early or the TA gets antsy.
  7. Platinum and Elite members have access to DMW as soon as a cruise is booked with a deposit. So do Suites and Club Class - regardless of CC Member Level. They do not need DMW for regular DR - only for SD bookings.
  8. I didn't do anything. Now, that said, we were users of the old MedallionClass app's (when they ad multiples) before the new release during Covid. So, we had some info like our photos and passport info in the System previously. Not sure how much difference that makes. Both you and hubby will have Captain's Circle member numbers. You should both have your own Princess.com logins using email and password. Those have been synchronized with the MC App for a long time now (some folks had issues at the outset having different Id/Pswd combo's). I suggest you make sure both you and hubby can login with same id/pswd to both Princess.com and the MC App. You might also try the web-based OCEAN Ready which you link to from the Cruise Personalizer at Princess.com. Otherwise, call Princess and use the offered phone menu selections to get help with OCEAN Ready.
  9. Amazing L&F story. If you had any money left after tipping, you should have bought a lottery ticket!!
  10. Does he have his own Princess login id (email address) and password? My wife and I have our own logins, for example, even though I do everything with Princess and our TA. If I use her login to MC App, it is her profile photo that shows at the top left of the screen. When I sign in as me, it my photo that shows. I am the primary person on our bookings since I do all the arranging/setup, etc. When either of us are logged in, we both show up in the OCEAN Ready section.
  11. Mea culpa. Nope... just the one main one. Must be someplace else. I believe no smoking across Ontario and have not heard our casinos suffer for it.
  12. Thanks. I thought I had read where some had. My bad to say most without doing some checking. I really did have the impression more than the one. Must have another location mixed up.
  13. Japan owned with the Gaming HQ in Las Vegas. I used their Contact Us page to send a note. Who knows if it will do any good or just go into the circular file. IDK if the Asian influence will dictate keeping the smoking or not. Have not been to Vegas in long time but I think I have heard that many/most casinos have gone no-smoking??
  14. You can elect GTY from sales inception as long as the Category is still offered for sale.
  15. That is the right attitude to have when booking GTY. Accept it for what it is and be happy if you get something better.
  16. It's been a good time to use the GTY option with ships sailing below capacity. Much better chance to score a good result.
  17. I posted this info on the DMW thread, but thought it could be useful here. Princess has a relatively new expanded Call Tree. Options shown below and note the two ways to get to OCEAN Team. PHONE TREE @ 1-800-PRINCES 1 - TA's 2 - Existing Res 3 - New Booking 4 - CVP OTHER - Just wait during the pause for further options. 1 - MC App & DMW OTHER - Continue to wait on hold Select 1 when offered MC App & DMW Next options: 1 - OCEAN Ready Help 2 - DMW Help Select 2. 1 - Elite, Platinum, Suite, Club Class 2 - Others OPTION 2: PHONE TREE @ 1-800-PRINCES 1 - TA's 2 - Existing Res 3 - New Booking 4 - CVP OTHER - Just wait during the pause for further options. Select #2 option above and you get: 1 - MC App & DMW Issues 2 - Make a Payment 3 - Shore Excursions 4 - EZ-Air 5 - FCC questions or usage Other - just wait Note that option 1 above takes you to the same place as the path followed in the first ETA section. When you reach OCEAN team line, it offers you a Call-Back option if don't want to wait on hold. Tried that this morning and it worked well. Also, I noticed that going to a regular PCL rep, they now tell you an estimate of wait time. Baby steps.
  18. Wow - I have not called into PCL for some time and here is another improvement. After hearing I had a Call-Back option for OCEAN team, I wondered if they had added that to the regular phone rep line. So, I called back in and took Option 2 (Existing Res), and then Option 6 (All Other). The "wonderful" PCL muzak played for a few seconds and then a recording informed me that my wait time was under 30 minutes. At least this is a step in the right direction and get an idea of what lies ahead. I hung up as I found out no Call-Back option, but at least I got an idea of the wait time. Nice improvement. Actually, I think the whole new Call Tree is an improvement and helps delineate the calls no doubt.
  19. Since it is after 8:00am PT, I just tried the line to get through to DMW help, and after a few moments on hold, I was offered a Call-Back option and took that. How about that for a novel idea at Princess? Told me an OCEAN Navigator will call me back and keep my place in line. I was not informed where I was in line nor an estimated wait before selecting the Call-Back option. But it offered convenience.
  20. I would say if you see no companions, there are no companions for that voyage. ???
  21. Login to MC App. On main menu page, scroll down to Journey View and tap on Travel Companions. On the next page, any added Travel Companions are listed and there is a "Delete" box off to the right of each one and just tap on that.
  22. Thanks for these notes. I was not aware they had a specific phone tree path for DMW issues. I could certainly understand why as there has been a LOT of DMW issues. I wonder if these folks are setting up guest requests who want the TD experience so we truly do get same table and wait staff. I have only corresponded via email for DMW issues with OCEAN team thus far. We are in a good place now - except the need to get same table/waiters for the voyage. In respect of Suites - they do not need DMW other than for Specialty Dining reservations since they dine in the Club Class section of Deck 6 Mid-Ship DR. ETA: PHONE TREE @ 1-800-PRINCES 1 - TA's 2 - Existing Res 3 - New Booking 4 - CVP OTHER - Just wait during the pause for further options. 1 - MC App & DMW OTHER - Continue to wait on hold Select 1 when offered MC App & DMW Next options: 1 - OCEAN Ready Help 2 - DMW Help Select 2. 1 - Elite, Platinum, Suite, Club Class 2 - Others Select 1 if applicable. (Note that Suites and CC bookings do not need DMW at all for regular dining - just SD bookings). One problem I see is that they don't signal nor indicate their hours of operation. I am not surprised at no answer just after 6:30am PT on a Saturday morning. (I know they open for general calls at 8am on SAT and 6am weekdays). Would be nice to know the hours that DMW help is there. (I am going to ask if they are setting up or noting TD requests). One good thing is they do not have that super-annoying Princess hold muzak that we suffer with on the regular booking options. 😉 ETA 2: PHONE TREE @ 1-800-PRINCES 1 - TA's 2 - Existing Res 3 - New Booking 4 - CVP OTHER - Just wait during the pause for further options.
  23. There is no precise definition of these terms - I guess we just use our imagination. There is also zero evidence that anyone at Princess is paying attention to it. For example, those who elect to share a table with other cruisers would ideally be grouped by their desired speed of meal service. No evidence that is happening - in fact, it just won't be. Another aspect of this is that many folks may want different speeds on different nights, depending on dining start time and their desire to make an entertainment event, etc. ETA: Best thing is to just let your waiter know your situation each evening if you need to get out sooner. That has always worked for us in the past and this MC App option seems a waste of time.
  24. If you are Elite or Platinum, you should be able to access DMW in the MC App. Otherwise, supposedly you do not see access until after you have made Final Payment. Once you do have access, you can use the Individual Night option to make a booking and the SD locations are available to book. Regular dining and SD are available at the same time. According to Post #1029 from @worldtravaveller, you can now phone in to have dining reservations made by an OCEAN team member. (This is news to me although I knew they had a help line for MC App issues). Based on that post, phoning in is not going to get you past the need to wait until you fully pay for the cruise before being able to make a res - assuming your Captain's Circle level is not Platinum or Elite. These two groups can book dining as soon as they make a booking.
  25. For a Caribbean sector voyage, we have gone as long as 12-nights (5 + 7) with carry-ons. (We don't dress formally by definition of Princess recommendations). For 10-night Alaska, I would try it, but we'd likely have one checked bag due to heavier clothing. If not too large, we might be able to handle it ourselves (preferred).
