  1. Unable to edit. Guess it's b been too long since posted. I sent report and asked it to be deleted.
  2. I confirmed our reservations and seats. One more thing checked off the list!
  3. Thanks for the replies, Retirement 2016 and hipster85! We usually drive to the FLL port (about 6 hours) and I can only recall using EZAir a couple times. We've used credit crd points to book flights previously. I have the copies of our flights, so I guess I have what we need. We have our flight numbers, times, and seats so it looks like we are set! I'm used to flying SW Airlines on the cheap, and I have to check in 24 hours in advance for a boarding number since they do not have assigned seats.
  4. Add me to the confused list! Our flight is June 10th, and as far as I know we haven't received our tickets. Do they come in. an email and what should I look for? How and when do we check in. for our flights?
  5. I've enjoyed this thread. Thanks, crow9 for taking the time to post! When I checked the average weather for June in Alaska ,it said highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s, w/15 days of rain possible. Our cruise is June 11th, and I'm packing layers including leggings and long sleeve tees that can be worn under other clothing. Hat & gloves, just in case, and waterproof coat.
  6. We do the same as BuckEyeMark. We've had the more expensive cases tear up as frequently as the cheaper versions. Sometimes I wonder if the ramp agents don't purposely give the more expensive luggage rough treatment. I an currently using a roller bag from Academy Sports, husband has a Rick Steves carry-on/backpack bag. He bought one for me, too, but it doesn't have wheels, and I personally think wheels are essential!
  7. I was planning on asking the same question. Thanks for saving me the trouble. As for not receiving test results in time to board the cruise, Princess website says if you have proof of getting the test - I assume that means a receipt - Princess will test free at the pier. Problem with that is the Walgreen NAAT test is free, so assume no receipt. We'll take our chances!
  8. We use the door hanger to order breakfast and write in any extra items we want. I usually order a Croque Monsieur for breakfast on the door hanger and it has always been delivered.
  9. Kitty Elias Mom, hang in there! Most of these negative posts are just because they're bored. And enjoy your cruise any way that is comfortable for you!
  10. In crowded spaces like the Princess Theatre particularly. We will probably wear masks in some areas on ship.
  11. I have previously carried on 12-18 cans of Diet Coke, and would continue to do so if I had an opportunity to buy a 12 pack after my flight. I noticed Princess now offers to deliver cans of soda or bottled water to your cabin for a little under $12, certainly much more expensive than the grocery store but less than purchasing individually at the bar.
  12. I personally would never limit the steward's access to my cabin for the duration of the cruise. I like fresh towels daily and sheets changed periodically, and the toiletries refreshed as needed, etc. I like being pampered, and the steward is vaccinated/boosted and tested. The steward will learn what time to clean based on when you tend to vacate your cabin, and the notification on the door will confirm best time to clean.
  13. I started to sign up for Port Valet ahead of time, but realized until we finish packing I don't know how many bags we will have. After reading the above comments, I will wait to sign up on the ship.
  14. We are using Seattle Express for pickup from our airport area hotel to Pier 91 on June11th. Price is $15 pp for a total w/tax of $31.80/couple. seattleexpress.com 206 793-8430. info@seattleexpress.com On the return to Seattle, we are using Port Valet for free pickup of our luggage from the ship and checked to our final destination. We will be luggage-free to explore Seattle until our 9:35 PM flight. We are planning on taking the light rail to the airport from Westlake to SeaTac since w/o luggage it should be an easy ride. This is info that I garnered from asking questions on the board. Glaciers and Ferry Watcher, among others, were extremely helpful.
  15. The Crown's propulsion problems are on-going, every week requiring maintenance. I would like to think that Princess is putting the band-aid on the problem ONLY until the parts can be secured to fix it permanently, but maybe they don't have the money for the repairs...or are planning on selling...could be any number of reasons that we are not aware.
  16. We had planned on using the BinaxNOW tests. How did you know the website to use for proctored results?
  17. Thanks. We have had Covid vaccines and 2 boosters. So we're good to go. Planning on doing test Thursday before leaving home on Friday.
  18. I was hoping by June, 2022 there would be no need for covid testing, but looks like that was wishful thinking. Since guidelines seem to be constantly changing, can someone tell me if the test must be done within how many days prior to boarding? We fly to Seattle on Friday, board Crown P on Saturday, and I was hoping we could do our covid test on Thursday. Would this work for 2 days? Noon Thurs to noon Friday = 1 day; noon Friday to noon boarding Saturday = 2 days. <sigh>. so tired of dealing with covid!
  19. I would not book an Alaska cruise without Glacier Bay! It is the entire reason for the trip and words just don't describe the majestic beauty!! And when a glacier calves, it's like a shotgun but louder and reverberating off the other glaciers. We were there in 2005 and can't wait to go back in June, 2022.
  20. Thanks, everyone. More things to think about, and I had no idea about proctored tests or expiration dates. This board is very helpful for many reasons. We leave home on June 10 later in the afternoon, and board the ship the next day. I think we will just go to Walgreens or CVS for our tests prior to leaving home. Tests must be within 3 days f boarding, correct?
  21. We are on Crown Princess in June out of Seattle, and have booked The Days of 98 excursion that includes the waterfall (as I understand) on the drive to Yukon, and the cemetery.
  22. Are the BinaxNOW covid test kits the US government sent free to all citizens requesting them not good enough? That's what we were planning on using.
  23. I keep hoping the covid test requirement will be dropped before our cruise June 11th. Wishful thinking, I guess!
