Tracey Arm Fjord is beautiful and you get a great view of the glacier but the trip down the fjord from Juneau is long. When we went the boat captain took us up against several waterfalls which was fun but we did get bored on the ride back to Juneau. Look closely at the details for timing of the trip.

Totally agree with many posters that children introduced early to nice dining with certain expectations for behavior are often better behaved than some adults. We received many compliments on our children’s behavior. Our children rarely ate off the “kids” menu and had refined palates at a young age. Now they are introducing their children to a variety of foods. Our youngest at four when given a kids menu asked why eggs Benedict (she could read) was not included. The waiter was very surprised.

Ours was easy TA just canceled the shorter tour and we received the credit when we paid our final payment. Sorry you had so many problems.

They are there to answer questions and often tell you where on the boardwalk bears have recently been spotted. Bears are a part of life in Alaska so they don’t guide you away just help promote safe viewing.

If the Princess tour is full the park service also sells the Tundra Wilderness tour cheaper than Princess. We were unable to upgrade our natural history tour for the tundra wilderness tour so had our TA cancel the Princess tour and then we booked through the park service.

We have toured several times with Alaskan Humpback Adventures. Captain Steve used to work with Harv and Marv. His boat holds 6 passengers and we have found him to not only take us to the whales but also to educate you on the whales. Great small boat tour. Areas inside and outside to view whales.

If you are traveling during the salmon run we have seen bears during all 5 times we walked the steep creek boardwalk trail. As others have mentioned rangers are close by and the bears are so intent on catching salmon they really don’t notice you. That said always stay alert especially for mother bears and cubs. We have found if a mother bear is close so is the ranger.

I would recommend anyone considering booking during this sale with this agency to carefully check prices yourself on the Princess website then get another TA. We have booked this sale in the past but this year is a joke. Had TA price cruises told we were getting Princess Plus for standard rate. Instead when we checked ourselves on Princess before booking found basic rate for 14 day cruise to be $3000 cheaper and we could have booked Princess Plus ourselves for $1500 less than quote. BUYER BEWARE!
