  1. Actually, with the exception of the Grand Canyon, probably not. We had our land adventures for 40 years. The last 10 we’ve been taking long exotic cruises, it TA’s. One ship stopped at Myanmar for 3 days. Amazing country, but might not be inclined to stay there in a hotel. Antarctica is amazing, but no options to stay on land for awhile. Bottom line, as long as we stay healthy we’re cruising.
  2. We all cruise for different reasons, but some like myself, like being at sea. The more sea days the better. Wouldn’t be interested at all in a land based vacation
  3. Wow! This is unbelievable, and they’ve just found out about this now ? All for a photo op. I’m sure everyone will be up on deck at 06:15. Also, will you still have to vacate your room by 8 ? Definitely not acceptable
  4. I had the room with the shower and tub ( not our choice) on a 32 day cruise on Nova in October/ November. Don’t expect the shower to be spacious, because IMHO it wasn’t. I had a prior post on this. We wouldn’t want that room again.
  5. I was on the Nova for 32 days in November, so I can only answer about then. As a beer aficionado I was disappointed. Definitely, no tap beer, no IPA’s, and no local beers in the SALT bar which was a surprise as they usually stock local beers. I asked the F&B manager and he said we’ll try and get some before the TA. The bartender and server at SALT bar were frustrated too. Perhaps in the states they were able to order a greater variety. I did survive though, and had a great trip.
  6. Plus on Amex Platinum, $200 annual airline credit, OBC on Oceania and other lines. Last year on Silversea we got a $300 OBC, and a bottle of DomPerignon , by using the card to book. To us it’s worth it, and we always get enough perks for it to pay for itself, and more. It may not be for everyone, but it works for us.
  7. Yea !!! Enjoy the voyage ! Now you can totally sit back and relax
  8. We did it in April of 22 from Rome to Orlando. They booked us on American Airlines to Charlotte on a mid morning non stop, and on to Orlando with a short layover.
  9. Terry, you finally made it ! It is great to see both you and spouse enjoying India. I’m sure your cruise will go well too. Enjoy your well deserved trip!
  10. Wishing you a great trip, and looking forward to your reports! Bon Voyage!
  11. I was just booked through Regent Air from Orlando to Barcelona paying the deviation fee. Euro wings/ Discover ( owned by Lufthansa) Orlando- Frankfurt- Barcelona. Told me United ( my first choice) would cost $ 500 each. Used by Delta miles to return from NYC in first.
  12. Good news for everyone on the voyage ! ( I’m not) Hopefully everything is smooth sailing, trouble free and a great voyage and stay in Mumbai.
  13. Great pictures of a great voyage ! Very much enjoying your pictures and details of your trip.
  14. You’re hooked already! On Regent no less . Enjoy every single day of your cruise, as well as the many, many more to come !
  15. Fingers crossed for those booked on the cruise from Mumbai. Uncertainty, definitely is a cause for anxiety. Hopefully a good outcome for everyone.
  16. When I retired from fdny, I taught elementary school for a few years. My kids liked reading Sarah and Duck books, as well as watch the TV series. I bought a stuffed replica of “ Duck”. When I’d travel, I’d take “ Duck” with me and wear my school shirt, and take pictures all over the world. The kids loved it, and developed an interest in travel, and learned about different countries and cultures. Yes, he still travels with us too!
  17. Never saw it on a ship, but read that Jeep owners do it. Harmless fun IMO.
  18. Of course the wild card in all of this, is what kind of weather and seas will the Moon encounter. Top speed would be based on perfect sea and weather conditions I’d assume.
  19. I don’t have any pictures of the bathroom Move, but stayed in a Veranda with a tub, which we never used. When you walk into the bathroom ( in our case) the sink is straight ahead, the tub was on the wall to the left, and a smallish shower and toilet were to the right. The shower was adequate, however when you opened the shower door, water would accumulate on the floor and in front of the toilet. For the ladies especially, you had to throw a towel on the floor or your slacks would get wet. The tub did have a clothesline which we used. We didn’t know beforehand that the other cabins has larger showers and no tub. I definitely wouldn’t take a room with the tub again. Hope this helps. JSR, great pictures! The 80 mph ride would’ve scared the heck out of my wife.
  20. Kind of sad seeing her still looking elegant all lit up,but without passengers.
  21. Congratulations!! Enjoy the day and evening. A great place to be for an anniversary
  22. Being trained to watch for chogs . Chews up books and other items left too long.
  23. I definitely would ! 20 sea days ? Love it
  24. And this morning it was reported that a tanker was hijacked in the Gulf of Oman. It had left Iraq for Turkey, but now is headed to Iran.
